Thermoelectric properties of pyrite and arsenopyrite can be used to estimate not only the temperature of their formation but also the temperature parameters of their metamorphism, as well as to characterize the generation of these minerals. The development of local methods for measuring EMF contributes to the possibility of using them for genetic constructions, especially in the study of gold sulfide-impregnated and lode-veinlet mineralization within structures of different-age orogenic belts.","PeriodicalId":341033,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the North-East Science Center","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131141962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The section is built by interbedding marine sandstones and siltstones, and is associated with the Late Permian mass extinction event. Most of the strata contain a variety of biogenic structures. Different taxonomic compositions of trace fossils and high bioturbation of Permian rocks indicate dense habitation of the basin bottom. In the Lower Triassic deposits, diversity of trace fossils sharply decreases as well as the degree of bioturbation. In the lower part of the Nekuchan suite's Triassic deposits, an interval of horizontally stratified rocks without bioturbation interbedded with rocks bioturbated by stratum has been identified. The interval is overlaid with highly bioturbated deposits, which indicates a rapid recovery of biodiversity after the Permian mass extinction.","PeriodicalId":341033,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the North-East Science Center","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129631504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

New data on habitats, relative abundance, and some population characteristics of mass species of small mammals are also reported. The basins of Lake Momontay and Lake Urultun, located at 1048 and 944 m above the sea level and belonging to the basin of the Omulyovka River upper reaches, were inspected in August 2021. Small mammals were caught using the standard trap-line and cone methods. A total of 650 trap-days and 80 cone-days were worked out; 260 animals were caught. The species composition of large and medium-size mammals was identified by traces of their life activity and by visual contacts during route surveys of the total area about 350 km2. The routes made 50 km of length. 18 species of mammals referring to 16 genera, 9 families, and 5 orders were found to inhabit the area; they prevalently belong to the most numerous and elements of the theriofauna, widespread in the North-East of Siberia boreal Holarctic (Clethrionomys rutilus, Alexandromys oeconomus, Ursus arctos, Rangifer tarandus, Alces alces) and ancient taiga Palearctic (Sorex caecutiens, S. isodon, Myopus schisticolor, Craseomys rufocanus, Martes zibellina). A new habitat (the northwestern coast of Lake Momontai) was identified for the North Siberian vole (Alexandromys hyperboreus). Besides, the findings of the equal-toothed shrew (Sorex isodon) in the study area expand its distribution borders 160-180 km to the north of the Upper Kolyma basin.","PeriodicalId":341033,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the North-East Science Center","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115432543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The largest numbers of species refer to such families as Orchidaceae (7), Cyperaceae (6), Iridaceae (4), Parmeliaceae (15), and Lobariaceae (3). The most of them are classified as low risk (LR) and vulnerable (VU); most frequently they occur in forests and on coastal rocks. The most common species are Kalopanax septemlobus, Taxus cuspidata, Pyxine sorediata, Parmotrema reticulatum, and Menegazzia terebrata. Fires, recreation, pollution and economic activities are the major causes of plant community transformations. Currently, areas containing protected species should be under close attention to protect endangered species. Protection of vascular plants and lichens should be carried out considering their populations, biological and ecological features of the species as well as their degrees of sensitivity to both natural and anthropogenic impacts.","PeriodicalId":341033,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the North-East Science Center","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124076636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

His research covered the problems of Kamchatka historical topography, toponymy, and history, early documents on the history of the North-East. The excavations of the Nizhne-Kamchatsk town made a significant contribution to the study of Russian monuments in Kamchatka. The resulting archaeological collection includes about four thousand items characterizing the material and spiritual culture of the population of the monument. The materials obtained during the study of the cultural layer are an important source for studying the material culture of Kamchatka's population.","PeriodicalId":341033,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the North-East Science Center","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129832168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tainochin Island (61°48'35\"N 159°19'35\"E) in the north of Shelikhov Bay, despite its small size, supports a very large seabird colony of seabirds. The first and the only survey of seabird colonies on the island was held back in 1994. In 2017 more than 1000 digital images of colonies were made during a single- day survey (7.06.2017). We used these digital photographs to count seabirds on the island in order to compare the current species composition and numbers with historical data. In 2017, the numerous species were the Common Murre and the Thick-billed Murre (more than 45.5 thousand individuals, two species combined), the Black-legged Kittiwake (more than 13.5 thousand individuals), and the Slaty-backed Gull (more than 1.5 thousand individuals). Common species included the Tufted Puffin (324 individuals) and the Pelagic Cormorant (280 individuals). Rare species embraced the Spectacled Guillemot (13 individuals) and the Horned Puffin (7 individuals). The Parakeet Auklet, observed in small numbers in 1994, was not recorded in 2017. The numbers of the Tufted Puffin may be underestimated, assumingly making about 1.5-2 thousand individuals. The total number of breeding seabirds (more than 61 thousand individuals) might have been stable for decades, despite the relative accessibility of the island to humans. The Common Murre population has slightly declined (from 47K to 44K individuals), presumably due to regular egg harvesting. Simultaneously, there has been an increase in the number of Slaty-backed Gulls and Pelagic Cormorants.","PeriodicalId":341033,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the North-East Science Center","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125961242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
