The study's objective was to evaluate a forest's environmental quality through orchid bees as bioindicators. In this investigation, collections were made at the undergrowth level by means of \"Bottle Traps\" and manual pools by zigzag method, in which entomological networks were used; the bees will be attracted by chemical attractants such as eucalyptus oil, the essence of eugenol and vanilla essence. We obtained a relatively high abundance with capture of 1024 individuals, and a richness of 38 species, the genus that dominated the study was the genus Euglossa with 89.5%, followed by the genus Eulaema with 9.6% and the genus Eufriesea with just 0.8 %, for the genus Exaerete that it is not possible to capture individuals, The completeness curve for the general sampling carried out allows us to observe representativeness of 99%. In conclusion, despite anthropic actions, the environmental quality in Cerro Llorón is quite stable because we found a very high abundance and species richness.","PeriodicalId":34452,"journal":{"name":"Manglar","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49066185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to describe the behavior and biological cycle associated to the attack of Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart, 1835) on the species Spondias purpurea L. Biological observations were performed in Alto de la Arena, corregimiento de Veladero, Tolé district, Chiriquí province, Panamá, where it was collected a total of 12 fruits of Spondias purpurea L., then carried to the laboratory and annotations on the biological cycle and behavioral data were performed daily. It was determined the biological cycle of Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart, 1835) has a duration of 30 to 32 days in the laboratory; the immature pupal stage presented the highest mortality, possibly due to the environmental conditions in the lab, which could be influencing in an early or late start of pupal stage. It is considered that the opportune moment to take control measures of this plague in the different fruit crops is during the emergence of larvae from the fruits, when they are more vulnerable to attack by natural enemies or biological control.","PeriodicalId":34452,"journal":{"name":"Manglar","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42649442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the trend of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in the Angostura Faical Regional Conservation Area was determined and the areas were quantified based on their trend over time. Geographic information systems, remote sensing and platforms such as Google Earth Engine made it possible to obtain data from Landsat 5-7-8 satellite images, and the R programming language was also used in the RStudio integrated development environment for statistical analysis with the Mann Kendall test which is qualitative in nature. It was found that in the time series the neutral trend predominates with a normal behavior in an area of 7,304,568 hectares, in a favorable case in the vegetation, 1,489,457 hectares were found with a positive trend and with a negative trend in the vegetation one surface of 0, 458 hectares located near the La Angostura creek where runoff is captured in rainy weather. It should be considered that the monitoring of the environment is of vital importance for the conservation of natural areas and of the utmost importance for those that provide an environmental service. For this reason, the behavior of our protected areas must be known in order to make decisions with foundations and taking hold of technology","PeriodicalId":34452,"journal":{"name":"Manglar","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46874871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this research was to determine the cadaveric entomofauna and the ecological biodiversity associated with the remains of Sus scrofa domestica L. The work was carried out in the town of Chuyugual, La Libertad, a specimen of \"pig\" of 15 kg, was incinerated with diesel oil and protected with a metal cage. The insects were collected using conventional entomological techniques, species were determined with specialized taxonomic keys; for the determination of the ecological value of the cadaverous entomofauna and the most representative families were used the indices of Margalef, Simpson, Shanon and Pielou. The entomofauna found was distributed in 2 orders, 7 families, 12 species and 4 morphotypes. The 35% of relative abundance corresponds to the Calliphoridae family, 23% to the Sarcophagidae, 18% to the Staphilinidae and 6% to the Musidae, Fannidae, Dermestidae and Silphidae families. Biodiversity is high in dominance indices and the Pielou index; however, it is low in Shanon's specific wealth and equity indices. The Calliphoridae family has high diversity indexes; while the Sarcophagidae and Staphilinidae show moderate and low rates, respectively. It was concluded that the entomofauna found in the decomposition of Sus scrofa domestica belong to the order Diptera (Calliphoridae, Sarcophagidae, Muscidae and Fannidae) and Coleoptera (Staphilinidae, Silphidae and Dermestidae).","PeriodicalId":34452,"journal":{"name":"Manglar","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46512594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that the study sector corresponds to an inclined rocky coast, where mass landslides (soils) and rockslides were found, such as: rotational, earth flows, erosion gullies, falling blocks, sinkholes, planar breaks, and wedge breaks. The results identified in the studied areas highlight the importance of knowing how susceptible they are to different types of movements due to high coastal erosion due to wave incidence and other factors, on the other hand, research should be carried out to show how much the coastal retreat is (m/year) produced by landslides in these areas.","PeriodicalId":34452,"journal":{"name":"Manglar","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42372878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work was carried out during the rainy seasons of 2020 and 2021 in the Carrizal river valley, Manabí, Ecuador. The treatments evaluated were: NPK soil fertilization supplemented with foliar application of Zn and Mo (T1) and NPK soil fertilization without foliar application of Zn and Mo (T2). Grain yield (RG), agronomic efficiency of N (EAN), and the net economic benefit of fertilization (BEN) were recorded. Data were analyzed with Student's t-test for paired observations. Treatment T1 increased the RG by 15.58% and 14.03% during 2020 and 2021, respectively, concerning treatment T2. Similarly, the T1 treatment increased the EAN by 28.30% and 24.60% in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, respectively, concerning the T2 treatment. Finally, treatment T1 produced the highest BEN, with an increase of 23.05% and 16.37%, during 2020 and 2021, respectively, about treatment T2. Complementary foliar fertilization with Zn and Mo enhanced the effect of NPK soil fertilization and increased yield, profitability, and EAN in rainfed maize.","PeriodicalId":34452,"journal":{"name":"Manglar","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45032641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
