Several existing works already exploited to provide an acoustic streaming service over IP, LTE, Bluetooth and even Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Due to the different communication mechanism from IP, in case of Bluetooth and BLE, it is impossible to provide direct communication. To offer the advantage of IP communication over BLE device, 6lo WG over BLE is in progress. Based on 6lo BLE, we introduce our prototype of acoustic data streaming service over IP enabled BLE. We evaluate our service with various metrics such as packet loss, latency and throughput. The low-frequency activities (e.g. particular whale calls) in the hydrophone data are detected based on B-spline approximations of the hydrophone data. The error pattern of the incoming/detected signal and template signal is derived by calculating the MSEs (mean-square errors) between their B-spline approximations and compared with that of the reference signal and template signal. Here, the incoming signal is a detected (new/non-labeled) hydrophone data, whereas the reference signal is the ensemble of labeled hydrophone data and the template is a target signal that controls the detection. In the decision module, the threshold is selected based on the skewness of the error patterns. The outputs of three different classifiers are fused based on aggregation of a generated decision matrix. An ensemble class label is thereby obtained for the classification of acoustic events into multiple classes of whale calls, boat sounds and noise. In this paper, the effect of cooperative transmission on network-level achievable data rate along with energy efficiency (EE) and spectrum efficiency (SE) for downlink C-RAN architecture is studied. Extensive analysis using the stochastic geometry framework verifies the superiority of cooperative transmission in C-RAN architecture where cooperation provides up to twofold improvement in SE and a good increase in EE. One factor related to this situation is that the initial minimum contention windows size (CWmin) value in current Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) systems is set too low for the number of accessing stations. Because small CWmin values are unsuitable for high station densities, frame collisions become more commonplace and per-station communication performance decreases. In this paper, we assume that numerous stations are connected to a single access point (AP) and propose a media access control method for high station density network. In our proposed method, the AP periodically measures channel utilization and the number of stations that are transmitting frames to the AP, and then modifies the CWmin value based on these parameters. The AP then uses a beacon signal to inform the stations accessing the network of the new CWmin value. Conditions for achieving a positive SC are derived. An energy constrained untrusted cooperative relaying protocol is considered in which the relay forwards information from the source to the destination while harvesting energy from the source signal and the destination jamming signal. An optimization problem is proposed to maximize the SC subject to the energy constraints. A method is proposed to find the optimal power split ratio (PSR) which maximizes the SC. An approximate expression for the optimal PSR is also derived. Results show that a mutually beneficial relationship exists between source-destination pair and the relay. The authors proposed the joint multiple resource allocation method in a cloud computing environment that consists of multiple data centers and each data center provides the different network delay. However, it cannot provide the optimal resource allocation when it is necessary to take the total processing time (both network delay and service processing time in a data center) into consideration in allocating resources. The paper proposes to enhance the existing joint multiple resource allocation method, so as to take account of the total processing time in allocating resources and to prevent the degradation in service quality of requests from other access points when requests from a specific access point occur more than expected. The recommender was designed using a case-based reasoning (CBR) approach, and built with the myCBR framework. The recommender was later integrated into an Android application prototype, via which potential user feedback was obtained. We conducted a preliminary user study in which all participants rated their satisfaction with the recommendations above 5 on a scale of 0 to 10. The new method is based on the Chinese remainder theorem. We show that with this method all attributes, including integer and string based attributes can be efficiently encoded. Also, we show that the number of bits needed for encoding attributes could be decreased by up to 48%. To evaluate these kinds of innovations in testbeds, the ability of emulation is the key point. This paper presents a prototype design implemented in a network testbed for providing virtual nodes. By doing this, testbed users can request physical or virtual nodes to establish their experiments. This paper will demonstrate a case study deployed at Testbed@NCKU, expecting to enhance the ability of the emulation of this testbed.
