The tourism industry is commonly understood as essential for several economies. In this study, through a Panel Vector Autoregressive composed of 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, there was a relationship between the Gross Domestic Product of tourism, the Gross Domestic Product, the decomposition of the KOF Globalization Index (social, economic, and political), public investment, the exchange rate, and the population. The time horizon for the empirical analysis comprises annual information from 1995 to 2015. The results show a bidirectional relationship between social globalization and public investment. In addition, evidence shows other important results: Gross Domestic Product and Gross Domestic Product of tourism, Gross Domestic Product of tourism and public investment, and Gross Domestic Product and public investment. The empirical results contribute to the discussions on tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean, providing a theoretical basis that contributes to the deci sion-making of public and private agents.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71151984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is substantial to examine the contemporary state of transportation in India and travelers' perspectives post COVID-19 spread. The descriptive study is aimed to investigate the effect of COVID-19 on travel patterns of Indians, their tour plans, readiness for availing transportation services, and perspectives regarding the reoperation of transportation services in India. For this study, an online survey was conducted to gather primary data. A total of 212 responses were collected through convenient sampling. This study revealed that COVID-19 has extremely affected the perspectives and choices of people regarding different transportation services. They consider transportation a major cause of spreading the Corona virus and the railway was considered the riskiest. Although half of the respondents reported their readiness to avail public transportation and stated that reoperation of transportation services was done on time. However private vehicles were their priority not only for their regular travels but for future tours also. Travelers were doubtful about the effective implementation of rules and regulations in public transportation in India. The study provides useful understandings to the tourism & transportation authorities and operators regarding the travelers' perspective concerning transportation amid COVID-19. For further research, the perspective of transportation operators can be investigated for valuable insights and longitudinal research can also provide in-depth understandings.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71151997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently (2020), the global pandemic brought everything to a halt, but once tourism starts recovering again the issue of sustainable management of tourism flows and use of cultural resources in Kotor will inevitably arise again. Since the Maritime Museum is included among the most popular visiting points in Kotor, this research aims to assess its real carrying capacity in order to compare the results to the official visitor statistics and determine whether the Museum, once the noble captain family Grgurina's home, with its valuable collections is exposed to high tourism pressure. The results indicated that the Maritime Museum, together with its valuable collections, was not subject to overconsumption or \"overtourism\", since the total number of realized visits in general ,and visits by tourists organized in guided groups during 2019 was below the Museum's real carrying capacity. This paper builds on existing knowledge about the tourism carrying capacity in cultural tourism in Montenegro, suggests and elaborates concrete and replicable calculation methods, and offers useful data for sustainable management and strategic planning of visitor flows in cultural institutions situated at heritage sites.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71151350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

COVID-19 no doubt has severely impacted all the sectors of economy and hence is a point of concern and research for academia as well as industry. The budding curiosity in the impact of COVID-19 on Tourism industry by the researchers increases the need of systematic review of literature on the topic and identification of future research ways in this particular field. The study is being done to investigate the comprehensive research work on influence of COVID-19 on Tourism industry and to answer the pertinent questions in this regard, like, what has been discussed and explored so for, distribution of the selected studies/ in the indexed Journals, identification of research lines, contribution of these studies in line with these research lines and the most cited studies. For the systematic review 320 research papers were gathered, 100 among them were removed due to various reasons and the remaining 220 were used as data for the analysis of the study. By con ducting the systematic review, 8 research lines were identified and the selected studies were analysed in terms of their contribution with respect to the identified research lines. The novel ty of this study lies in the new framework developed for systematic literature review in the form of IPASTE. The study has done a comprehensive analysis of the literature on the basis of the new framework to reveal the impact of COVID 19 on the tourism industry on the basis of its six components. The study also identifies some key themes on the basis of research focus of the selected studies. The study has wider implications for mangers, researchers and academicians, to deal with the pandemic and to conduct further research.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71151707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is often positioned as a crucial part of an economic development strategy, particularly in emerging destinations, such as Serbia. As there is a growing number of destinations that recognized benefits of business tourism development, tourism professionals and destination management must be aware of key success factors for business tourism destinations, namely factors that influence the choice of host destination for a business event. Serbia has been one of the growing meeting destinations in Europe in the last decade, and Zlatibor is a desirable tourist destination in the country, with a good reputation in hosting meetings primarily in the field of medicine. This study aims to examine the success factors for business tourism destination and the attractiveness of Zlatibor for holding business events from destination stakeholders' perspective. The results could be of interest to all stakeholders in business tourism.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71150619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper aims at analysing gastronomic tourism offer in the Herzegovina region (Bosnia and Herzegovina), taking into consideration its natural and cultural characteristics, and providing recommendations for its improvement. Primary data were collected by face-to-face interviews carried out with rural tourism stakeholders, managers of tourist organizations, owners of catering facilities, winery owners and local food producers as well as a survey with visitors (tourists). Field research was conducted in July 2019 in seven cities and/or municipalities of the Herzegovina region (Mostar, Trebinje, Capljina, Ljubuski, Bileca, Nevesinje and Gacko). The first part of the paper illustrates Herzegovina as a destination rich in natural and cultural attractions with a focus on traditional cuisine. In the second part, based on the research results, the situation is assessed and recommendations for the future development of gastronomic tourism are given in order to improve the existing tourist offer. Many actors in tourism (e.g. hotels, restaurants, local community, etc.) have realized the importance of gastronomy as a catalyst for the movement of tourists and stimulation of local, regional and national economic development. Typical products, such as domestic food and wine, have been given an adequate function to characterize the tourist offer and represent in many cases the main attraction. Herzegovina region is recognizable by its traditional cuisine, which represents an important asset for the future development of gastronomic tourism. Education and raising the awareness of all actors as well as local communities about gastronomic tourism is paramount for the sector development. Local entrepreneurial endeavours can benefit from connection and exchange with partners from Europe to create a recognizable gastronomic destination in the tourism market.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71150968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research will focus on a combination of economic and non-economic variables applying a gravity model to a panel of 46 Asian countries of destination and 197 countries of origin for the period 1995-2016. The findings show that moderate levels of corruption, good quality institutions, a shared common language, religion, and border could boost international tourist arrivals to Asia. Politically unstable Asian destinations are most likely to lose tourist arrivals from Europe. Good quality institutions, strong colonial ties, language closeness, common religion and borders increase the number of international tourist arrivals to Asia from Europe, Africa, North and South America and the Pacific. A surge in rainfall and temperature would not change the willingness of tourists to travel to Asia from Europe.","PeriodicalId":34846,"journal":{"name":"Turizam","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71151087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
