Understanding the multifaceted determinants of this menstrual disorder is essential for developing effective interventions and improving women's well-being. This study aims to comprehensively investigate the interplay between diverse temperature living conditions, stress levels, and sleeping duration in relation to secondary oligomenorrhea. Material & Methods: to achieve our objectives, we conducted a cross-sectional survey involving a diverse cohort of women aged 18 to 23 years, all of whom had experienced secondary oligomenorrhea. We employed a carefully crafted questionnaire to collect extensive data on various aspects, including demographic information, menstrual history, exposure to different temperature conditions, and sleeping patterns. Subsequently, the collected data underwent statistical analyses, including correlation and regression analyses, to unravel the intricate associations between temperature, stress, sleeping duration, and secondary oligomenorrhea. Results: the study unveiled intriguing correlations across a spectrum of temperature conditions and identified a consistent negative correlation between sleeping duration and menstrual cycle length, regardless of temperature fluctuations. This finding suggests that longer sleeping durations are associated with slightly shorter menstrual cycles. However, the impact of stress on secondary oligomenorrhea displayed variability depending on temperature conditions, indicating a more complex relationship. Conclusion: this investigation significantly enhances our understanding of how diverse temperature living conditions, stress levels, and sleeping patterns collectively influence secondary oligomenorrhea. While the observed correlations are of moderate strength, they underscore the intricate and multifaceted nature of menstrual cycle regulation. These findings emphasize the need for a holistic approach when addressing secondary oligomenorrhea, considering factors beyond temperature, stress, and sleeping duration.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":" 46","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139137933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purpose: the study aims to examine the differences in functional ipsilateral and bilateral strength ratios among athletes in symmetrical, asymmetrical, and hybrid sports and assess how these disparities impact strength parameters. Material & Methods: the study comprised 56 male athletes aged 18-28, excluding those with lower limb injuries or limitations affecting performance. The participants were divided into symmetrical, asymmetrical, and hybrid sports categories. Strength assessment utilised an isokinetic dynamometer, focusing on quadriceps-to-hamstring strength and bilateral strength ratios. The study employed MANOVA as the major statistical test for the purpose of the study. Results: athletes in asymmetrical sports demonstrated higher bilateral symmetry in knee extensors compared to symmetrical (0.94±5.98) and hybrid sports (4.9±10.32), with values of 12.89±8.56. The functional hamstring to quadriceps (H:Q) strength ratio showed lower ratios in hybrid sports (right limb: 0.60±0.12, left limb: 0.61±0.09) compared to symmetrical (right limb: 0.79±0.16, left limb: 0.94±0.27) and asymmetrical sports (right limb: 1.05±0.26, left limb: 1.03±0.24), yet within normative values. These findings suggest that sport-specific demands significantly influence functional strength ratios, highlighting the importance of tailored training and rehabilitation programs. The observed strength asymmetries, particularly in sports with unilateral movements, underline the need for sport-specific training approaches to address these imbalances. Conclusion: the study revealed that sport-specific training can lead to strength asymmetries within normal ranges, suggesting that they may not substantially induce muscular imbalances. However, the distinct H:Q ratio patterns in hybrid sports emphasise the need for customised training and rehabilitation strategies.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":" 87","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139138300","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purpose: to analyze the dynamics of indicators for assessing impairments and limitations according to the components of the International Classification of Functioning in the process of rehabilitation of palliative pediatric patients of non-oncological profile. Material & Methods: empirical methods (comparison, description, measurement), theoretical methods (axiomatic), general logical methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization), multiple regression method. The basis of physical therapy for pediatric non-cancer palliative patients has been the biopsychosocial model presented in the International Classification of Functioning of Children and Youth (ICF-CY). Domains of ICF-CY components were selected that took into account the symptomatology of the criteria for palliative conditions. As a result, the list of domain codes in the study included 17 categories: structures and functions of the body – 6 categories (s710, b280, b710, b735, b760, b134), activity and participation – 7 categories (d310-340, d415, d465 d820, d920), environmental factors – 3 categories (e355, e320, e115). Initial patient surveys were interpreted into ICF classifiers and patient categories were generated. Results: the initial examination established the main limitations, revealed the severity of impairments in each domain, and recorded the vast majority of severe, absolute impairments in patients of both groups. A control rehabilitation assessment 24 months after the start of therapy showed positive dynamics of ICF indicators in both groups. Calculation of the dynamics of changes in classifiers showed that the components of the functioning of the body in the main group corresponded to 123,0%, in the comparison group – 52,9%, for components of activity and participation – 154,4% in the main group and comparison group – 49,9%; components Environmental factors – 81,6% in children of the main group and in patients of the comparison group, respectively – 22,9%. A reliable correlation has been established between all components of the ICF-CY version, mathematically confirmed, and the correlation coefficient is 0,787378. Conclusions: the use of the International Classification of Functioning contributed to a comprehensive examination of patients in need of non-oncological palliative care, helped to formulate a multi-vector rehabilitation program and ensured monitoring of the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":" 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139140912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials & Methods: 54 patients were randomly included in this study and allocated equally into two groups. Group-1 was managed with therapeutic ultrasound (digital ultrasound machine, a product of HMS marketed in India with frequency of 1 MHz and 3MHz) with diclofenac sodium gel and group-2 was managed with therapeutic ultrasound with aquasonic gel. Therapeutic ultrasound with diclofenac sodium gel, marketed under the name of Voltaren, was administered at a frequency of 1MHz, an intensity of 0.8 W/cm2 with continuous mode (1:1) for five times a week for 2 weeks. The patients were examined by using Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and Foot and Ankle Disability Index (FADI). They were assessed on the baseline, after 1st week, and after 2nd week of treatment. Results: one way ANOVA test was used to determine the significant difference at the 0.05 level of significance. There was reduction in NPRS and FADI p-value 0.000 after 2nd week of treatment in group-1 and group-2. But on the basis of mean difference score of NPRS and FADI, group-1 was better effective in terms of reduction of pain and improvement of function periodical manner (Table 3). Conclusion: significant dose-dependently relief was observed in NPRS and FADI for pain in disability for each group treated with diclofenac sodium gel compared with aquasonic gel using ultrasound. Acoustic streaming increased these benefits significantly when used after topical application of diclofenac sodium gel, and the dose-dependent effects of diclofenac sodium gel using therapeutic ultrasound.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":" 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139138820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material & Methods: to implement a physical rehabilitation program in the late rehabilitation period after ischemic stroke with a personalized approach with the priority use of the \"OSNOVA\" device for the restoration of locomotor functions, 10 patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke in the late rehabilitation period after undergoing sanatorium treatment were involved. Because the patients differed in pathogenesis (flaccid and spastic paralysis, left or right-sided), a personalized physical rehabilitation program was applied to each patient, but with elements of correction depending on the patient’s dynamics. All participants signed an informed consent form to participate in the study. The study used general and clinical methods of examination (medical history, patient examination), the NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) scale, which allows an objective approach to the patient's condition after a stroke and assesses neurological status, and the MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination) scale, which assesses mental state and cognitive function. Also, to implement the developed program, a device for restoring locomotor functions – \"Osnova\" – was developed. Results: a program of physical rehabilitation in the late rehabilitation period after ischemic stroke with a personalized approach with the priority use of the device \"OSNOVA\" was developed, which was conducted for three weeks and included three stages and the volume of training hours – 90. A \"success diary\" was introduced to motivate and monitor the workload during training. The data obtained showed that the average Barthel scale score is 77.1 against the initial value of 64. It should be noted that the scores increased by 17%. The NIHSS scale is 13.9 against the initial value of 10.1. We note that the scores have increased by 27%. Conclusions: the results obtained showed positive dynamics, but the development of a standard rehabilitation protocol is an open question, as there is currently insufficient data to determine the optimal duration of procedures and their intensity.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136344839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The dependence of visceral fat and glycated hemoglobin levels on the C-shaped right-sided thoracic scoliosis as stimulated through comprehensive physical therapy is being investigated. A hypodynamic lifestyle and a forced posture when sitting during working hours causes a change in the spinal rotation which deform the thorax and affect functioning of the organs. Materials and Methods: the study involved 36 patients split into two groups. The level of glycated hemoglobin was higher than 5.93% in women and 6.05% in men. The same physical and diet therapy was prescribed for the two groups. However, the main study group combined targeted exercises and kinesio-taping to reduce the scoliosis. Results: based on the distribution of χ2 the classical method of processing statistical data was applied to the study, which is well applicable for a small amount of data. The statistical data showed a linear dependence between the Cobb angle and glycosylated hemoglobin level which was especially pronounced in women prior to physical therapy. The correlation between glycosylated hemoglobin level and the Cobb angle declined in both men and women with an improvement in posture. Conclusions: with a decrease in the Cobb angle, the correlation between it and the level of glycosylated hemoglobin decreased in both men and women, which confirms the hypothesis that carbohydrate metabolism is associated with changes in the pancreas that occur due to rotational changes in the spine. By studying metabolic syndrome, even in small groups of patients, general practitioners will be able to expand the list of treatment recommendations.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136344414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material & Methods: an analysis of various approaches to assessing the effectiveness of rehabilitation services is presented, particularly in rehabilitation centers created, among other things, based on sanatorium-resort enterprises. Results: the general principle of evaluating the effectiveness of individual rehabilitation of patients based on the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) is considered. Generally accepted scales are presented that can be used to determine the corresponding category of ICF domains on patients` health status for the purpose of rehabilitation. If generally accepted scales do not match the ICF domains, it is suggested that subscales be used and definitions of quantitative values be provided following the ICF recommendations. As for quantitative characteristics, mainly instrumental, functional, and laboratory, it is also advisable to reduce them to a five-level scale. Based on the expert method, rehabilitation efficiency indicators have been developed at different levels (individual, rehabilitation center/department/institution, or state), which can be applied in different rehabilitation periods. These indicators are presented in the form of “quality trees” (“efficiency trees”). Conclusions: to quantify the effectiveness of rehabilitation, it is proposed to use a qualimetric method, in which individual performance indicators are assessed using points, and the complex indicator is the arithmetic average. The combination of principles for evaluating the effectiveness of individual rehabilitation of patients based on the ICF and the qualimetric method allows us to objectively determine the patient`s rehabilitation potential of, evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation measures at different levels and in different periods, and achieve short-term and long-term goals.","PeriodicalId":347675,"journal":{"name":"Physical rehabilitation and recreational health technologies","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136344841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
