Dibenzalaseton merupakan salah satu agen tabir surya organik yang potensial. Dalam krim tipe minyak dalam air, tingkat pemulihan fase minyak tidak selalu meningkat bahkan jika konsentrasinya tinggi. Namun, menggunakan kombinasi dua pengemulsi, seperti span 80 dan tween 80, dalam kombinasi yang optimal mungkin merupakan solusi yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan formula krim foundation yang optimum dengan kombinasi span 80 dan tween 80 sebagai emulsifier. Rumus yang dioptimalkan dibuat menggunakan Metode Simplex Lattice Design dengan bantuan Design Expert versi 10.0.1. Respon optimasi adalah pH, viskositas, adhesi, dispersibilitas dan nilai SPF. Formula optimum menghasilkan rasio span 80 dan tween 80 7,172%:3,828%. In addition, the society in South Sulawesi uses mulberry leaves as an anti-cancer. The present study aimed to investigate the cytotoxic effect of mulberry leaf extract on breast cancer cells MCF-7 and their selectivity against Vero normal cells. The dried mulberry leaves were extracted by maceration using 96% ethanol. The cytotoxic activity was determined using MTT method, while the selectivity index (SI) was calculated by comparing IC50 of MCF-7 cells against Vero cells. The results showed that the ethanol extract of mulberry leaves was toxic to MCF-7 cells with an IC50 of 75.32±2.78 µg/mL and also toxic to Vero cells (71.73±4.39 µg/mL). However, ethanol extract of mulberry leaves was not selective on MCF-7 cells with an SI value of 0.95. Kajian literatur ini bertujuan memberikan sistematik review aktivitas antikanker payudara (Solanum nigrum L.) meliputi bagian tanaman, pelarut, cara ekstraksi, serta mekanisme molekuler zat aktif secara in vitro dan in vivo. Metode kajian literatur adalah metode prisma dengan tahapan penentuan topik, penentuan rumusan masalah, pengumpulan data dari jurnal penelitian hasil penelusuran melalui google scholar dengan kata kunci cytotoxicity Solanum nigrum L. as anti-breast cancer in vitro and in vivo, menganalisis data dalam bentuk kelompok tabel, mengekstraksi data sesuai kriteria inklusi dan menarik kesimpulan sesuai rumusan masalah. Daun, batang, buah matang, buah mentah dengan ekstraksi, perkolasi, dan shokletasi menggunakan pelarut air, etanol, n-heksan, dan etil asetat memiliki aktivitas antikanker payudara. Senyawa dan golongan senyawa aktif yang berperan sebagai antikanker payudara pada Solanum nigrum L. adalah alkaloid, steroid, flavonoid, tanin, karbohidrat, dan saponin, polisakarida rhamnosa, glukosa dan galaktosa, fenolik, kumarin, asam gentisik, luteolin, apigenin, kaempferol, m- asam kumarat, antosianidin, alfa solanin. Mekanisme molekuler zat aktif ekstrak Solanum nigrum L. sebagai agen kemoterapi diantaranya sebagai antioksidan, menginduksi apoptosis, menginhibisi proliferasi, dan menstimulasi respon imun, menginduksi aktivitas fagositosis. Bagian tanaman yang mempunyai efek sitotoksik pada kultur sel kanker yang sudah diteliti yaitu batang, daun, bunga dan biji. Kajian literatur ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas sitotoksik terhadap kultur sel kanker, kandungan senyawa aktif yang berperan dan mekanisme aksi.Kajian literatur ini menggunakan metode naratif review dengan cara mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber dan pustaka dengan beberapa jurnal dan artikel ilmiah. Jurnal yang diperoleh sebanyak 20 jurnal yang sesuai dengan aktivitas antikanker pada tanaman bunga matahariHasil yang didapatkan diketahui bahwa tanaman bunga matahari mempunyai aktivitas sitotoksik pada berbagai kultur sel kanker berupa Sel A549, Caco -2, RD, limfosit B, Raji, A375, MDA –AMB 231, HCT 116, T98G, Hela dan Neuroblastoma. Kandungan senyawa aktif yang berperan berupa 5-pentildihidrofuran-2(3H)-satu, (Z)-metil 4-(isobutiriloksi) but-3-enoat, dan asam 2-fenilasetat, Flavonid, asam palimitat, asam linolenat, asam -Linoleat dan asam Stearidonic, Terpenoid, sesquiterpen dan steroid, asam palimitat, asam linolenat, asam -Linoleat dan asam Stearidonic, terpinene, terpinolene dan linalool alkaloid, glikosida. Mekanisme aksi pada tanaman ini menghambat apoptosis, proliferasi sel, transformasi sel, metastasis, viabilitas sel, mempengaruhi jalur apoptosis terhadap siklus sel pada fase G1, fase S, dan fase G2 / M. One of Indonesia's traditional medicinal plants that have antioxidant activity is sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Brum) Ness.). This study aimed to examine the antioxidant activity of the extract of bitter root (A. paniculata (Brum) Ness.). The ethanol extract was obtained by extracting the bitter root powder by maceration for 3x24 hours and remaceration for 2x24 hours. The resulting extract is a thick blackish brown extract and has a distinctive odor with a percentage yield of 6.67%. Antioxidant activity was measured by reducing DPPH free radicals with UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm. The results showed that sambiloto root extract had very strong antioxidant activity with an IC5016,634 g/mL value against DPPH free radicals.Keywords : Bitter root, antioxidant, DPPH AbstrakAntioksidan merupakan senyawa yang dapat menghambat reaksi radikal bebas dalam tubuh. Salah satu tumbuhan obat tradisional Indonesia yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan adalah sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Brum) Ness.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak akar sambiloto (A. paniculata (Brum) Ness.). Ekstrak etanol diperoleh dengan mengektraksi serbuk akar sambiloto dengan cara maserasi selama 3x24 jam dan dilakukan remaserasi kembali selama 2x24 jam. Ekstrak yang dihasilkan merupakan ekstrak kental berwarna coklat kehitaman dan bau khas dengan persen rendamen sebesar 6.67 %. Aktivitas antioksidan diukur melalui peredaman radikal bebas DPPH dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. The body's defense system can be activated by providing immunomodulators that can be used to increase an immune response. Vitamin C is one of the vitamins that are often consumed by Indonesian as an effort to improve immune system. Based on the current state of the pandemic, the purpose of this research was to conduct a literature review on the mechanism of action of vitamin C as an immunomodulator and methods used to determine the mechanism of action. Method that used in the preparation of this article by doing some online research using accredited journal sites such as PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, and Google Schoolar. Vitamin C have immunomodulatory activities i.e. immunostimulants, and immunosuppressant. Tubuh dalam melindungi diri dari serangan mikroorganisme patogen termasuk virus penyebab covid-19 melalui sistem modulasi. Sistem pertahanan tubuh dapat diaktifkan dengan memberikan imunomodulator yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan respon imun seseorang. Vitamin C atau yang dikenal dengan asam askorbat merupakan salah satu vitamin yang sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Indonesia sebagai salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan sistem imun. Berdasarkan kondisi pandemi covid-19 yang sedang merambah di dunia ini, maka tujuan dilakukannya penelitian adalah untuk melakukan literature review tentang mekanisme aksi vitamin C sebagai Imunomodulator dan metode yang digunakan dalam menentukan mekanisme aksi imunomodulator vitamin C. Benth.) contained flavonoid compounds that has antioxidants properties. This study aimed to formulate peel-off gel mask ethanol extract from Miana leaves became peel-off gel mask that is physically stable and to knows the type of base that form a formulation with good physical quality based on the test parameters of physical properties and the stability of preparation. Formulation of peel-off gel mask ethanol extract of miana leaves used three different types of base, they are HPMC, Carbopol, and Na.CMC. Each formula is differentiated based on base of concentration which were HPMC 4%, carbopol 1%, and Na.CMC 3%. Evaluation to predict the physical stability of the preparation included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, dispersion test, adhesion test and dry time test. In stability test, each formula is placed at temperature 27 oC for 28 days and made observation on the 1st, 7th, 14th, 21th, and 28th day. Based on the result, the ethanol extract of Miana leaves can be formulated into a peel-off mask and formulation with HPMC and Carbopol base has a good physical quality and physically stable compared to Na.CMC base.Keywords: Miana Leaves, Peel-Off Gel Mask, Stability Teh AbstrakDaun Miana (Coleus Scutelleroides (L.) Benth.) memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan ekstrak etanol daun Miana menjadi masker gel peel-off yang stabil secara fisik serta mengetahui jenis basis yang membentuk formulasi sediaan masker dengan mutu fisik yang baik berdasarkan parameter uji sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan. Formulasi sediaan masker gel peel-off ekstrak etanol daun Miana dibuat dengan menggunakan tiga jenis basis yang berbeda yaitu HPMC, karbopol, dan Na.CMC. Masing-masing formula dibedakan berdasarkan basis konsentrasi yaitu HPMC 4%, karbopol 1%, dan Na.CMC 3%. Evaluasi yang dilakukan terhadap stabilitas fisik sediaan masker gel peel-off meliputi uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, dan uji waktu mengering. Uji stabilitas dilakukan pada suhu kamar (27 oC) selama 28 hari dan dilakukan pengamatan pada hari ke 1, 7, 14, 21, dan 28. Andong plants contain several chemical compounds including saponins, tannins, flavonoids, polyphenols, steroids. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of red andong leaf extract (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) as a radical scavenging antioxidant for DPPH. In this study red andong leaves (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) were extracted using maceration method with 70% ethanol as solvent. The results showed that anthocyanins were cyanidin. Antioxidant activity was measured by reducing DPPH free radicals with UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517 nm. The results showed that red andong red leaf extract had strong antioxidant potential with an IC50 value of 64.5197 g/mL against free radicals DPPH and vitamin C as a comparison showed a very strong antioxidant potential with an IC50 value of 2.12 g/mL.Keywords : Andong leaf, antioxidant, DPPH AbstrakDaun andong merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang terbukti memiliki berbagai khasiat diantaranya sebagai bahan obat (alami). Tanaman andong mengandung beberapa senyawa kimia diantaranya yaitu saponin, tanin, flavonoid, polifenol, Steroida. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak daun andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) sebagai antioksidan penangkal radikal DPPH. Pada penelitian ini daun andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) diekstraksi dengan menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan antosianin jenis sianidin. Aktivitas antioksidan diukur melalui peredaman radikal bebas DPPH dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. Sponges like the genus Xestospongia, are natural marine resources that have potential as anti-cancer. Thus,, this review aims to showing the potential of the genus Xestospongia as an anticancer. This review was carried out by collecting the literature from various databases from 2014 to 2019. Results obtained that marin sponge Xestospongia, including Xestospongia testudinaria, Xestospongia exigua, Xestospongia muta and Xestospongiawiedemayeri, were used as anticancer. These compounds such as Quinolizidine, Aragusterol, Araguspic and many more.Keywords— Xestospongia, anticancer, cytotoxicity Abstrak Penemuan obat baru dalam pengobatan kanker masih intensif dilakukan, salah satunya dengan pengembangan sumber daya alam laut sebagai obat anti kanker. Spons seperti genus Xestospongia, merupakan sumber daya alam laut yang memiliki potensi sebagai anti kanker. Oleh karena itu, review ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan potensispons genus Xestospongia sebagai antikanker. Review ini dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan pustaka dari berbagai database dari tahun 2014 hingga 2019. Hasil yang didapatkan bahwa spesies dari Xestospongia seperti Xestospongia testudinaria, Xestospongia exigua, Xestospongia muta dan Xestospongia wiedemayeri tercatat berpotensi sebagai antikanker. Ocimum sanctum is medical plants which have antihypercholesterolemic effects. This study aims to determine that antihypercholesterolemic activity and the best dose of roots and stems extracts of Ocimum sanctum which can provide antihypercholesterolemic effects in white rats fed a high fat diet. A total of 25 rats divided into 5 groups that is group positive control, group negative control, group roots and stems extracts of Ocimum sanctum with dose of 50 mg/kg body weight, 75 mg/kg body weight and 100 mg/kg body weight. Cholesterol and triglyseride levels measurement using the CHOP- PAP and GPO-PAP methods. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was an antihypercholesterolemic effect from the three doses of root and stem extracts Ocimum sanctum. The best dose as an antihypercholesterolemia is dose III (100 mg/kg body weight). Keywords : Antihypercholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides. ABSTRAKHiperkolesterolemia merupakan tingginya kadar total kolesterol dalam darah ≥ 200 mg/dl. Kemangi hutan merupakan tanaman obat yang memiliki efek sebagai antihiperkolesterolemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antihiperkolesterolemia dan dosis yang paling baik dari ekstrak akar dan batang kemangi hutan yang dapat memberikan efek antihiperkolesterolemia pada tikus putih yang diberi pakan diet lemak tinggi. Sebanyak 25 ekor tikus dibagi 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol positif, kelompok kontrol negatif, kelompok ekstrak akar dan batang kemangi hutan dengan dosis 50 mg/kg BB, 75 mg/kg BB, dan 100 mg/kg BB. Kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida diukur menggunakan metode CHOD-PAP dan GPO-PAP. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan adanya efek antihiperkolesterolemia dari ketiga dosis ekstrak akar dan batang kemangi hutan. Dosis yang paling baik sebagai antihiperkolesterolemia adalah dosis III (100 mg/kg BB).
