This research involves the design and development of a novel linearly polarized beam squinted radial line slot array (RLSA) Antenna for IEEE 802.11a WLAN application operating on UNII frequency band standard, with frequency range of 5.72 - 5.875 GHz. The major part of this project includes the antenna prototype development processes. Power penalty evaluated at a BER of 10-9 shows a significant impact of Raman induced crosstalk on the number of wavelengths that can be transmitted. Penalty is higher at higher input power, higher number of channels and higher bit rates used for transmission. The titanate films were sputtered on Pt/Ti/SiO2 coated, undoped silicon wafers. Capacitors with 50 times 50 mum2 electrode area were formed on the PZT layer using electron beam lithography. This paper reports on the improved characterization and modeling of the devices. The signal information is delayed and the carrier phase experiences an advance due to the dispersive character of the ionosphere. The delay can be more than 100 meters in the worst case scenario and tends to increase with increasing solar activity. This error can be corrected by processing the GPS data if it is known. This paper describes the possibility of using statistical methods to forecast the ionospheric delay which shows repeatable patterns in time series. The statistical method used is the Holt-Winter method due to its ability to forecast time series with repeated trends and seasonal patterns. Based on the TEC data collected during a period of a month, ionospheric delay forecast is generated for the following month, which is then compared with the real data. In order to facilitate communication within the network, a routing protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. The primary goal of such an ad-hoc network routing protocol is correct and efficient route establishment between a pair of nodes so that messages may be delivered in a timely manner. Route construction should be done with a minimum of overhead and bandwidth consumption. This paper examines routing protocols for ad-hoc networks and evaluates these protocols based on a given set of parameters. However, implementation of modern nanotechnology devices requires paying strict attention to parasitic effects, such as jitter which is caused by switching the entire device core logic elements (Core jitter) as well as the output buffer jitter caused by switching the inputs and outputs (I/O) of the device. These timing variations decrease the timing margin and limit the achievable data rate of an integrated circuit (IC). This paper presents a study of the jitter effects due to core noise and I/O noise on field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) manufactured using both 90-nm and 65-nm process technologies respectively. This paper evaluates the impact of the following factors on Core Jitter: aggressor location in a device; aggressor switching frequency, and aggressor pattern type and switching core logic percentage. The timing variations based on switching I/O are also studied. The data available should be interpreted accurately in order to identify the various faults at production level and to immediately rectify them to improve efficiency. An accurate data management and shop floor monitoring system (PMS) is equally important in improving production performance. A number of production floors are utilizing manual methods of data collection for producing reports. Manual data compilation leaves room for both inconsistencies and inaccuracies. When manual data collection is practiced, there is usually a second step of manually compiling the data. This is most commonly accomplished by entering in the information into spreadsheets. When the data is collected without the help of a PMS then the data can be inaccurate. Where there is human intervention on the recording or collection of data, the truthfulness of the collected data is no longer reliable. This paper presents an automated data collection and display system for production lines. Once the data is displayed, it is transferred into computerize spreadsheet in the remote office by authorized personnel for reporting purposes. The system will generate an automated report which stays in place and the management only needs to act base on the results. This cost effective automatic data collection is the alternative to manual data collection. The advantage over conventional dumb-bell shape DGS is, the physical dimensions and frequency response can be directly determined using its equivalent LC circuit. The equations can be extracted from Stepped Impedance Hairpin Resonator (SIHR) low pass filter study. They are similar in term of electrical characteristic. Conventional dumb-bell DGS use iterative trial and error method for the same purpose. It is time consuming and tend to lead to inaccurate design. This new DGS simplify and speed up design process significantly. Measurement and simulation data shows good relationship except at high frequency whereby the measured circuit suffers greater transmission loss.
