However, the effectiveness of this initiative in increasing household income is often subject to scrutiny. This study examines the impact of Social Forestry on household income by comparing Social Forestry members and non-members in two mountainous villages on Java Island. Specifically, the analysis focuses on household surveys conducted in Tombo village in Central Java and Cibulao sub-village in West Java. A negative correlation between membership and household income is observed in Tombo, whereas a positive correlation between membership and farm income is observed in Cibulao. Considering these findings, we posit that pre-implementation land tenure and accessibility may affect the economic outcomes of the program.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":" 52","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141128397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The importance of the existence of urban GOS cannot be separated from supporting the development of the green city concept in DKI Jakarta Province. The green city is a concept of realizing a sustainable city and minimizing the degradation of the green city concept in DKI Jakarta Province. Geographic Information System (GIS)- based spatial analysis methods and remote sensing were used to evaluate the availability of urban GOS. Quantitative and qualitative analysis methods based on the Asian Green City Index (AGCI) are used to evaluate the application of the green city concept. The results show that GOS in DKI Jakarta has decreased, from 33.70% in 2000, 23.47% in 2010, and 19.50% in 2020. In the application of the green city concept, the performance of DKI Jakarta has increased. Performance in 2000 was at a below-average level (34.58%), in 2010 it was at the average level (44.85%), and in 2020 the performance increased to an above-average level (62.76%). The results showed that the increase in the implementation of the green city concept has not been followed by an increase in the quantity of urban GOS. An integrative urban planning strategy is needed in developing DKI Jakarta so that it remains oriented towards the carrying capacity of the landscape and maintains the availability of existing urban GOS.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":" 39","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141128333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to determine thespatial character of the distribution of business units and several variables that influence theproduction process to develop this business. Analysis of spatial pattern of swallow's nest businessis done by using Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN). Income Analysis is done by calculating thedifference between receipts and costs. Production function analysis is done by using NormalityTest, Multicollinearity Test, Autocorrelation Test, and Heteroscedastic Test. The results showedthat the distribution of swallow's nest business units in North Jakarta was clustered, which wasonly found in 3 sub-districts i.e. Penjaringan, Tanjung Priok and Cilincing. The pattern showedthat the swallow’s nest business unit is profitable for business actors, it can attract the interest ofthe community and make competition more competitive. Mangroves can contribute economically by considering social and economic characteristics, such as natural dye on traditional fabrics. Unfortunately, studies on mangroves' potential as a natural fabric dye and their relationship with social and economic potential are limited. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the feasibility, prospects, and challenges in developing natural dyes from mangroves for traditional fabrics. Through field observations in the Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve in Garut Regency, interviews, and literature studies, this study used a descriptive approach with SWOT and financial analysis. At least three mangrove species can be used as natural dyes to produce brown color variants: Bruguiera gymnorrizha, Rhizophora mucronata, and Rhizophora apiculata. The strategic location, with an intense fabric industry and high community motivation, provided opportunities to develop mangrove dye products. The business was feasible and resistant to the economic crisis. However, even though the community knows the mangrove benefits of natural fabric dyes, there was no development practice because of no assistance in processing. Supports from the government, forestry extension agents, NGOs, and universities are essential for mangrove conservation while improving livelihood and economic welfare through the mangrove natural dyes business.","PeriodicalId":355598,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Regional and Rural Development Planning","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139209067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the analysis of superior commodities using Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share Analysis (SSA), superior food crop commodities are rice, corn, peanut, and cassava. These superior commodities are spread over 8 districts, namely Mungka, Payakumbuh, Harau (rice), Guguak, Luak, Lareh Sago Halaban (corn), Suliki (peanuts), and Akabiluru (cassava). The analysis of the agribusiness system describes the conditions of each agribusiness sub-system of the superior food crop commodities starting from the upstream (on-farm) downstream (off-farm).
