It is shown that the stable high-current glow discharge can be provided by inclusion of the external active resistance in the discharge gap with value not less than 80...100% of the discharge value. Alternatively, it could be done by the use of power sources with the inductive-capacitive converters. Polishchuk","doi":"10.1109/IEPS.2018.8559569","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/IEPS.2018.8559569","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents a new approach for simultaneous selective compensation of current harmonics and reactive power compensation in grid-connected doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind energy system. The proposed control algorithms are applied to the DFIG with a stator directly connected to the grid, and the rotor connected to the grid through a converter with a bi-directional energy flow. Depending on the power of the converter, the power quality can be improved by compensating the reactive power and harmonics of the grid current. It is proposed to use the observer based scheme to estimate current harmonics of the nonlinear load. This task is performed in a d-q reference frame where active and reactive current components are obvious. Positive and negative sequences are distinguished for selective compensation. It allows taking into account the influence of design parameters, nonlinearities of the electro physical and magnetic properties of active materials on changes in magnetizing currents during the operation of LTC. A new effective technique for calculating the currents of a power transformer based on 3D field simulation data of electromagnetic processes in a power transformer is developed and implemented. It has high accuracy, simplicity of numerical realization. A TT can’t be solved by methods of functional analysis, because it is a problem with variable parameters. The solution of the TT is suggested to represent in the form of the Pareto-optimal area. Nonlinearity of target functions of the TT of DG placement leads to the expansion of the Pareto-optimal solutions in the direction of the global extremums according to certain criteria. It is shown that TT can be described analytically, provided that the conduction cross sections are unchanged in the domain of admissible solutions. In this case, the polygon of the objective functions extremums sufficiently clearly describes the Pareto set. This situation will be observed with considerable resistance of the power electrical system source both at autonomous feeding of consumers from DG, and at work of DG in parallel with the power system. Changing the cross sections of conductors due to the implementation of technical limitations on emergency modes causes the first-order gap in the target functions. This leads to a significant expansion of the Pareto set. At the same time, the growth of the numerical values of individual criteria on the boundary of the Pareto set can be doubled in comparison with the minimum values. We used the Busemann metrics to develop the criteria for the assessment of the degree of asymmetry of the motor, overheating of its stator windings and the reduction of their insulation life. We found a linear dependence between the winding insulation lifespan and the relative value of the Busemann distance.
