However, the sensors are sensitive to motion noise caused by user′s movement so that this paper suggests a novel noise reduction using active noise cancellation (ANC) with multichannel signals. The proposed algorithm can detect reliable QRS interval and conserve its power while noise is reduced outside the interval. As a result, the proposed algorithm achieved more accurate R peak detection of ECG measured in driving situation than single channel ANC. The method will be useful in the filed reducing noise of multichannel biomedical signal.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126638312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indoor RF (Radio Frequency) coverage is very important, but its evaluation doesn’t yet contain any standard. Indoor RF coverage assessment or prediction caught interest of communications researchers and samples collection methods used in data validation should be closely chosen. Usually, RF signal propagation is impacted by internal or external factors such as building materials, relay station position and calibrated RF propagation models. The purpose of this research is to allow telecommunications regulators, operators or RF coverage assessment owners, to objectively evaluate 3G (Third Generation) and 4G (Fourth Generation) mobile networks indoor radio frequency coverage. Several steps have been considered such as, itinerary length optimization using SDTR (Special Drive Test Routes), limits of the use of RF propagation models in indoor scenario, comparison between RDTR (Random Drive Test Routes) and SDTR applied to indoor scenario and finally, list of additional key performance indicators that should be considered.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114558256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The surface occupies only a small part of the observed volume. Therefore, the samples representing the volume form a sparse signal. We exploit this property in reconstruction of the scene depth from one severely defocused image. We propose a compressed sensing method for the reconstruction of scene in which the observed object consists of multiple light sources. For such an object, we discuss a model of optical system whose measurement matrix collects information that is sufficient for a unique reconstruction. Furthermore, we present the reconstruction of a scene from image divided into smaller parts which can be processed independently thus reducing computational complexity. We demonstrate successful reconstruction using simulated experiments, in which the objects consist of point light sources with white and with randomly distributed luminous intensities.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121574303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system is utilized in companies to avoid long VDT work. Assuming large-volume introduction of the system into companies, the system monitors the PC user using images obtained by a common webcam considering cost performance. However, the system can hardly measure the time, i.e., cannot recognize existence of the PC user in the cases when a user wears glasses or masks. This monitoring differs from regular face recognition and it is not easy to recognize existence of a user who works in front of a monitor because users do not always face to the camera. In this research, a method for recognizing glasses and a mask in YCbCr color space has been introduced into the existing system. From experimental results that accuracy ratios for recognizing existence of a user who wears one of the items were more than 80% to 9 of 10 participants and very similar to accuracy in the existing system for users who do not wear them, we confirmed the improvement is effective enough in the system.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128091563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an improved Reconfigurable Multiplier Block (ReMB) architecture for an 8-tap Daubechies wavelet filter employed in a tree structured filter bank which targets the recent Field-Programmable-Gate-Array (FPGA) technologies. The ReMB is used to replace the expensive and power hungry multiplier blocks as well as the coefficient memories required in time-multiplexed finite impulse response filter architectures. The proposed architecture is implemented on a Kintex-7 FPGA and the resource utilization, maximum operating frequency and the estimated dynamic power consumption figures are reported and compared with the literature. The results demonstrated that the proposed architecture reduces the hard-ware utilization by 30% and improves the power consumption by 44% in comparison to architectures with general purpose multipliers. Thus, the proposed implementation can be deployed in low-cost low-power embedded platforms for portable medical devices.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"455 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134381761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It contributes machine learning and machine-to-machine communication which enables sophisticated monitoring and control of industrial process. A set of sensors and actuators are connected to a process machine called node device. The node devices simply collect the sensor data and send those data to cloud directly or through internet gateway. If the process machine or process method is changed, the node device and also should respond to fit in the new process mechanism. Even a small sensor changes lead to change in process mechanism which results more cost in upgrading the node device. To overcome these issues, an innovative re-configurable node device is proposed. Reconfigurable nodes have a special feature of customizable firmware. Here, the control algorithm of the Reconfigurable node device can be modified based on application needs. It also customizes the sensor interface routines, sensor data calibration and calculations. Process mechanism can be modified by these customized features of Reconfigurable node device. The Reconfigurable nodes help reduce the implementation cost of IoT in industrial process and makes easy to upgrade at any time.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134550909","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In massive MIMO systems, channel estimation has been widely discussed. This paper investigated on the inaccuracy of the channel estimation and its effect on the uplink rate. Best solution is to have the most efficient channel estimation method that is not adversely affected by noise, interference and pilot contamination; hence choice of MMSE method compared to others. After channel estimation, the uplink rate is calculated at the receivers with the ZF and MMSE detectors by using training or pilot symbols. We noted that the two detectors converge towards an asymptotic solution which allows the knowledge of the channel. It is shown that the estimation error increases proportionally when the L cells significantly increases. And the higher the pilot power contamination increases respectively, the decrease in dB of the uplink rate is related proportionally to the increase of the channel attenuation.","PeriodicalId":355222,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (ICFSP)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126758667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
