In addition, Bogor Regency is also connected to rail-based mass public transportation in the Jabodetabek area which supports the mobility of its population. This study aims to identify the suitability of a transit area to be developed with Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concept. The research location is among the transit areas of two intercity train stations and seven existing urban commuter line train stations in Bogor Regency. Observations focused on the area in a radius of 800 meters from the station which is assessed as the maximum distance a person can walk for 15 minutes. Potential locations are determined by the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method on several variables that form the ideal TOD. The variables observed include aspects of transportation and aspects of land use which are derived into several indicators. Based on the research, it was found that the most potential area to be developed with the TOD concept is the transit area of Cibinong station, followed by transit areas of Bojonggede station, Citayam station, and Cilebut station. Meanwhile, transit areas of Parung Panjang station and Tenjo station have medium potential, and transit areas Maseng Station and Cigombong Station are not potential.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132460687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Measurement of development based on specific indicators is one of the approaches to describe sustainable development. At the local level, measuring sustainable development using specific indicators is still rare. Since each location has their own unique characteristics, measuring sustainability at the regional level could not always be applied locally. The availability of data at the village level strongly encourages the local measurement of sustainable development index. The economic, social, and environmental dimensions of Mandailing Natal Regency's development are still constrained. Using 21 variables that can reflect economic, social, and environmental aspects, this study aims to measure the sustainable development index at the local level. The Local Sustainable Development Index will be generated by analyzing these variables using the Factor Analysis (FA) method and Local Indicator of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA) analysis. This index measurement is useful in considering the direction of location-based (spatial) development for decision makers at the local level and describe development sustainability. In general, IPBL economic value was in the medium category in 2011, and several villages in the low category were able to enhance their economic development sustainability in 2018. In the northwest, IPBL environment cluster type High-high (HH). In 2018, the percentage spatial distribution pattern of villages with the Low-low (LL) cluster type of IPBL economic and IPBL environment decreased. However, as can be seen from the spatial distribution pattern of IPBL social with cluster type LL, the percentage increased in 2018.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114371444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abandonment has been occurring in many countries due to natural condition climate, low-productive, less economic condition, depopulation, aging, and poor work efficiency. However, the terraced fields in Malasari village, Bogor Regency are relatively sustained and constantly maintained by traditional local farmers. Therefore, this study aims to seek keys to how to maintain of the terraced paddy fields by local farmers in Malasari village. The survey was conducted from October 2019 to January 2020 on Malasari village (6°40’S and 106°31’E) by using primary and secondary data with a sample of 28 households. Questionnaire survey was conducted to elicit primary data on farmer’s basic information. Verification of land cover in Malasari village was carried out by visual interpretation land cover in images obtained from drone image in 2019. The terraced paddy fields have been maintained by local farmers contentiously. Two factors are discovered maintained the terraced paddy fields, namely: (1) the local wisdom technique is an act that has direct influences on the physical structure of terraced paddy fields for maintaining, especially land management which is plowing and making levee are playing an important role, and (2) social capital is an act that has indirect influences on the terraced paddy fields. These factors interact with each other to maintain the terraced paddy fields.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121210982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This has caused the production of timber from the forest area in Kuningan Regency not been able to fulfill market demands. As a result, timber from community forests became an alternative to fulfill those demands. Community forest is forest that grows on land that is burdened with ownership rights of minimum 0.25 ha and canopy cover of minimum 50%, and/or having at least 500 stems/ha in the first year. As the demand for community timber increases, in the long term, the community forest management needs good planning to support the conservation regency policy. Therefore, objectives of this research are (1) to identify the types of community forest timber based on farmers' preferences and the financial feasibility, (2) to analyze land suitability and availability, (3) to analyze the leading commodity, and (4) to suggest the direction of the development regions. Methods of this research are AHP and TOPSIS, financial feasibility calculation (IRR, BC Ratio, NPV), land suitability analysis with matching criteria as well as GIS analysis, LQ, and SSA, together with descriptive analysis. Results showed that the leading types of timber were sengon, mahogany, africa, and teak. All were feasible to be cultivated with the recommended pattern, which was agroforestry. There are 12 districts with community forests as their leading sector, namely Ciawigebang, Cigandamekar, Cimahi, Cipicung, Ciwaru, Darma, Garawangi, Japara, Kramatmulya, Lebakwangi, Luragung, and Nusaherang district. The suggestion for direction of the development regions by type is for the north and east regions to be prioritized for sengon, teak, and africa, while the west and south regions to be prioritized for mahogany.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125593030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
