It creates the competitive advantage by supporting the business processes. However, system implementation is relatively high because the systems is required the IT resources for implementation and maintenance, such as the infrastructures and the IT experts. Therefore, the cloud service could be a potential solution for the SMEs, in Thailand, especially would be very helpful in the rural area, where the internet is available. The inventory system is very important for the factory which helps reducing cost and gaining the competitive advantage. And the inventory systems are also very common used in the SMESs. Therefore, the Ice cream factory which is a medium-sized plant and located in the rural area in the north of Thailand, Chiang Rai has been chosen as the scenario in this paper. Currently, the factory uses the inventory system which based on web-application technology. The company's size and location is the main problem that it cannot get the good service and the utilization of the information system is not effective. The detailed behind the cloud computing service framework is discussed in this paper. Furthermore, a scenario is presented to analyse the cloud service framework by adapting the ATAM method to evaluate the framework. The results of the scenario study provided the utility tree, quality attributes; scalability, reliability and usability, sensitive point and trade-off points for the inventory cloud service framework.","PeriodicalId":356009,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127066332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially, in the rural area, there is no coach to help improve the team performance by designing the training course for the football player, planning the tactic during the game or choosing the football player who has higher performance. This paper proposes a football player tracking system (FPTS) based on GPS. Here, a simplified low-cost GPS module is used to detect the position of the football player during the game. FPTS can calculate the speed at that time, show the distance that football player can run and display the route that football player are passed by using the position that are sent from the GPS module. The FPTS is divided into two parts. First, a mobile part on the wrist-pad is used to detect the position and send the data through the Xbee. Second, the ground part is used to process the data from the mobile part, calculate and display the speed, distance, route of football player and save the data into the database. The FPTS will help the football team in rural area which does not have the coach by sending the all of data recorded to the coach. The coach will analyze the data and help the football team to design the training course to improve the performance of each player, plan the tactic of the game and choose the player in the right position. The FPTS is a low-cost system for tracking football player. It can be applied to any sport field that have a square shape.","PeriodicalId":356009,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129003063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It differs from other timetabling problems in terms of conditions. A complete timetable must reach several requirements involving course, group of student sitting the exam in that course, etc. It is similar to the course's timetable but not the same. Many differences between them include the way to create and the requirements. This paper proposes an adaptive genetic algorithm model applied for improving effectiveness of automatic arranging examination timetable. Hard constraints and soft constraints for this specific problem were discussed. In addition, the genetic elements were designed and the penalty cost function was proposed. Three genetic operators: crossover, mutation, and selection were employed. A simulation was conducted to obtain some results. The results show that the proposed GA model works well in arranging an examination timetable. With 0.75 crossover rate, there is no hard constraints appeared in the timetable.","PeriodicalId":356009,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125505970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The RDA can decrease consumption of the power by increase of directivity because signal concentrates on the received direction compare to an omni-direction antenna which transmit the power all direction. Generally, the RDA is known to show better performance than the single-antenna system in multi-path environment. However, the RDA occurs performance degradation in serious ISI channel. It takes place when a mobile station (MS) moves from a serving base station (SBS) to another base station (BS). However, the handover schemes are adopted in mobile WiMAX and hard handover is defined as mandatory. Since the data transmission should pause during handover process, it causes delay in mobile communication. The handover delay makes service degradation in system performance when implemented in real-time application such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and Internet protocol Television (IPTV). This paper is to propose improvement handover scheme for mobile WIMAX. This scheme depends on the velocity factor of mobile station and it aims to reduce handover delay time and enhance the network resource utilization. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme is more than 90 % efficient.","PeriodicalId":356009,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128073112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with the popularization of information devices such as personal computers and smart-phones, many applications controlled by voice have spread in the society. In order to increase the speech accuracy under a real environment, it is extremely important to discriminate similar pronunciation phrases. In the proposed method, linear prediction theory (LPC) is used for spectral analysis while cepstrum mean subtraction (CMS) and dynamic range adjustment (DRA) is used for a noise reduction method. The speech accuracy was recorded 68.7 % in SNR 10 dB by using the proposed methods. In conclusion, LPC+CMS/DRA is the most effective method to discriminate similar pronunciation phrases.","PeriodicalId":356009,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132352974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The detections based on support vector machines (SVM) classification and Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering are evaluated. SVM technique makes use of a kernel function for classification, which performs well with datasets having nonlinear boundaries. However, it is difficult to determine the suitable kernel function for each dataset and it is needed to be examined. On the other hand, FCM technique is soft unsupervised clustering, which allows each data element to be in more than one cluster with different membership value. This makes it robust to ambiguity datasets. A database of 90 events; 45 cyclone events and 45 non-cyclone events; from the QuikSCAT satellite data is used for the performance evaluation. The performance of the proposed cyclone identification system is then compared to that of [7]. The experimental results show that cyclone identification using Fuzzy C-Mean clustering outperforms that using SVM technique since the SVM is sensitive to the outliers or noises in the dataset thus leads to a reduction in identification performance.","PeriodicalId":356009,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Symposium on Communications and Information Technologies (ISCIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130322494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
