However, the uptake of the technology is quite low in the industry, with little research on key constraint factors and the priority needs of the construction workforce. This study aimed to achieve three key objectives: 1) to identify the smartphone operating systems used by construction workers, 2) to identify barriers to greater uptake of mobile app technology in New Zealand Construction Industry, and 3) to determine the popularity of construction apps and their key features. Through interview-based exploratory survey method, feedback received from members of the Registered Master Builders Association of New Zealand was analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics methods. Results showed that 70% of the smart phones used by construction workers were based on iPhone's iOS, while 28% were based on Android platform, with other platforms having a small market share. Six factors were found to constrain the uptake of mobile apps in the industry, the most influential being cost of software and licensing. Findings in relation to the popular apps and their key features showed that PlanGrid – a cloud-based project collaboration and management system - was the most popular with a rating of 5/5. Others included JobFlex – an estimating and tendering software, Procore – used for project management, and SmartBidNet - used for bid management. The findings could help app developers understand the specific needs of construction workers, and improve wider uptake of mobile apps in the industry.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126810679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In response to the context and time challenges, this study improves automated conventional concept mapping by measuring the temporal and contextual distance between pairs of co-occurring concepts. After generating a conventional concept map, it is temporally and contextually augmented in this work by applying an unsupervised temporal trend detection algorithm and a novel measure of contextual proximity. This proposed approach is demonstrated and validated without loss of generality for a spectrum of information technologies, showing that the resulting assessments of temporal and contextual proximity are highly correlated with subjective assessments of experts. The contribution of this work is emphasized and magnified against the current growing attention to big data analytics in general and to big text-data analytics in particular.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"2015 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127765926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transportation problem which transports goods from m sources to n different destinations to minimize total shifting cost. A fuzzy transportation problem is a transportation problem in which the transportation costs, supply and demand quantities are fuzzy quantities. In a fuzzy transportation problem, all parameters are fuzzy number. The aim of Fuzzy transportation is to find the least transportation cost of some commodities through a capacitated network when the supply and demand of nodes and capacity and cost of edges are represented as fuzzy numbers. Fuzzy numbers may be normal or subnormal, Triangular or Trapezoidal or any Fuzzy Russell fuzzy number. Some fuzzy numbers are not directly comparable. In real life case, transportation unit costs have not been precisely determined beforehand, but they are specified by the fuzzy parameters. This paper presents a simple and efficient method that is better than the existing methods, easy to understand and also can give an optimal solution. The proposed method, improved Zero Point Method (IZPM) [10], is used for solving unbalanced fuzzy transportation problems by assuming that a decision maker is uncertain about the precise values of the transportation cost only. In this paper I would like to present, how a fuzzy transportation problem can formulate perfectly forreaching to the optimal solution.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130781163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We ensure the security of these secure protocols using somewhat homomorphic encryption (SwHE) based on ring learning with errors (ring-LWE) problem in the semi-honest model. In the PET protocol, we take two private integers input and produce the output denoting their equality or non-equality. Here the PriBET protocol is an extension of the PET protocol. So in the PriBET protocol, we take single private integer and another set of private integers as inputs and produce the output denoting whether single integer equals at least one integer in the set of integers or not. To serve this purpose, we also propose a new packing method for doing the batch equality test using few homomorphic multiplications of depth one. Here we have done our experiments at the 140-bit security level. For the lattice dimension 2048, our experiments show that the PET protocol is capable of doing any equality test of 8-bit to 2048-bit that require at most 107 milliseconds. Moreover, the PriBET protocol is capable of doing about 600 (resp., 300) equality comparisons per second for 32-bit (resp., 64-bit) integers. In addition, our experiments also show that the PriBET protocol can do more computations within the same time if the data size is smaller like 8-bit or 16-bit.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132303014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main aim of the virtual payment system is to provide efficient services in terms of cost. Online payment using credit card is one of the most expensive of all payment means. This gives advantage to micropayment systems where only small amounts are used for e-commerce. Payment which are small will be costly if paid through credit card. Therefore, there are several micropayment systems that exist and some have been proposed. One of the proposed micropayment system that this paper will talk about is Netpay. We will do model checking to check the correctness of this payment system and to see whether the protocol designers property claim is valid. Correctness is important in payment systems because money is involved in it, therefore the protocol needs to be validated. This paper examines the client-side version of the Netpay protocol and provides its formalization as a CSP model. The PAT model checker is used to prove three properties essential for correctness: impossibility of double spending, validity of an ecoin during the execution and the absence of deadlock. We prove that the protocol is executing according to its description based on the assumption that the customers and vendors are cooperative. This is a very strong assumption for system built to prevent abuse, but further analysis suggests that without it the protocol does no longer guarantee all correctness properties. We compare the two variation of the protocol with each other and with the properties claimed by the protocol designers.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132906501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A plausible option maybe a return to the future via Morse code using how a quantum bit (Qubit) reacts when entangled to suggest a cypher. This quantum cyphers uses multiple properties of unique entities that have many random radicals which makes hacking more difficult that traditional 'Rivest-Shamir-Adleman' (RSA), 'Digital Signature Algorithm' (DSA) or 'Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm' (ECDSA). Additional security is likely by Backchannelling (slipstreaming) Quantum Morse code (Q–Morse) keys composed of living and non-living entities. This means Blockchain ledger history (forwards—backwards) is audited during an active session. Verification keys are Backchannelling (slipstreaming) during the session (e.g. train driver must incrementally activate a switch otherwise the train stops) using predicted—expected sender—receiver properties as well as their past history of disconformities to random radicals encountered. In summary, Quantum Morse code (Q–Morse) plausibly is the enabler to additional security by Backchannelling (slipstreaming) during a communications session.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126514217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inspection and maintenance of elevator rope have been carried out directly by human with simple inspection gadgets traditionally. Recently however, the big gap between dramatically increasing demand of elevator inspection and insufficient manpower in the related industry, as well as the safety issues coupled with human inspection have resulted in investigations of the possibility in adopting Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for elevator rope inspection. Nevertheless, UAV's control and navigation in a relatively small (comparing to the size of UAV itself) elevator shaft with extremely low luminance and high air turbulence are the biggest challenges in this solution, especially when its bottom camera, which serves as a crucial input for hovering, is nearly unplugged. This project intends to propose and develop an effective methodology of elevator rope inspection with an UAV. Vision-based control and navigation algorithms for facilitating the UAV with autonomous elevator rope detection, tracking, and inspection have been proposed. Simulations and experiments were conducted with a real setup of elevator shaft. Experimental results verified the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method. The proposed method can address the above issues confronted by the elevator maintenance service providers.","PeriodicalId":353588,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd Asia-Pacific World Congress on Computer Science and Engineering (APWC on CSE)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114991037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
