The pandemic situation presented significant challenges that resulted in demotivation among the community in developing the tourism potential of this area. In the context of institutional innovation, this community empowerment aims to address the demotivation of Doplang tourist village's community caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which disrupted the development of tourism potential. One crucial step in achieving this goal is to implement changes and improvements in the structure and mechanisms of organizations involved in managing the tourism destination in the village. Through institutional innovation, it is expected that more effective collaboration and synergy will be created among all parties involved. These changes aim to enhance active participation from the community in decision-making related to tourism development. Consequently, the community will play a more active role in managing their own tourist destination and collectively identifying the potential of local tourism that can be developed. The outcomes of this program also include efforts to raise awareness within the community about developing local tourism potential and creatively promoting the village through social media. Through effective collaboration among various stakeholders, it is hoped that Doplang tourist village will recover from the impact of the pandemic, increase tourist visits, stimulate the local economy, and strengthen the village's image as a competitive, sustainable, and unique tourism destination.","PeriodicalId":34657,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Community Service and Empowerment","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135082888","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The library is an effort to support education by providing teaching resources, information and references. Like libraries in other areas, Muda Bhakti library located in Ngablak Village, Srumbung District, Magelang Regency, Central Java has also reportedly experienced a decrease in visitors during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is necessary to make innovations and concrete programs that are in accordance with the situation and conditions of the local community, especially targeting children, considering children are easy targets to be educated in an interesting way. The purpose of this community service is to carry out a children's literacy movement through the reactivation of the Muda Bhakti library during the Covid-19 pandemic. There are five main programs carried out in this service, namely 1) socialization of health protocols at the Muda Bhakti library during the Covid-19 pandemic, 2) hand washing practices according to WHO standards, 3) group learning for children in the library, 4 ) competitions in the form of writing short stories and coloring, 5) donations and book processing. The elevated prevalence of dental caries among children can be attributed to poor oral hygiene practices. This situation arises partly due to improper tooth brushing routines and a preference for consuming cariogenic foods. Educational efforts have been undertaken to address proper tooth brushing techniques, promote a non-cariogenic diet that includes an increased intake of fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, and provide education on hand hygiene as well as regular visits to the dentist every six months. The primary objective of these endeavors is to enhance children's knowledge and awareness of maintaining oral and dental health, with the ultimate goal of reducing the incidence of caries among children. After counseling, it was found that children's knowledge regarding dental health increased by 26.23%.","PeriodicalId":34657,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Community Service and Empowerment","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135083612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
