The method is based on the minimization of a one-dimensional objective function and employs the constrained least-squares method of Selesnick, Lang, and Burrus for designing the prototype filter. When compared with other methods, the proposed method reduced the amplitude-response error in the filter bank at the expense of increased aliasing errors.","PeriodicalId":346880,"journal":{"name":"PACRIM. 2005 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and signal Processing, 2005.","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130573245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, the TST has to use two layer of time slot interchange networks. In this paper, a totally new architecture is proposed. In this architecture, a hybrid space-time switch is used for the middle stage which switches TDM signals in time and space domain at the same time. It uses a delay network to delay a TDM signal for a particular call up to n - 1 time slots. The delay and incoming and outgoing time slot for a particular call is calculated using the algorithm given in this paper. As a result, the proposed switching architecture uses m = n time slots to make a strict-sense non-blocking switch with n user per frame. Also it uses only one layer of time slot interchangers.","PeriodicalId":346880,"journal":{"name":"PACRIM. 2005 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and signal Processing, 2005.","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125708667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By assuming perfect channel estimation for all users, a fast optimal algorithm is developed to solve two classes of RRA problems: one class is to minimize the total transmission power at base station under the quality of service (QoS) constraint of each user, and the other class is to achieve maximum system data throughput under the constraints of maximal transmission power at base station and QoS of each user. The proposed algorithm is developed on the basis of the well-known branch-and-bound method. As shown in our results, the proposed algorithm offers the same performance as the optimal one achieved by using exhaustive full-search algorithm. However, the computational complexity involved in the proposed algorithm is significantly reduced.","PeriodicalId":346880,"journal":{"name":"PACRIM. 2005 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and signal Processing, 2005.","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122214471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method introduces an approximation in the solution for channel impulse response that comprises the autocorrelation coefficient of the 11 chip barker sequence and cross correlation of barker sequence with the received signal. This approximation reduces the computational complexity significantly while maintaining the same performance level. The performance of the proposed method has been studied for various wireless indoor channel models and the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":346880,"journal":{"name":"PACRIM. 2005 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and signal Processing, 2005.","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129247908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some adaptive lattice algorithms that fractional lower order moments of residual errors are used to updated the filter coefficients are presented. The performance of this algorithm is compared to that of those stochastic gradient-based algorithms. However, it is also known that students like e-learning classes, are doing well and are satisfied. We think one of the reasons that students like e-learning classes reside in using digital equipment. Operating digital equipment provides a stimulus to the monotonous classes and a sense of participation to the students. We apply the effect of using digital equipment during a class to improve the percentage of attendance. On the other hand, recently, especially in Japan, almost all students have mobile phones. In addition, almost all mobile phones have not only e-mail functions but also digital cameras. In this paper, making good use of both the effect of e-learning and the students' mobile phones, a simple and low cost attendance management system is proposed.","PeriodicalId":346880,"journal":{"name":"PACRIM. 2005 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and signal Processing, 2005.","volume":"281 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124502961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
