To prevent this dependency, a new adaptive background modeling method, is proposed in this paper for ATM video monitoring systems, based on the frame averaging method and threshold values. The proposed output of the algorithm was tested on the created ATM data set. The findings of the new approach were compared to those of the traditional Gaussian mixture model. The increased detection efficiency is due to the adaptive threshold introduced in the current background pixel determination process","PeriodicalId":342852,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Technology, Engineering, Management for Societal impact using Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Talent (TEMSMET)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131102745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the latest survey, today agriculture contributes 17 percent of our countries GDP and about 60 percent of the peoples in the county are dependent on agriculture for their daily needs. The farmers are the backbone of the country; they play a vital role in feeding the entire population of the world. Farming is a beautiful relation between the farmer and the soil; the process of farming is an art that involves various techniques and practices, the productivity of the crop depends on various factors that include soil fertility, weather condition, harvesting period and the practices the farmer follow. In the current situation, the farmers are struggling to get an expected yield from the crop because of various reasons that include large climatic changes and lack of guidance. The objective of this study is to collect the historical data of agriculture, analyze them to predict the crop yield. With the advancement in today’s technology, it is possible to provide suggestion to the farmer regarding the crop selection and the practices to get expected crop yield. One such technique that is gaining more popularity in the field of agriculture is data mining. Data mining uses the large historical data sets to create a new pattern to obtain the knowledge that helps in suggesting the farmers on selecting the crops depending on various available parameters and also helps in estimating the production of the crops.","PeriodicalId":342852,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Technology, Engineering, Management for Societal impact using Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Talent (TEMSMET)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122925625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The same scheme can be used for isolated DC-DC converters. The scheme is implemented using Average current mode control and has been tested for output voltage of 50V & high output power of up to 700W. Two nos. of 50V/7A Buck converters have been implemented in parallel so as to achieve 700W (50V/14A) output power. The scheme is simple and automatic, in the sense that no additional circuit is required to ensure equal load current sharing between them. The scheme utilizes the already existing components of control loop to achieve the objective. This design can easily be used for Auxillary Bus Regulators (ABRs) in Satellite Power system, to step down 70V bus to 40V. All the loads can be connected directly to the paralleled (n+1) DC/DC converters. In case of one DC/DC (Slave) failure other ‘n’ converters (including Master) can take over the sharing of load and thus provide redundancy in the system. As far as the loads are concerned, they will not see any change and will remain connected at the same point. Redundancy can be provided for Voltage Error Amplifier placed in ‘Master’ Converter. This design can also be upgraded to make high power Anode supply of 1.4KW (350V/4A) for HET thruster. A current sensing scheme has been implemented to sense ‘error free’ inductor current waveform during mass production of dc-dc converters.","PeriodicalId":342852,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Technology, Engineering, Management for Societal impact using Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Talent (TEMSMET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128985973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Psychology domain brought up different hypotheses and theories for the existence of the phenomenon, yet engineering research rarely addresses it. This paper introduces a model and data collection framework for choking under pressure detection in college tennis based upon sport specific parameters. Hypothesis of choking under pressure existence in tennis supported by completed questionnaires collected from 55 tennis coaches served as a foundation for the creation of the choking detection model and the development of the data collection framework. There are 19 sport specific parameters selected to be measured and observed in the study using three wearable sensors and a video camera. Data were collected with four participants completing a total of nine tennis sessions. Data analysis and visualization of forehand and backhand topspin stroke swing speed measurements indicate that certain choking moments in college tennis matches can be detected solely based on the swing speed performance of the players. Results and collected data support the practicality of the presented model and demonstrate feasibility of the proposed study. The future plan for the research is to collect data for a total of 60 tennis sessions with a total of 15 participants, and to apply machine learning methods to all the gathered data of all the proposed sport specific variables in order to expand the data investigation for a potential discovery of additional choking under pressure patterns in college tennis.","PeriodicalId":342852,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Technology, Engineering, Management for Societal impact using Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Talent (TEMSMET)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131551170","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, less attention has been paid to whether or not this way of thinking and methodological processes can be fully applied to specific settings like medical startups. Some challenges such as implementation, resource allocation, working procedures, and organizational transformation could be different in shapes and forms and in intensity vis-à-vis medical startups. The study aims to cope with this deficiency by, firstly, reviewing previous empirical studies that presented process models, challenges, and positive effects of the agile manifesto and the agile-stage-gate model on well-established firms. Secondly, to investigate the agile application in startup settings, the researchers conducted a longitudinal case study by drawing on a successful medical product startup in Thailand that has engaged in the actual implementation of the agile manifesto and agile-stage-gate model in its product development. Thirdly, the study compared the results of implementing the agile in large firms and the medical startup case in this study to investigate similarities and differences in terms of challenges and effects. The study showed both correlations in the same and contrasting directions of the previous studies and the case study’s results. The findings of this study can be created and categorized into four aspects of applying the agile-stage-gate in a startup, including balance transformation, work process, person-job fit, and team collaboration. Additionally, the study revealed the relationship among these four aspects, which together form an agile model for medical startups that balance between the long-term objectives and short-term goals, the adaptability and predictability, and the flexibility and rigidity of the set objectives.","PeriodicalId":342852,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Technology, Engineering, Management for Societal impact using Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Talent (TEMSMET)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124096514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It accounts for 10% of the hematologic cancers. There do exist targeted drugs for multiple myeloma and there has been a significant improvement in outcomes of the disease. However, it has been observed that the patients do experience a relapse to the disease within first couple of years of initial diagnosis. In this paper, we aim to identify the factors that are strong predictors of a relapse within a period of 18 months. We applied decision tree algorithm for classification of profiles into two groups – high risk and low risk. High risk group being the one where the patient experienced a relapse of the disease within 18 months of initial diagnosis. Low risk group is the patients which experienced a progression free survival beyond 18 months after initial diagnosis. The data for the model was taken from published clinical trials, relevant features were taken from the published clinical trials. From these features we considered the most influential features and applied decision tree classifier for classification of the profiles. The factors that have highest impact in increasing the risk of relapse are serum albumin level, response to initial therapy, increase in serum monoclonal component, serum calcium, international staging level at the time of first diagnosis, plasma cell levels in bone marrow and freely circulating plasma cells. We applied Kaplan Meier survival analysis to predict the probability of relapse and median time to relapse in both risk groups. These results can be used to provide customized drug combinations to enable better outcomes for the patients.","PeriodicalId":342852,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Technology, Engineering, Management for Societal impact using Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Talent (TEMSMET)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131552901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And these protect human health. The resource preservation towards traditional medicine has important implications found by the R&D of medicine leaf. Identifying the medicinal plants manually is a time-consuming process that requires the help of experts for plant identification. This paper comes up with a robotic system for the classification in the medical field, which is towards restricting manual classification, which is based on medicinal plant identification. The proposed system has three modules, namely pre-processing of the image, image feature extraction, and later the image classification. In the initial pre-processing step, the conversion of RGB is conducted to extract the green band in the input images. The median filter method is used to remove noise present in the input images obtained from the green band. In the second step, after pre-processing, some of the features like shape, color, and texture, are extracted from the pre-processed image. The multi kernel-based support vector machine (MKSVM) classifier is used to classify the image as medicinal or regular leaf by the extracted features. The performance of the recommended methodology is examined in terms of different metrics, and performance is compared against different classification methods.
