A discrete time dynamic programming controller is developed to minimize the electricity costs. It is shown in simulation, using real world measurement data, that considerable savings can be achieved with the optimal controller. However, we also show the limitations of such discrete time approaches in realistic scenarios when load and generation changes in-between the samples where the controller is active. This can lead to a performance deterioration making the optimal controller worse than a standard approach.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129830647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the challenges faced while practical implementation from a fixed-wing UAV's involves compensating for the device vibration, real-time video transmission lag, small object sizes tracking while sending a command from Ground Control Station (GCS) to UAV and vice versa. The constantly changing position and orientation of UAV during different flight maneuvers lead to the loss of tracked objects from the field of view. The paper's primary objective is to develop a gimbal control algorithm for real-time object tracking and object location from a small-unmanned fixed-wing aircraft. The proposed algorithm deals with two scenarios, the first scenario offers gimbal pointing at a given coordinate, while second incorporates gimbal pointing such as to align the optical axis with a certain point in the image plane. The solution proposed is to turn the camera head in azimuth and elevation angles towards the object. The alternative suggested includes rotating the camera head in azimuth and elevation angles towards the object, and the suitable angles were calculated based on the camera's distance from the object, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) (camera positioning and orientation) information. The algorithm was first simulated using MATLAB/Simulink using the same parameter of the actual aircraft UAV and further implemented in fixed-wing UAV. The result advocates the applicability of the algorithm and the future work to be done for robust object tracking.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127071778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The vehicle's autonomy and price influence depend on the chosen source technology. For that, we must optimize the sizing and the ageing of the storage system using heavy-duty models. These last ones must take into account the battery behavior and the system cost. The development of an accurate multi-physical lithium battery model can be an extremely time-consuming process because of the complexity of the battery electrochemical phenomena that could occur during an automotive application. In this paper, we will start by introducing the proposed dynamic battery model, and submit the possibility of building an accurate dynamic design while highlighting the key objective of our study, which is the optimization algorithms performances comparison in terms of precision and computing time.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127348466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, customers’ practices are also changing, they can modify or cancel an order at any time, thus impacting the already established planning. Therefore, rescheduling is necessary to revise the initial schedule in a cost-effective manner. In this work, a new performance measure is investigated, considering simultaneously the weighted waiting time as an efficiency criterion, and the total completion time deviation as a stability criterion. The objective function which considers several criteria, could be very significant and helpful for industrial actors. In addition, an innovative concept is introduced, consisting in increasing the jobs weight at each time they are rescheduled, to take fairly into account the low weight earliest jobs. This paper addresses a parallel machine rescheduling problem, disrupted by new jobs arrival. Based on predictive reactive strategy, a linear mathematical model is developed, as well as an iterative methodology to solve the described problem. Finally, numerical results are analyzed to show the effect produced by the combination of efficiency and stability criteria.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127366007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A solution for users of hockey sticks is developed via experimental research. Samples of continuous carbon fibre laminates with an epoxy resin were produced and tested with a Zwick Z010 machine to perform a three-point bend test and determine the fracture point and behaviour. Sample groups of 4-ply and 7-ply were tested to draw a comparison and suggest appropriate application within the hockey stick. Testing criteria was varied to determine an appropriate comparison criterion between the sample groups and the ductility and stiffness properties were analysed. Finally, this investigation provided further data points for future material selection reference.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131307914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bringing about the emergence of this much-wanted value is carried out by a synergic integration of an optimization tool within the control system rather than developing an isolated optimization solution. Then, if we move to the optimal planning tool in particular, it is believed that, the integration of planning and scheduling decisions of storage, routing and loading together making up an integrated optimization plan without contradictory goals, is vital for an efficient use of the three aforementioned bulk port operations. In this paper, we present an architecture to get the optimization tool fit into the industrial control system to consider disturbances, feedback cycles and dynamics. Then, we propose a novel approach of the integration of the three sub-optimizers using the systems engineering method. The novel aspect of this contribution is twofold. First, rather than only describing the problem before formulating the mathematical model. The systems engineering method, allowed to specify the problem with an in-depth scientific analysis, in order to get a complete and consistent mastery of the problem. Therefore, the problem formulation will not miss important use cases of the complex supply chain. Second, the resulting specified planning integration helps the whole planning tool converge in a reasonable time by avoiding quasi-infinite interaction loops.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131669290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They originate from different, often unknown sources. They are considered with respect in statistical analysis, robust regression and in data mining. One may find a lot of interesting approaches and consideration. Their detection, labelling, identification, isolation, filtering and interpretation is subject of many research activities. On the other hand effect of the outliers on control systems analysis has not been sufficiently investigated. Their effect is often neglected or considered contemptuously. This work addresses the subject of outlier detection from the perspective of control system performance analysis. The work focuses on statistical data-driven approaches. Selected statistical outlier detection approaches are proposed and compared on real industrial control loop data originating from process industry. Obtained results form a starting point for potential application of automatic outlier detection methods.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128831963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main difference with respect to the traditional Common-Rail system consists in the introduction of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) between the engine and the high-pressure pump. This approach helps reducing the high-pressure pump speed and, consequently, the cuts energy consumption of the system. The proof of concept is designed by adopting a CVT available on the market. The experimental results are encouraging and promising for future developments of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":355781,"journal":{"name":"2020 7th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123284718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
