We established the M/M/C +M queueing models where servers operate in a Markov environment and customers are allowed to abandon service (+M). Randomly occurring server breakdown induces service rates change with time. We obtain a matrix differential equation about the generation function in different server states in steady state and present how to get the expected number of customers in the system. Through some special cases we verified the correctness of this model. So this can be as a supplement of previous work.","PeriodicalId":339946,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering 20th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"373 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131857228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A variety of violations caused by airline employees' negative or discontent mood may also lead to aviation safety accidents. On the basis of the literature review, the paper starts from pay satisfaction and divides it into five parts: pay system, pay structure, pay sense of fairness, intrinsic motivation and welfare policy. According to the gray theoretical model, the paper analyzes the relevance between pay satisfaction and violations. It draws the conclusions that pay system, pay sense of fairness intrinsic motivation and violations are negatively related; pay structure, welfare policy and violations are positive related. Based on the conclusion, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":339946,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering 20th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127898565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the legitimacy management model, the study aims to answer two research question (1) what about the efficient scope of the effect of stakeholder orientation on corporate social performance? and(2) whether the stakeholder orientation and institutional condition are complementary? Through combined legitimacy view on corporate social performance, stakeholder and institutional theory, we investigate above two question based on the data of top 100 of advanced corporate social performance in China since 2009 to 2011. Empirical research has found that stakeholder orientation will likely in a higher level in much stronger institutional condition. Stakeholder orientation has an efficient effect scope on corporate social performance by the significantly reversed U-shape relationship between stakeholder orientation effect on social performance. Stakeholder orientation and institutional condition synergy leverage on corporate social performance. Institutional condition is complementary stakeholder orientation effect on corporate social performance.","PeriodicalId":339946,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering 20th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128272456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the self-determination theory, we developed and tested a theory of how human resource practices affect employee psychological empowerment and resultant employee energy in the work in this study. A survey of 227 employees from different companies showed that the human resource practices were positively related to the employee psychological empowerment including the feeling of meaning, impact, autonomy and competence. In turn, employee psychological empowerment played partial mediating role between human resource practices and employee energy in the work. Taken the 80's and 90's generation employees into account, results of the analysis indicated that employee energy in the organizations are influenced by the individual psychological condition significantly. The meaning, impact, autonomy and competence employees perceived in the work are related to the higher level of energy in the work.","PeriodicalId":339946,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering 20th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130699973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, Menzly and Ozbas (2010) study momentum on cross-industry level. The paper tests momentum and contrarian strategies of related industries in the bull and bear markets based on data of Chinese stock market. First, we construct returns of supplier and customer of industries by using the Input-Output accounts and the Chinese stock data from 2000 to 2009. Second, the paper defines the bull and bear markets in two ways. Finally, we test momentum and contrarian effects of related industries in the bull and bear markets with different market definition. We find that momentum and contrarian effects are consistent in different market states. The portfolio sorted by customer industries mainly exhibits momentum effects and the portfolio sorted by supplier industries exhibits contrarian effects.","PeriodicalId":339946,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Management Science and Engineering 20th Annual Conference Proceedings","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127955558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
