{"title":"Palestinian Universities Faculty Members' Assessment of Obstacles Hindering the Use of Future Study Methods in Educational Research","authors":"M. Assaf, أستاذ الإدارة والتخطيط التربوي المساعد","doi":"10.20428/ajqahe.13.43.4","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.20428/ajqahe.13.43.4","url":null,"abstract":": The study aimed to assess the opinions of a sample of faculty members in Palestinian universities regarding the obstacles that hinder the use of future study methods in educational research . To achieve this , the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method by administering a questionnaire consisting of obstacles distributed over three dimensions : ( methodology , knowledge and desire and convictions ) to 65 participants from Colleges of Education in Palestinian universities ( Islamia – Al - Azhar – Al - Quds – Al - Aqsa ). The results showed that the overall degree of the faculty members ' assessment of the obstacles facing future study methods in educational research was ( 72 . 81 %). The dimension ( desire and convections ) ranked first with a relative weight of ( 78 . 97 %), followed by the ( methodology ) dimension with a relative weight of ( 73 . 81 ). The dimension ( knowledge ) came in third place with a relative weight of ( 73 . 56 %). There were no statistically significant differences at the level ( α ≤ 0 . 05 ) between the mean scores of the participants ' evaluation of these obstacles due to two variables ( nature of work and age ); while there were differences attributed to the factor of specialization in favor of curricula and teaching methods . The study concluded that the efforts of researchers in the field of future studies do not exceed the research achievement , without believing in the feasibility of its results . The researchers conducted this study in the Islamic University as a case study . Thus , the researchers followed the analytical descriptive method and used a questionnaire and an interview as tools for data collection . The study sample consisted of ( 285 ) students . The main results of the study were as follows : The present situation of the academic guidance for new students in the Islamic University had a high degree with a relative weight (% 75 . 80 ), and there were no statistically significant differences between the means of the sample ratings on the present situation of the academic guidance for new students in the Islamic University due to gender variable except the dimension of social guidance which was in favor of female students . However , there were statistically significant differences due to major variable for the students of humanities , as well as due to a cumulative mean variable for students who have ( 85 % and more ) except for the dimensions of study guidance and vocational guidance . {"title":"The Effectiveness of Flipped Learning in Developing Current and Postponed Achievement among Students of the Study Skills Course at the University of Jordan","authors":"K. The study sample consisted of (49) female students of educational sciences students, enrolled in the Study Skills at course at the University of Jordan in 2017/ 2018. The study sample was divided into two groups by the purposive sampling method. The first group (the experimental group) consisted of (23) students who studied using the flipped learning, while the second group (the control group) consisted of (26) students who studied using the traditional method. To achieve the objectives of the study, the semi-experimental method was used and a test of 15 items was developed and checked for its validity and reliability. It was used to measure the current and postponed achievement. The results of the study showed statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) level in the development of the current achievement of the subjects of Study Skills between the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group. The research followed the descriptive / analytical method, and the questionnaire was used as a research tool. The sample consisted of (94) academic leaders and faculty members of the Universities of Sana'a and Science and Technology: (36) participants from Sana’a and (58) from Science and Technology. The results showed that the sample’s degree of assessment of the level of application of governance principles at Sana'a University was low with an average of (2.1056); the dimension of fairness came first and the dimension of participation received the last rank. Further, the sample’s assessment degree of the level of application of the governance principles at the University of Science and Technology was high with an average of (3.8198); the dimension of responsibility received the first rank, and the dimension of participation received the last rank. There were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the sample members in favor of the University of Science and Technology in all areas of governance. The study recommended that government universities should strive to implement the governance principles in order to increase their efficiency, effectiveness, competitiveness and quality of services. To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire was developed, which consisted of (35) items and was divided into six dimensions: leadership style, stability and job security, career promotion, salaries and remuneration, the balance between university work and social life, professional development (training and education).The questionnaire was distributed to the sample of the study, which consisted of (420) faculty members during the first semester (2018/2019). After conducting the statistical analysis of the data, the major results of the study were as follows: The quality of work life of the faculty members at Jordan University of Science and Technology was very high for all dimensions and the questionnaire as a whole. There were statistically significant differences due to the gender variable for all the dimensions of study and the tool as a whole in favor of (females) except for the dimensions of stability and job security and balance between university work and social life. There were also statistically significant differences due to the academic rank for all dimensions of the study and the tool as a whole in favor of (the associate professor, and assistant professor).
