This paper aims to understand Gap attitude, skills and the implementation of work practices that have been run according to the perspective of students compared with employers. The study was conducted by conducting surveys and interviews with students of the Computer Engineering Network SMK in Siak Regency. who have carried out the internship. Research results from 32 respondents of students and employers showed that the attitude of students was good with a difference of 2-8%, basic computer and printer skills were in accordance with the industrial business world but for the basic network and medium students and students were still weak, with a difference of 4 -22%, from the aspect of the implementation of students and students as well as the business world and industry said that it was good. In general, attitude training, the implementation of internship is good but it needs to improve the basic network skills. This study aims at determining the effect of cognitive style of students consisting of field-independent and field-dependent on the application of problem solving learning strategies computer-assisted in elementary school mathematics learning. This research used experimental method with experiment class of 30 students who have a field-independent cognitive style and control class of 30 students who have a fielddependent cognitive style, and data were analyzed by independent t test. The implementation of problem solving learning strategy in elementary school mathematics learning improves learning outcomes, but the most optimal improvement of learning outcomes is shown in groups of students who have independent cognitive styles, since problem-solving strategies focus on problem solvers that can stimulate students to build their own knowledge through learning processes that requires them to analyze, manage the problem to produce a solution, which is in accordance with the character of students with independent cognitive style. The objectives of the research were to identify specific soft skills that should be mastered by students of Mechanical engineering and to develop instructional models to teach the soft skills. The research consisted of two parts: (1) to identify soft skills needed by students of Mechanical by using engineering survey and questionnaire, (2) to develop instructional models to teach soft skills, followed a modified Borg & Gail design through R&D research design. The instructional models were called six principles of soft skills instructional models, or MP2S6P. The effectiveness of the model of an experiment was conducted through a posttest-only control group design. Based on the research findings, there are 27 soft skills that should be mastered by students of Mechanical Engineering. The application of the developed MP26P model resulted in significant achievement which was better than by using conventional instruction towards the students at Mechanical Engineering Department. The teachers and students have positive perceptions about the MP2S6P model. Based on the results, it can be recommended that MP2S6P should be developed and used in teaching necessary soft skills in Vocational High Schools. In some vocational high school focusing on technology and engineering, the teaching and learning process is still conventional. This means the process is still teacher centered. in this study, the researchers developed animation multimedia-based engineering drawing materials by using Adobe Flash Player software. After the animation multimedia-based engineering drawing materials had been designed, the researchers developed the teaching and learning process so that it became student-centered. The main objective of this study is to develop innovative materials for the subject of engineering drawing for improving the competency of vocational high school students. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) which includes the design and evaluation stages. The research population includes vocational high school majoring in technology and engineering. Teaching and learning processes were conducted in two different classes: class A as a control class and class B as an experiment class. The data collection instruments used were the test, rubric, and questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, percentage, and N-gain. The findings indicate that the developed materials have particular characteristics; the materials are accessible they can be understood by students, particularly with regard to the subject of orthogonal projection which requires student’s imagination of an object or a product. Students concept mastery and understanding of the subject improved after using the designed materials, which can be categorized as a high level.
