The results reveal that 58,4% have never published a scientific article; Only 26.8% have done so in the last three years and 18.2% in the last five years. 23.8% have managed to publish in journals indexed in SciELO and 14.7% in Scopus. In 10 of the 30 universities, more than 50% of the teachers had published a scientific article and only 2 to 5 universities had teachers who have published in the last 3 and 5 years. It is concluded that the scientific production of thesis advisors in psychology in Peru is low. This can have an impact on the generation of knowledge validated by the scientific community and, therefore, on the loss of opportunities for the development of a Peruvian psychology based on scientific evidence that meet the needs of the country.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45735328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a representative sample of Montevideo, the aim of this study is to explore its psychometric properties, establish its population scales, explore its territorial distribution and evaluate the associations of the CFC with the consumption of drugs. In this study, the two-factor solution provides better fit, with adequate reliability. The CFC present significant differences according to age and sex, for which specific scales are offered. Likewise, we found mixed evidence on their territorial distribution and a small effect size on the consumption of some substances. Results are discussed based on the role of the CFC to explain behavior with intertemporal consequences.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41740144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample is composed of 61 transcriptions from people executed by the U.S. state of Texas between 2011 and 2017, that were analyzed thematically. Among the main themes we found affection, religious belief, regret, acceptance, gratefulness and sense of closure. Most themes were of positive valence, which is coherent with previous research results. Because we used an experiential and descriptive method, the assessment of methodological integrity is uncomplicated.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46908316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, the assignment of biocentric or anthropocentric motivations to people has been made in relation to the global environment. This research pays attention to one of the elements of the environment, animals, which has been neglected in environmental concern studies. Biocentric responses were more prevalent in opinions about zoos than in opinions about environmental issues. This positive assessment of animals is qualified when considering the responses on preference, fear and disgust for different animal species: (i) mammals are preferred and arthropods are rejected (comparison between taxonomic groups); and (ii) exotic species absent from Argentina ecosystems are preferred, and common species are rejected. The role that the empathic processes is discussed.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48916346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: The study was divided into 2 samples. Study 1 is a psychometric approach to determine the internal and factorial reliability of the Community Resilience Scale (CRS) in a sample of n=1007 Mexican university students. In Study 2, the sample was comprised of 1525 Mexican students from the same cities and institutions as those in sample 1. Results: In the first sample high internal reliability was found in the scale statistic, with three items being excluded. A factor solution comprising three dimensions was found: coping, humor and creativity, and collective-self-esteem, with suitable adjustment indices, replicated in a confirmatory analysis with the second sample. Moreover, it was found that a) the more victimization events, the lower the levels of community resilience, and b) the greater the collective humor, the lower the inclination to change place of residence and work. Conclusions: Results are discussed in relation to previous studies with the CRS and the impact of violence on the social fabric.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44778702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to report research conducted with 8 education professionals whose goal was to know the meanings that education professionals attribute to the homoparental family and their children's experiences in the school context. The instrument used was the dialogic interview and the results show the subjects recognize the homoparental family as a legitimate family model, with skills to raise their children. However, most of them are prejudiced and don´t feel prepared to deal with students from such families, with the homophobic bullying they experience and the prejudice of parents and the community. Thus, they request training. The analysis and articulation between the speeches of the participants, social constructionism and gender show that such issues demonstrate a naturalistic heteronormative view of sexuality and family. This study concluded that the social construction's speeches promoted new meanings to sexuality, identity categories, social inclusion, family, and training.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42017380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This syndrome brings together a large number of very diverse symptoms, ranging from chronic pain, chronic fatigue to sleep problems. Although it is an idiopathic syndrome, multiple studies suggest that its origin is related to the Central Sensitization Syndrome (SSC). We conducted a training through neurofeedback whose purpose is to improve the variables anxiety and depression. We use a standardized protocol of sensorimotor rhythms (SMR) that can improve the stability of the cerebral cortex, the training of these waves affect the dopaminergic system which in turn is related to the facilitation of positive emotions. The results show that neurofeedback improves significantly depression and anxiety disorders.","PeriodicalId":35206,"journal":{"name":"Interamerican Journal of Psychology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44000346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
