The positive effect of microwave was even reinforced by the presence of a suitable added amount of activated carbon which helped to increase the microwave absorptivity of the whole reaction system. NaOH was added as the alkaline catalyst for the reaction. The optimum reaction conditions were found as the following: methanol to oil molar ratio 7:1, added NaOH concentration 1.0wt%, added active carbon amount 1.0wt%, microwave power 200W, reaction temperature 65$^{mathbf{o}}$C and reaction time 120s. The conversion rate of waste cooking oil into biodiesel in these conditions was up to 97.8% which was higher than the Taiwan CNS 15072 standard value of 96.5%.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130941255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The heat treatment processes give unsatisfactory material structure, such as inhomogeneous and coarse-grained along rolling direction (RD) and traverse direction (TD). This is mostly due to the strong texture microstructure, generated after rolling. This paper represents the heat treatment process, allowing to remove the strong texture to achieve fine grains and high hardness without cracks. This process includes three stages: (i) normalising at 950°C for 15 minutes to remove the texture; (ii) normalising twice at 840°C for 15 minutes and 760°C for 15 minutes, giving grain homogeneousness and the sizes from 10 to 20 m t m; and (iii) quenching at 850°C for 15 minutes and then rapidly cooling in water to obtain hardness from 56 to 58 HRC.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126488347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the techno-economic model to optimize investment and operation costs for the Vietnamese power system with the integration of wind and solar power within one decade. A simplified 46-bus Vietnamese power system has been tested to validate the model which minimizes the total annual system investment and operation costs. The cost-optimal case shows the possible location, total wind or solar capacity installed at each bus, and satisfies the power balance, transmission lines capability and system reserve. The paper results can be used for Vietnamese power system planning and grid expansion with a reasonable integration of renewable energy.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122182260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the low conversion of TPV system, combined heat and power system could be used to increase the overall efficiency by reusing the waste energy exhausted from TPV system. A micro combustor was designed to investigate the flame behavior through a platinum tube. Fuel, which premixed with CO, H2, CH4 and air were delivered to the micro combustor. By adjusting the ratio of H2 to CO, several flame behavior appears. Irradiance and wall temperature were measured to find out the best operation condition for PV cell to produce electricity. At last, the TPV system could assemble with a Stirling engine to capture the waste heat from TPV system. Water is the working fluid for the cooling system of Stirling engine. By absorbing the waste exhaust heat to heat up the Stirling engine, power and hot water could generated by Stirling engine simultaneously. Eventually, the overall efficiency are able to increase by assembling the Stirling engine.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121169228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
