However, those kinds of information are difficult to obtain from experiments with humans. In this study, we described a methodology which can recreate a human body and garments in virtual reality, and evaluated the methodology in a static condition by comparing the results of simulation with experimental data, to successfully get it validated. We also applied the methodology in dynamic situations, named “Dynamic cloth simulation”, with the use of a movable digital human model that can reproduce not only the shape of the body but also skin strain distributions of the body during sports motions. An experiment was conducted to investigate the validity of Dynamic cloth simulation. A similar tendency was shown between a wearer and the digital human model in the elongation of fabric on the garment.","PeriodicalId":35429,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80569818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, it is known that synthetic dyes are widely used today when natural dye sources were used in the coloring of textile materials. In this study, it was tested whether the common mallow plant could be used as a natural dye source in the coloring of woolen fabrics without any previous extraction. For this purpose, experiments were carried out with 3 different concentrations of different mordant materials by using common mallow at the same weight with the fabric. The obtained colors and fastnesses were examined and compared with the samples dyed without use of any mordanting agent. Antibacterial analysis against Escherichia colibacteria was also performed on the sample dyed without use of any mordanting agent. As a result, it was found that the common mallow plant could be used for coloring woolen fabrics, but it was not able to give antibacterial properties to the woolen fabric under the tested experimental conditions.","PeriodicalId":35429,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering","volume":"190 1","pages":"84-90"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89037410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This function is composed of the terms representing weights of constituent yarns with their structural characteristics and frequency of use, including also variables denoting weave and design features in single or multi layer fabric structure. In some fancy and figured fabrics extra yarns are used to obtain certain aesthetic features and the general function developed should take into account the manner in which these yarns are used, according to the shedding arrangement of the loom to be employed. A method of structural and aesthetic design is, then, developed using this function, in accord with weaving and aesthetic design requirements, the structural aim being a required unit weight, the aesthetic aim being a desired figure size. The method of design is developed to secure the weavability of fabric on the loom and the dimensional stability of fabric in subsequent use.","PeriodicalId":35429,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering","volume":"28 1","pages":"123-127"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84668629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the mapping points, the conjugate cam profile was established using non-uniform rational B-splines and a mathematical model of the motion process from the uniform rotation motion input of the dobby to the vertical variable output of the heald frame was constructed. Additionally, an analytical method for each motion transmission process was established and a numerical programming method was developed. The displacement, velocity and acceleration of the modulator, cam unit and heald frame were simulated and measured using a motions simulation and test bench, and the analysis, simulation and verification results were compared. The results show that the motion characteristics of the heald frame can be obtained through the cam-linkage modulator, cam unit and the motion transmission unit. The accuracy of the constructed model was verified which lays the foundation for further exploration of more stable, reliable and high-speed dobby mechanisms that will meet the requirements of a new generation of looms.","PeriodicalId":35429,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89892892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This autoencoder has two unique features: the target area is reconstructed from the surrounding areas and the L2 loss is predicted simultaneously. The superiority of this model was verified using SEM images of defective nanofibrous materials by calculating the AUC value. The results of our experiments with the training data contaminated by defective data show that the former feature improves the robustness against contamination of the training data and the latter improves the accuracy. Although this approach did not achieve the highest accuracy, it could reduce the cost of annotation for practical use. Furthermore, we applied our method to images of NISHIJIN textiles and found that it worked well for some types of textiles.","PeriodicalId":35429,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering","volume":"24 4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82685042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tanoue","doi":"10.4188/jte.66.25","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4188/jte.66.25","url":null,"abstract":"For the purpose of making clear the mechanism of interlacing process in a slit-type interlacer, an effect of supplied air pressure on both filaments velocity and its characteristics was studied using a high-speed video camera and particle image velocimetry. Results obtained are as follows: (1) Filaments must produce an opening state of twin spirals to generate tangling parts. It was confirmed that the tangling parts were generated at smaller amount of filaments movement at high supplied air pressure and the opening state became longer time at low supplied air pressure. In addition, filaments in an opening state in left and right regions of the yarn passage need to change their relative positions by crossing the symmetric plane of yarn passage to different region above 300 to 400 filaments. This series of processes produces an interlaced yarn owing to twists accumulated at both ends of opening part. (2) Either fast filament motion or long opening state time can generate tangling parts even when the twin spiral motion of filaments was asymmetric. (3) As the supplied air pressure increased, the position-time-mean angular velocity became large, thus an increment of supplied air pressure was effective to generate tangling parts. (4) In the tangling state, the time-position-mean of magnitude of velocity increased with increasing supplied air pressure, but the time-position-mean of magnitude of its deviation was almost constant, because filaments formed one bundle. On the other hand, in the opening state, the time-position-mean of magnitude of velocity increased with increasing supplied air pressure from 0.1 MPa to 0.3 MPa, but indicated almost the same value in the supplied air pressures between 0.3 MPa and 0.5 MPa. However, the time-position-mean of deviation of magnitude of velocity was independent of the supplied air pressure. (5) This and our previous studies are available for design guideline of an optimum interlacer.","PeriodicalId":35429,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering","volume":"103 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78158757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
