Thus, we set out to evaluate the proportion of particle sizes of fresh feces of horses that graze different types of forages. We used the commercial instrument Nasco Digestion Analyzer to wash the samples of fresh feces and pass them through a structure of 3 stainless steel sieves with decreasing pore diameter, being: A:> 4.8 mm; B: 4.8-3.2 mm; C: 3.2-1.6 mm and D: <1.6 mm, the remnant that escapes. 31 samples of fresh feces were obtained from adult Race Purebred Horse mares. The treatments were: 1. Diet Pp (n: 9) consociated pasture; 2. Diet Ss (n: 8) soy summer greengrass; 3. Diet Mn (n: 7) corn summer greengrass and 4.Diet Aa (n: 7) oatmeal summer greengrass. The forage samples were analyzed for dry matter (MSF), in vitro digestibility (DIG), fiber in neutral detergent (NDF) and fiber in acid detergent (ADF). Our results show that the proportions accumulated by particle size of fresh stool material are different according to the type of diet (p: <0.05), for particle size greater than 4.8 mm (sieve A), being the values for each diet: Pp: 47%, Ss: 27%, Mn: 13% and Aa: 2%. We also found relationships between parameters of nutritional quality of grazed forages and particle sizes in fresh feces with significant statistical levels (p <0.05), namely: DIG: A, r: -0.51 (p: 0) , 0037); DIG: D, r: 0.57 (p: 0.0008); FDN: A, r: 0.51 (p: 0.0034); FDN: D, r: -0.56 (p: 0.0011); FDA: A, r: 0.59 (p: 0.0005); FDA: A, r: 0.63 (p: 0.0001). Replacement fluids most frequently used are the solutions of dextrose 5 %, sodium chloride 0.9 % and Ringer lactate, among others. It is essential that the solutions to be administered are in sterile conditions. In that sense, short-wave ultraviolet light (UVC), non-ionizing radiation, is a powerful antibacterial agent that disinfects without altering the color, flavor, odor or pH of the sample. The objective of this work was to study the application of UVC radiation to sterilize parenteral solutions with refrigerated storage. We worked with 5 % dextrose solution and 0.9 % physiological solution separated in control samples, untreated, and treated with UVC light. The irradiation dose received by the samples was 3.4095 J/cm2. Subsequently, they were stored in temperature controlled refrigeration chambers at 4 °C for 7 days. It was observed for the case of the irradiated samples, that there was no visible development during that time, conserving its sterility. In addition, the inactivation factor, F.I. %, was determined after 7 days. In both studied solutions , 99 to 100 % inactivation was obtained. Analyzing the obtained results , the use of irradiation with UVC light as a means of sterilization and the subsequent maintenance of the solutions at refrigeration temperatures, we consider that it constitutes an interesting and new technology to be implemented","PeriodicalId":33906,"journal":{"name":"Ciencia Veterinaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48067638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It participates in the development of the trophoblast, communication with the endometrium and it´s necessary for a correct implantation. However, the presence of this cytokine, both at the placental and systemic levels, is unknown during the period after the implantation in swine, a species that has an epitheliocorial, noninvasive, adecidua, folded and diffuse placenta. In this study, the concentration of IL-1β in sera, uterus homogenates of non-pregnant sows and homogenates of maternal and fetal placenta of different gestational periods (30, 60, 70 and 114 days) were determined. A peak IL-1β tissue concentration was observed during gestation at 60-70 days in both maternal and fetal placenta. At the systemic level, the determination demonstrated an opposite pattern, a peak in serum IL-1β levels was observed at the end of gestation. These results suggest that IL-1β is useful between the 60 and 70 days of the gestational period in a tissue level, for participation in the molecular mechanisms that allows remodeling in the placental characteristic of this period. Furthermore, the increase of the serum cytokine at the end of gestation probably aims to activate the pro-inflammatory immune system for the onset of labor and expulsion of the placentas","PeriodicalId":33906,"journal":{"name":"Ciencia Veterinaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45253725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Este proyecto tiene como propositos describir epidemiologicamente los accidentes por animales ponzonosos en el norte de La Pampa, identificar las zonas de mayor riesgo y relacionarlas con los centros de distribucion de antivenenos e instituciones asistenciales con cuidados intensivos. Se implemento un estudio epidemiologico descriptivo retrospectivo para recopilar informacion sobre los accidentes con ponzonosos en la zona norte de la provincia de La Pampa durante el periodo 2005-2017. Se emplearon fuentes de datos primarias y secundarias. Se revisaron planillas C2 de notificacion de accidentes con ponzonosos del Sistema Nacional de Vigilancia de la Salud (SNVS) y de los registros del Servicio de identificacion de especies peligrosas para la salud humana y animal de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias – Universidad Nacional de La Pampa . Se realizaron 28 entrevistas a referentes comunitarios y 10 a equipos de salud. De acuerdo a los datos del SNVS en el periodo de estudio, se registraron 6 casos de alacranismo; 21 de aracnoidismo y 3 de ofidismo. Segun las entrevistas se describieron casos de accidentes y presencia de animales ponzonosos en distintas localidades. Los centros de distribucion de antivenenos, estan acorde a las zonas donde se registraron los accidentes. A partir del analisis de los datos en el periodo estudiado, se concluye que existen subnotificaciones. En situaciones en las que los datos sobre los accidentes por ponzonosos son deficientes, resulta dificil determinar con exactitud las necesidades de antidotos. Esto lleva a las autoridades sanitarias nacionales a subestimar dichas necesidades, con la consiguiente reduccion de la distribucion de antivenenos.
