The analytical expressions of fields radiated into free space and reflected inside the waveguide are obtained for step-wise time dependence of amplitude of the exciting TEM-wave. The solution for exciting TEM-wave with arbitrary time dependence of amplitude is obtained by calculation of Duhamel's integral. The exact solution of the problem is compared with the same one obtained in Kirchhoff approximation. The spatial and time dependencies of the field radiated from the coaxial aperture are obtained experimentally to examine theoretical results. A comparative analysis of the theoretical and experimental results is made.","PeriodicalId":344401,"journal":{"name":"Conference Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory (Cat. Results are derived from performing a simulation modeling of the mean intensity and a spatial correlation function of the wave field, the dispersion of angles of arrival, and spatial correlation functions of the amplitude and phase of the wave that has propagated through a layer with random inhomogeneities of dielectric permittivity. A comparison is made of the results of calculations of fluctuation characteristics of the radio wave by approximate formulas obtained with the perturbation method with the results of simulation modeling.","PeriodicalId":344401,"journal":{"name":"Conference Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory (Cat. One of the methods of searching for seismoionospheric effects in the D-region is a radiograph of the Earth-ionosphere waveguide by VLF waves. Such research of of the parameters of the environment allows to obtain additional information about the physical mechanisms of electromagnetic precursors of earthquakes, and the solution of the given problem is directly connected to forecasting possible time intervals between the beginning of preparation and the moment of the earthquake. Records of VLF-signal amplitude show abnormal variations of different intensity above the seismically active region before and after strong earthquakes. The validity of the dependence between the registered disturbances and earthquakes can be experimentally proven either by a statistical method based on general regularities, or by the presence of special characteristics in the signal, inherent to the specific process with regard to the geophysical conditions as a whole.","PeriodicalId":344401,"journal":{"name":"Conference Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory (Cat. We have studied the possibility of bringing the tools of fractional calculus and electromagnetic theory together, and have explored and developed the topic of fractional paradigm in electromagnetic theory. Fractional calculus is a branch of mathematics that addresses the mathematical properties of operation of fractional differentiation and fractional integration operators involving derivatives and integrals to arbitrary non-integer orders. We have applied the tools of fractional calculus in various problems in electromagnetic fields and waves, and have obtained interesting results that highlight certain notable features and promising potential applications of these operators in electromagnetic theory. Moreover, since fractional derivatives/integrals are effectively the result of fractionalization of differentiation and integration operators, we have investigated the notion of fractionalization of some other linear operators in electromagnetic theory. Searching for such operator fractionalization has led us to interesting solutions in radiation and scattering problems.","PeriodicalId":344401,"journal":{"name":"Conference Proceedings 2000 International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Electromagnetic Theory (Cat.
