Anxiety has an impact on declining health. Anxiety makes it difficult for patients to sleep, increases blood pressure values, and slows down the healing process. Management of patient anxiety is to avoid anxiety factors, use non-pharmacological and pharmacological therapies. In addition, combined pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy is more effective in increasing patient recovery. For this reason, this study aims to evaluate the additional non-pharmacological implementation therapy of foot reflexology and 4-7-8 breathing training in patients in the ICU. The method used is a nursing practice based on evidence-based nursing implementation. The evidence-based references used are 3 international journals indexed by Scopus. The patient selection technique used purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Furthermore, a combination of foot reflexology intervention and 4-7-8 breathing training was given for 2 days to 3 patients. The results of the evaluation showed that there was a decrease in anxiety rates and an improvement in physiological values after being given non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions. Improved physiological values are, blood pressure and respiratory rate. Additional non-pharmacological interventions foot reflexology and 4-7-8 breathing training reduce anxiety levels and improve the patient's physiological values.","PeriodicalId":34744,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Berita Ilmu Keperawatan","volume":"101 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139347565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Knowing the behavior of nurses in the workplace can have implications for the OHS culture. Objective: To explore the behavior of Indonesian nurses towards non-reported NSI in health services in Saudi Arabia. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects used typical case sampling of 12 Indonesian nurses who had work experience regarding NSI. In-depth interviews with structured questions were conducted with respondents following guidelines for data analysis using a seven step analysis by Colaizzi and Nvivo software. There were 13 categories from 4 themes found in this research about knowledge, behavior and skills also management of exposure and post exposure. The behavior of Indonesian nurses towards non-reported needle stick injury based on experience has been carried out even though the behavior, especially knowledge, attitude and skills policy on management of needle stick injury needs improvement.","PeriodicalId":34744,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Berita Ilmu Keperawatan","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139347287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stress can disrupt sleep quality, and the potential for experiencing sleep paralysis is most common in students, which can reduce students' academic abilities. This study aimed to identify the correlation between stress levels and sleep paralysis in final-year nursing students during COVID-19.; The research design describes the correlation with a Cross-Sectional approach with a total sampling technique of 238 final-year nursing students. Data were analyzed using a chi-square test; Results: with Asymp.Sig 0.012˂0.05, there is a correlation between stress levels and sleep paralysis. More than half of 152 students (63.9%) with moderate stress levels experienced sleep paralysis, a small portion of 41 (17.2%) students with severe stress levels experienced sleep paralysis and students with mild stress levels 15 (6.3%) experienced sleep paralysis; Conclusions: in this study indicate that the highest stress level experiences sleep paralysis at moderate stress levels. Students are expected to further optimize the counseling activities held by the institution, and the institution can provide interventions such as progressive muscle relaxation therapy to reduce stress levels and sleep disturbances.","PeriodicalId":34744,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Berita Ilmu Keperawatan","volume":"152 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139347188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to determine the effect of education using booklet media on the average score of adherence to a low-salt diet and fluid restriction in heart failure patients. This type of research is quasi-experimental, with the number of respondents as many as 76 people at the Sebelas Maret University Hospital, Surakarta. Data collection used a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique. The difference in the average score of low-salt diet adherence pretest-posttest in the intervention group used the Wilcoxon sign rank test, the mean value was -5.868 (p = 0.001), and in the control group, the mean was 0.316 with p 0.111. The difference in the average score of adherence to fluid restriction pretest-posttest in the intervention group used the paired sample test, the mean value was -7.289 (p = 0.001), and the control group used the Wilcoxon sign rank test, the mean value was -0.263 (p 0.095). This study concludes that there is an effect of education using booklet media on the average score of adherence to a low salt diet and fluid restriction in the intervention group. The research design that used in this research was research and development (R&D) with a quantitative approach and ADDIE development model. The trial of this application was conducted on 15 nursing students with a purposive sampling technique. The Blackbox and application eligibility test got an 83 score which showed that this application is categorized as excellent, acceptable, and suitable for use. Documentation is an important part of making nursing care which must be learned and mastered by nurses through lectures. Studying documentation from assessment to evaluation can improve the professional ability of prospective nurses in providing real implementation to patients. This application can be a useful tool for nurses as a medium for learning nursing care documentation.","PeriodicalId":34744,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Berita Ilmu Keperawatan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47899237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
