Within the EU, the new member states from Central and Eastern Europe belong to the group of\u0000moderate innovators. As technology is the key component of the innovation system of the 2nd generation, this paper is dedicated to discussing the methods of technology transfer applied by innovation leaders in the EU (e.g. Germany or Finland) and to identifying the factors that may represent the main stumbling blocks in the way of more effective innovation procedures in the new member states (e.g. Governments´ preferences for FDI that is attracted by the relatively cheap and skilled labour force; investors´ preferences for using know-how developed in their home countries; the absence of venture capital available for R&D and technology transfers, etc.). As the situation in the new member states begins to change - wages are growing and the countries are building new research infrastructure with the help\u0000of the EU funds - a new innovation and TT paradigm enters the stage. Naglašena je važnost konferencije Dartmouth, Hanover, New Hampshire, 1956. Velike mogućnosti prikazane su i primjerom humanoidnog robota Atlas (Boston Dynamics – DARPA). Ako su\u0000ispravno motivirani javljaju se kao sveti zanos, a bez tog zanosa nema i\u0000ne može biti duhovne obnove. ‘’Svatko tko odbacuje utopiju ostavlja čovječanstvo na milost i nemilost istrumentalnoj racionalnosti’’, prepušta ga ‘’želji za moć’’ manipuliranju i diktaturi’'. In this regards, extracting facial parameter is vital and various studies have been done in this field. Hence in our proposed work, first time up to our knowledge, a robust automatic method is introduced for determining facial angles from profile view images using radon transform. Radon transform is a kind of linear integration along a specific direction and angles play an important role to do this transform. The global features were rather considered by constructing a linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and also local features were rather considered by locality preserving projection (LPP). Our proposed combined algorithm has not only good precision, but also efficient performance and robust with noisy, scale and rotated image environments. There was applied the whole complex of philosophical, general scientific and specific methods inherent in philosophical research in their interconnection and complementarity. The methodology of the research is based on the principles of systemic and structural-functional analysis. As a result of the study, it was ascertained that a man as the highest social value accumulates and fixes in the main forms of his life the interconnection of material and spiritual, which reflects in an integral form life as the objective reality, where his interconnected interests, moral values, ideals, his culture, religious preference and subjective understanding of the meaning of life are revealed. The spreading of information technology is accompanied by the virtualization of all spheres of human life. The main social problems of adaptation of a person to the changing conditions of the information society that are proposed to consider are as follows: the problem of linguistic communication, which forms the core of informatization, and the problem of information security of an individual. It is substantiated that new paradigms form new perceptions by a person of his/her place in relation to the information environment and, accordingly, a new awareness of oneself and his/her own rights and freedoms. Specificity of the modern information environment leads to the correction of existing natural and social mechanisms of a person’s adaptation and the development of new ones. Information technologies, having become the core of the modern civilization, change not only the quality and content of the life of a modern human, they threaten to transform the very way of his/her existence in the world. The transition to the information society can have unpredictable consequences. Tourism and mobility have a significant and important role, where intercultural contacts contribute to the development of intercultural dialogue. This paper attempts to explore gender differences in the perceptions of students from the Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT Croatia regarding the importance of knowing various foreign languages in tourism. The results obtained could help in raising the awareness of the importance of the role of learning and teaching foreign languages, with potential effects in developing and promoting tourism in Croatia. The key research finding is\u0000that the female students generally consider knowing foreign languages as more important than male students. This finding could indicate that women are potentially more demanding tourists. Levak, Snježana Barić Šelmić","doi":"10.32914/mcpr.9.1-2.3","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32914/mcpr.9.1-2.3","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this paper is to determine whether the younger population in Croatia is following the dominant world trends in the use of social networks as extremely widespread communication platforms. Namely, although the Facebook community currently consists of as many as two billion users and is still convincingly the most popular social network in the world, it has already been noted that members of the so-called generation Z (people born after 1995) across the world are increasingly abandoning or minorizing Facebook and turning to other social networks. To this end, the authors used the comparative method to investigate the use of several contemporary social networks and current trends in the world and Croatia, using the necessary theoretical framework. Also, during May of 2017, the authors conducted a research into online habits and attitudes on social networks – which has not yet been done in Croatia, in the authors' knowledge – by means of an online survey among secondary school students, members of generation Z, in several major and smaller Croatian cities: Zagreb, Osijek, Krk and Korčula. The results of the research confirmed the initial hypotheses of the authors: young people are increasingly leaving Facebook as a “virtual promenade”, largely because older generations began using it, including their parents; they are mostly turning to social networks that offer a prevalence of photographs over text, primarily Instagram and Snapchat. Hilčenko, Vukan Popović","doi":"10.32914/mcpr.9.1-2.5","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.32914/mcpr.9.1-2.5","url":null,"abstract":"Studenti smjera za odgajatelje na Strukovnoj školi u Subotici iz nastavnog predmeta Primjena računala u vrtiću u okviru svojih vježbi razvijaju e-didaktička učila, koja nalaze svoju praktičnu primjenu u predškolskim odgojno-obrazovnim ustanovama na teritoriju Općina Subotice, Sombora, Vrbasa i Kule. Ovakva učila su vrlo oskudna, dok su ona dostupna ili na stranom jeziku ili ne zadovaljavaju didaktičko-metodičke aspekte. Sa druge strane, prema priznanju odgojitelja, oni zaziru od takvog pristupa radu, ukoliko nije jednostavan i intuitivan u primjeni, učinkovitiji i podsticajniji djeci od tradicionalnog pristupa. Cilj rada jeste predstavljanje jednog e-učila, odnosno komparativne analize rezultata testiranja oba pristupa na istu temu. Ostvareni eksperimentalni rezultati su na strani grupe djece predškolaca iz Metodike matematike, koja je koristila e-učilo – multimedijalno-animiranu i interaktivnu PowerPoint prezentaciju ’’Što je\u0000to jedan metar?’’ na tablet računalima u odnosu na tradicionalan pristup – aktivnost odgojitelja i provjeru znanja – klasičnim (neverbalno, tekstualno-aplikativnim) testom – radnim listom s 5 zadataka. Moderna oglašivačka industrija postala je središnja institucija tržišno-industrijske ekonomije na koju se godišnje potroši više stotina milijardi dolara. Stručnjaci za medije slažu se da je učinak oglašavanja na stavove, ponašanje i emocije vrlo snažan, osobito kada se radi o djeci i mladima. Trend je da reklame rijetko prikazuju prednosti proizvoda čiju prodaju pokušavaju potaknuti, a sve više nameću određene životne stilove koje mladi usvajaju kao dio njihovih identiteta i obrazaca ponašanja. To se prvenstveno odnosi na rodne stereotipe i nerealne prikaze ženskih i muških tijela kao glavnih komponenti oglašavanja. Posebno je važno pitanje posljedica česte izloženosti rodnim stereotipima u oglašavanju na psihosocijalnoj i socijalnoj razini. Kako bi se smanjili negativni učinci reklama, potrebno je djelovati na više razina. Društvena razina uključuje provođenje odgovorne medijske politike i definiranje etičkih standarda u oglašavanju.
