Its natural resources yield various abundant commodities, one of which is forest honey. The management of forest honey by farmers in Gunung Manik Village is conducted traditionally, with little attention paid to the preservation of bee colonies, mainly due to the harvesting of bees and their hives. Conversely, farmers' knowledge of the benefits of honey remains limited. This service aims to educate the public about the advantages of honey, promoting a healthier lifestyle through regular consumption. This activity employs a direct and interactive discussion method, incorporating pre-tests and post-tests to gauge participants' comprehension of the presented material. The results of this program indicate that the residents of Gunung Manik Village have gained an understanding of the benefits of honey, leading to increased interest in regular honey consumption and the cultivation of forest honey. These developments are expected to have a positive economic impact on the residents of Gunung Manik Village.","PeriodicalId":34657,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Community Service and Empowerment","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135788443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the residents of Bode Lor Village in Plumbon District, Cirebon Regency, prefer chemical drugs for their daily treatments. The objective of this community service initiative is to impart knowledge about the benefits of traditional medicinal plants and promote the cultivation of family medicinal plants (TOGA). The methods employed in this program encompass observation, outreach, counseling, and training in the preparation of infused water and instant granules, offering an alternative to traditional medicine that can be sold, marketed, and hold economic value. The program's results demonstrated an increase in residents' knowledge regarding the benefits of traditional medicine and raised awareness about planting medicinal plants around their homes. This also included an improvement in their skills in utilizing TOGA through the creation of infused water and instant granulated ginger, ultimately contributing to increased family income.","PeriodicalId":34657,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Community Service and Empowerment","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135789903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This community service aims to assist in assessing the conditions of infrastructure and facilities in the Traditional Market of Landungsari since the availability and quality of infrastructure and facilities play a significant role in supporting the sustainable growth of the traditional market. The factors in question include the physical state of the buildings, the availability of utility infrastructure, the availability of essential public facilities, and the market’s accessibility. The study's findings were presented as suggestions for infrastructure improvement that could be used as a guide for the local government to further enhance the market's physical features. Visual assessment revealed that while the market's structure is generally in good condition, several of its components require maintenance and repair. This market needs to make improvements in terms of utility systems since it only satisfies around 25% of the standard requirements. Furthermore, as only 71% of the market's essential public facilities have been provided, additional facility development was necessary. Even though the market's building and facilities have been given adequate access, it is recommended to perform improvements in terms of wider market aisles, the addition of wheelchair-accessible pathways, and the provision of public transportation services to achieve a higher level of market accessibility.","PeriodicalId":34657,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Community Service and Empowerment","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135948763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
