This is to ensure that the conference schedule can maximize the satisfactions of participants. Based on our findings, Domain Transformation Approach (DTA) is recently proven to be flexible in generating and producing an effective and good quality result in the preference-based conference scheduling problem. Despite generating good-quality schedules, a few shortcomings have been identified that can be further improved to optimize the schedules. Therefore, this paper proposes a new data representation that have richer information namely room sharing matrix that will be used in the DTA framework to help in optimizing the conference schedules. The main objectives of this study are to satisfy both hard and soft constraints of the problem. There is a lot of technique to analyze the load demand such as by using classical method or conventional methods. However, most of the techniques only consider univariate data sets. The purpose of the current study is to evaluate the performance of time series and regression in load demand forecasting. Time series models are considered univariate data sets while regression model considered both univariate and multivariate data sets. The adaptation to shapes and movement mechanism of pectoral fin types helps swimming motion of the main body effectively, that results in the high flexibility and maneuverability of locomotion. This paper proposes a hydrodynamic model of a type of flexible pectoral fin (FPF), which can be used to increase the robotic fish motion efficient and reduce the consumed energy. The pectoral fin has the symmetrical shape and varying thickness along the symmetrical axis. Based on the Lagrange energetic method, Assumed Mode Method (AMM), and Rayleigh-Ritz method, the mathematical model of deformation and estimated thrust of the pectoral fin is described explicitly. The effect of inertia and damping factors are modeled by the Morison force. The numerical simulations and some initial experiments are demonstrated to verify the agreement of theoretical and empirical model. To date, DR is still screened manually by ophthalmologist using fundus images due to insufficiently reliable existing automated DR detection systems. However, the manual screening process is the weakest link as it is a complicated and time-consuming process. Hence, this paper proposed an algorithm that consists of DR detection method with the aim to improve the accuracy of the existing systems. The methods used to detect DR features, namely exudates, hemorrhages and blood vessels can be categorized into several stages which are image pre-processing, vessel and hemorrhages detection, optic disc removal and exudate detection. However, the detection for blood vessel and hemorrhages was performed simultaneously due to similar intensity characteristics. The proposed algorithm was trained and tested using 49 and 89 fundus images, respectively. The images used in training were obtained from Hospital Serdang, Malaysia while images used in the testing were obtained from DIARETDB1 database. All of the images were categorized into four DR stages, namely mild Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR), moderate NPDR, severe NPDR and Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (PDR). The images were captured under various illumination conditions. To achieve this objective, a new algorithm is used to calculate on the fly the Lower and Upper Threshold Limit using Statistical Process Control theory. This new algorithm is called Dynamics Threshold Optimize System. Three sigma theories are applied in order to get the desire range for the threshold limit. These testing strategies offer solutions that can substitute exhaustive testing. In simple terms, a pairwise testing strategy significantly minimizes large input parameter values (or configuration options) of a system into a smaller set based on pairwise interaction (or combination). Fuzzy Adaptive Teaching Learning-based Optimization (ATLBO) algorithm is an improved form of Teaching Learning-based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm. ATLBO employs Mamdani fuzzy inference system to select adaptively either teacher phase or learner phase based on performance instead of blind sequential application as in original TLBO. In this paper, two pairwise testing strategies based on ATLBO and TLBO are proposed. Experimental results suggest that the proposed strategies are capable to be part of testers' toolkit as they outperformed competing meta-heuristic based pairwise testing strategies and tools on many pairwise benchmarks. Some No-Reference Image Quality Assessment Algorithm NR-IQA metrics for Contrast-Distorted Images (CDI) have been proposed in the literature, e.g. Reduced-reference Image Quality Metric for Contrast-changed images (RIQMC) and NR-IQA for Contrast-Distorted Images (NR-IQACDI). Here, we intend to improve the assessment results of images available in databases such as TID2013 and CSIQ. Most of the NR-IQA metrics (e.g. NR-IQACDI) designed for CDI adopt features available in the spatial domain. This paper proposes to compliment it with feature in Curvelet domain which is powerful in capturing multiscale and multidirectional information in an image. We employed the Natural Scene Statistics (NSS) features in Curvelet domain originally recommended by Liu et al. (2014) which were found useful in the assessment of the quality of image distorted by compression, noise and blurring. Experiments were then conducted to assess the effect of incorporating these NSS features. The experimental results based on K-fold cross validation (K ranged from 2 to 10) and statistical test showed that the performance of NRIQACDI was improved. In this context, smart cameras are one of the more popular intelligent sensor mechanisms to meet this need. As smart cameras become increasing complex, yet cheaper and smaller in size, there is a growing need for an appropriate user interface. This paper presents a user interface for smart cameras that minimizes the need for traditional hardware interfaces such as keyboard, keypad and touchscreen. The proposed solution is focused on utilizing the existing available hardware resources of the smart camera to process visual images of the user input. GaneFly is a flapping wing MAV robot developed in this paper. GaneFly flying platform is designed to be able to fly with flapping mechanism that adapts the flapping wing of the dragonfly and also designed to be able to turn and pitch according to the input command. Design of the GaneFly platform includes the selection and design of mechanical, electrical components, and integration between mechanical and electrical component. Selection of components and materials primarily in the small dimensions and lightweight but still considering the performance. The design of the mechanical adapts to the existing research of the flapping wing MAV. The result of the design is integrated parts with electrical components up to be a flying platform. The system not only can be monitored, but also can store the continuous measurement of data for long periods of time and assessible remotely without skilled staff being required to perform the analysis since the STP is normally located at hazardous and isolated location. This paper presents a water quality monitoring system using a microcontroller module technology which is powered by a solar panel. Data collected by various sensors at base station is sent via wireless channel (NRF2401) to the remote site and will be displayed at Graphical User Interface (GUI) using Visual Studio. The real-time data is saved in .txt file for further analysis.
