The objective of this study is to evaluate their proper use. A total of 41.9% of residents on NOCs were malnourished on the day of the audit, compared with 71.5% before the introduction of NOCs. NOCs were administered according to the dietician's prescription, which differed from the doctor's prescription in more than half of the cases. Although accounting for nearly 20% of deaths in France, the excess mortality in long-term care facilities compared to previous years has not been fully studied.
