The complicated process through which the therapist, as a person, must filter his/her own experiences is predicated upon and enhanced by the roles of clinician, teacher/trainer, and supervisor/consultant. In this article this reciprocal impact is examined. Suggestions are made as to how therapists can remain or become emotionally and physically healthy.
