Demchenko","doi":"10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.2(54).10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.2(54).10","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong><em>The purpose</em></strong><em> of the study is to identify the peculiarities of communication strategies and election technologies in all presidential elections in Ukraine in 1991–2019 as a systemic, holistic, dynamic political process and to analyze in detail their features and the transformations they underwent under the influence of the socio-political, economic, and socio-cultural situation in the country.</em></p><p><strong><em>Research methodology</em></strong><em> is based on comparative-historical, retrospective, situational and analytical methods that made it possible to highlight the problem under analysis as well as the originality of the material under the study.</em></p><p><strong><em>Results </em></strong><em>the paper focuses on each of the stages of the President elections and the evolution of the communicative strategies and election technologies used in them – from the first stage where the promoter of the nomenlklature L. Kuchma and the leader of national-patriotic forces V. Chornovol were in opposition. At that time the use of the means of agitprop and administration resource was customary. The same use of agitation and propaganda means characterized the early election of 90-s at which a new political force was put forward. It was the Ukrainian union of entrepreneurs and industrialists led by L. Kuchma.</em></p><p><em>TV communication and PR-technologies together with «printed word» editions were used further. And already the election of 2004 knew the brutal use of manipulative technologies and the work of the press dependent on oligarchs. The last election company in which a politician and an actor were in opposition became the final approval of the «pageant policy». With the help of the traditional communication (TV and cinema) and the use of digital communication the applicants transferred to virtual area. The victory won the one who felt himself more comfortably in it.</em></p><p><strong><em>Novelty</em></strong><em> is in the fact that for the first time the attempt to the systematic research of the President election process in the social-political context is done.<strong></strong></em></p><p><strong><em>Practical significance </em></strong><em>is in the identification of those election aspects that lead to the use of manipulative technologies and in the attempt to highlight the most acceptable ways to adapt the world experience to the Ukrainian reality. <strong></strong></em></p><p><strong><em>Key words: </em></strong><em>election, politics, media, «logocracy», «videocracy», stereotypes, PR-technology, manipulation, adminresource, mythologeme.</em></p>","PeriodicalId":345460,"journal":{"name":"State and Regions. A synergistic approach to determining the role and place of postmodernism in television broadcasting; development of the scientific source base was based on the application of the analytical-synthetic method; the analytical method was used to reveal the peculiarities of the effects of convergence and cross-media on television as the consequences of postmodernism; the inductive method made it possible to carry out a general analysis of existing points of view on the analyzed problem. </em></p><p><strong><em>The results.</em></strong><em> Postmodernism has led to the fact that the audience for classic television has significantly decreased, and more and more audiovisual content is moving to the network under the guise of the latest product (the consequences of postmodern convergence), and (and this is already cross-media) the classic distinction between commissioned journalism and commercial journalism is losing its relevance. The postmodern media environment, emerging in the spirit of convergence and cross-media, is becoming more and more popular alongside the most modern networked Internet media, and television in this series remains an element of a holistic communication platform. </em></p><p><strong><em>Novelty.</em></strong><em> In identifying postmodern trends in television that, in relation to classic television, signal a break with conservative thought on the air. Television content supports the concept of fragmented content, and forms are superimposed on each other with a «collage» of current usage.</em></p><p><strong><em>The practical significance</em></strong><em> is that the obtained results can be used for further scientific studies of the use model of media hybridity together with audience studies. </em></p><p><strong><em>Key words:</em></strong><em> audience, content, convergence, cross-media, Internet, postmodernism, television.</em></p>","PeriodicalId":345460,"journal":{"name":"State and Regions. The purpose of the research is to identify and generalize the trends characteristic of the development of sports journalism in Ukraine at the current stage of the development of domestic mass media and, accordingly, to form a portrait of the requirements for a modern domestic sports media worker.Research methodology. To achieve the goal, a set of research methods was applied. In particular observation, comparison, analysis (helped to clarify the essence of key concepts, elaborate scientific literature, identify trends that accompany the functioning of sports journalism, the possibilities of their influence on media activity), genre (played a role in clarifying the genre features of journalistic materials), synthesis (contributed to the formation of blocks of trends in the development of sports journalism in Ukraine and the construction of the article), generalization (influenced the formulation of intermediate and general conclusions).Results. Sports journalism is under the influence of digital and Internet technologies. This affects the intensification of its development, the operational component, promotes the promotion of traditional mass media and the emergence of new ones, in particular through social networks, on the World Wide Web. Sports journalism in Ukraine is also characterized by the weakening of professional standards, the dependence of media workers on information sources, local clubs, organizations, and institutions.Often, sports journalists are forced to form a picture of the day subjectively due to the refusal of experts to comment. An important feature of modern sports journalism in Ukraine is that its representatives strive for universality in their work, perform duties at a multifunctional level.The promotion in the Internet space contributes to the activation of the use of information genres. To a lesser extent, authors use analytical genres and the value of journalistic investigation and artistic and journalistic genres are not sufficiently appreciated.From the point of view of topics journalists pay less attention to problems in children’s, women’s and veteran sports, instead they learn more about topics that can ensure financial success for websites and improve their attendance. Sports network media mainly perform informative, advertising and entertainment functions, while the functions of public control and social criticism are almost invisible. At the same time, in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian war, the role of the ideological function in domestic means of communication has increased.Taking into account the observed trends, a portrait of the requirements for modern domestic sports media workers has been formulated.Novelty. The main trends affecting the development of domestic sports mass media have been identified, systematized and understood, and requirements for journalists with appropriate specialization have been formulated based on their analysis.Practical meaning. The scientific inquiry involves the analysis of the use of branding as a component of the complex of marketing communications of territorial communities in Zaporizhzhia, with the aim of determining its role in forming the communities’ image and effectively promoting their potential, in clarifying and generalizing the specifics of «territory brand» in the practice of community functioning, taking into account the functions and peculiarities of the branding object.Research Methodology. The aim and objectives of the investigation have necessitated the choice of interdisciplinary research methods, including analysis and synthesis, empirical practices of territorial community branding, and the consolidation of theoretical and methodological foundations of the study, including interdisciplinary interpretations of branding. At the theoretical level, the potential of the brand has been determined in the context of decentralization and the development of successful territorial communities. By means of content analysis of official community websites, instruments of informational democracy have been identified that encourage the participation of stakeholders in the political process on the information-public platform.Results. Developing a strategic vision for the development of a territorial community is an extremely important tool for ensuring its sustainable development. However, the mere existence of strategic documents will not ensure this. Territorial branding and effective marketing communications both in the internal and external information environment are the most effective resource for improving the community’s image, creating the necessary and correct positive associations and images. A brand for the community is just as important as a brand for a company, as it creates relationships with the target audience, forms emotional attachment and loyalty, integrates all interested parties, namely: community residents, business representatives, civil society, experts, and especially the growing generation of young people who live in this community. The problem of the formation of information democracy in Ukraine is conditioned by the ambivalence of the political system, associated with the departure from the principles of socialist society, and at the same time, the lack of understanding and perception of it in wide sections of society, as new mechanisms of «information democracy»are still being interpreted within the framework of the old paradigm.The novelty of the research results lies in the assertion that branding and marketing communications are an effective tool for positioning territorial communities, both in terms of shaping the image of investment attractiveness and as a means of internal consolidation and improving the lives of local residents. Solomin","doi":"10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.2(54).5","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.2(54).5","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong><em>The purpose</em></strong><em> of the research is to identify systemic threats to information security, ways of spreading Russian propaganda narratives, with inclusions, disinformation, manipulation, interference in the media environment, and ways to minimize the destructive impact on various technological platforms.</em></p><p><strong><em>Research methodology</em></strong><em>. To study the problems of interventions, systematic propaganda campaigns, the method of selection and classification of data, their processing and analysis was applied, which made it possible to reveal the current and long-term goals of the manipulation technologies involved.</em></p><p><strong><em>The results.</em></strong><em> The promotion of the narratives of the \"Russian world\" in Ukraine took place by means of hybrid war and loss of territories, systematic interference in the information field and its imbalance. For Russian propaganda, the national television and radio space has been closed since the beginning of the war, instead, Telegram channels, various sites and Messengers have become the main platforms for disinformation, fakes, interventions and actually conducting information terrorism. The international nature of Russia’s use of a whole range of means and instruments of destabilization and intervention was recognized by the European Parliament and limited or banned their main technological resources. Instead, due to the loss of opportunities to promote disinformation on their own platforms, propagandists use workarounds.</em></p><p><strong><em>Novelty.</em></strong><em> The components of informational and propaganda challenges of hybrid aggression and ongoing war in the media environment and cyberspace are universalized.</em></p><p><strong><em>Practical meaning.</em></strong><em> The results of the research can be used during the study of journalism, political science, and history disciplines. Kozyryatska","doi":"10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.2(54).16","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.2(54).16","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong><em>The purpose</em></strong><em> </em><em>of the article is to determine the lexical and semantic features of messages on religious theme, the title complex in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.</em></p><p><strong><em>Research methodology. </em></strong><em>According to the purpose of the research, a number of such methods was used: observation (to collect primary empirical materials), inductive-deductive (to define and describe the peculiarities of messages on religious topics and title complex); comparison, analysis, generalization.</em></p><p><strong><em>Results. </em></strong><em>The analysis has showed that messages of religious theme on media resources presented on the Internet are most often related to the life of Orthodox denominations (OCU and UOC MP) and the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (UGCC). The title complex and the texts of messages often include verbatives with the same meaning of speech and those close to them: verbs of reporting and transmission of information (speak up, to speak, to say); verbs to indicate the content of speech (to tell, to explain); verbs of emotional attitude and evaluation (to condemn, to blame); verbs of speech influence (to call, to appeal). Most often, verbs of speech have a neutral meaning and are devoided of expressive coloring. Sometimes phraseme (idiom) and metaphors are used in the title complex. The use of stylistically elements and tropes is more characteristic of analytical genres: allusion, paronyms, oxymorons, occasionalisms. Metonymy prevails in informational genres. Expressive means of hate speech in the title complex are also not uncommon, in particular nicknames, slang, jargon, vulgar lexis. Publications also actively use the syntactic opportunities of the language, which are typical for online-resources, in particular, sentences in which the second part after the colon does not explain the meaning of the first one, but includes «hook phrase», the purpose of which is to «force» the reader to follow the hyperlink in order to learn more («what happened»; «explained the details»).<strong></strong></em></p><p><strong><em>Novelty </em></strong><em>is that the lexical and semantic features of messages on religious theme in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet have been determined.</em></p><p><strong><em>Practical significance.</em></strong><em> The results of the research can be used in a comprehensive investigation of religious journalism in Ukraine and as educational material in the training of future journalists.</em></p><p><strong><em>Key words:</em></strong><em> religious theme, title complex, verbs of speech,</em><em> </em><em>lexical and semantic groups, hate speech.</em></p>","PeriodicalId":345460,"journal":{"name":"State and Regions. Skiban","doi":"10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.1(53).16","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32840/cpu2219-8741/2023.1(53).16","url":null,"abstract":"The purpose of the research is to outline the socio-functional purpose of the analyzed press, in particular its advertising and promotional functions, and the issues and topics relevant for the given period; to reveal the relationship between the typological characteristics of the publication and the genre palette of publications.Research methodology – the research used a complex of scientific methods: historical – to determine the nature of the transformation of the press as an object of study in Ukrainian journalism and press studies; contextual – to study the influence of socio-political, cultural, market factors on the formation of the system of thematic and classification complexes of the magazine; analytical-synthetic processing of information and generalization – to identify typological, functional and structural features of the journal of the outlined subject; content analysis with elements of discursive analysis - to establish the interdependence between typological characteristics and the classification organization of the publication, their content; for the outline and interpretation of an array of texts of various genres and various topics, on the basis of which the main trends in the formation of the contemporary literary and publishing process and the book market in general are considered; comparative - for the analysis of the annual press printing of different years; descriptive-analytical – to identify factors characteristic of the journalistic way of reflecting on the defining phenomena and processes of the contemporary book market; systemic – to determine the place of the analyzed «Print Palette» in the system of book periodicals of the contemporary Ukrainian press in general, its role in forming the foundation for modern thematically specialized media.Results. It is summarized that in 1994, a scientific and practical magazine was founded – «Palette of printing» (Lviv), which turned out to be one of the most durable among the magazines of the «generation of the 1990s»: the publication existed for more than 15 years – until 2006, respectively. And although, together with the monthly publication of the Book Chamber of Ukraine named after Ivan Fedorov «Bulletin of the Book Chamber» founded in 1996, it formed a typological group of periodicals of a scientific and practical nature that is close to the one under study, oriented mostly to specialists of several related specialties: of publishing, printing and book distribution, however, the materials of «Print Palettes» were readily read by non-specialists as well – the «book» subject always attracted its cultural «aura», and many publications were of a popular science rather than a scientific nature. With this in mind, we included the magazine «Palitra Pricha» in the circle of research presses as an example of adaptability to market conditions, effective use of the possibilities of specialized press printing as a carrier of advertising information.Novelty. The research used the historical method to analyze information about the study of cultivation theory through the prism of television and the comparative method to analyze the features of the theory on television and in new media. The methods of analysis and synthesis were used to identify the peculiarities of the cultivation theory functioning in the conditions of modern mass communication. Also, in order to obtain information from the potential target audience that is being influenced, a survey method was used. The content analysis to determine the thematic content of the «TSN. Tyzhden» news programme and the «Ukrainska Pravda» online media for 2021 – early 2022 was used.Results. The process of informatization has become so global that it has turned information into one of the most important tools of power and management. The modern world is a «world of mass media» endowed with a mechanism of self-reproduction and self-regulation. Mass media influence the world of objective reality not only by reflecting it, but also by constructing it at their own discretion. A few dozen years ago, television was the main object of research for J. Gerbner, but now «new media» are more interesting, because they personalize the Internet environment for each user according to individual preferences with the help of filters and the target function. Due to such an algorithmic system, any other information that may not be among interests and preferences disappears from the field of view. In this way, the possibility of receiving alternative information disappears, and a virtual reality is formed, in which there is only what the recipient was interested in before. Because of this, it is extremely difficult for many people to understand real events, because when they receive objective information, they may «bump» into the reality created by the filters in their minds.In order to find out whether the recipients are aware of the influence of mass communication on their consciousness, 179 people were interviewed. Many respondents indicated that they are significantly influenced by the information they receive from their sources, also, almost half of them are aware that through mass media and communication there is a suggestion regarding certain events, and as a result, it cultivates views and can significantly influence world perception.Novelty. Features of the cultivation theory’s implementation in modern media are described, as well as are new algorithms of influence on the target audience, which turned out to be much more effective than television ones. Because of this information bubble, the suggestive influence can be much stronger on the Internet than on television. Research methodology. To find out the main goal, models, and directions of wartime PR communications in the information space of Ukraine as a reflection of public relations of state and non-governmental institutions and organizations, the following methods were used: analysis, description, classification and generalization. Results. The article focuses on the role of the most effective and most relevant models of PR communication with target audiences during military operations in Ukraine.It is emphasized that all models of PR communication, which were once formed by J. Gruning and T. Hunt (press agency model, public information model, bilateral asymmetrical model, and bilateral symmetrical model) are relevant and effective during the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. Their use is a condition for preserving the unity of the nation, a condition for transparent relations between the government and society, between business and society, between civil society institutions and all state and non-governmental structures and citizens of Ukraine. These models help to identify certain phenomena in the practice of public relations, the basis of which is communication as a dynamic process of information exchange.It is noted that PR communications become the tool that allows the creation of a unified field of interconnected information, which is supported by feedback necessary for the survival of the country. The concept of public relations as an effective social and communication technology, which provides dialogue forms of interaction between different social groups during such a crisis situation as military aggression, is revealed. The role of PR communication in the shaping of information and psychological security of a state's citizens in wartime is defined. The conditions for using PR models during the specified crisis are outlined.Novelty. The scientific novelty of the study consists in determining the main goal, models and directions of wartime PR communications that have been existing in the information space of Ukraine in the period since February 24, 2022, to the current time and reflecting the presence of public relations of various state and non-state institutions and organizations. Practical meaning.
