The IMF is well in demand and gradually becoming a major contributor in steel plants. In steel plants and foundries, the complete melting cycle of the IMF consists of various stages like scrap charging into the furnace, melting, refining, alloy addition and then holding it before pouring of molten metal for further process of casting. During all these processes, the electrical parameters of the power converter switching system of the IMF get change which affects the power quality of the grid supply. In this paper, the effect of characteristic and uncharacteristic harmonics of the IMF system on the power quality of grid supply is demonstrated by performing harmonic analysis of supply current, voltage and inverter current for the various stages of the melting process. Dynamic load behavior of the operation of IMF has been investigated based on simulation and practical field data results. Simulated results are verified against experimental field result of trials conducted on the actual working IMF system in the steel plant. The close agreement between the simulated and the experimental results, highlights the experimental work and may be helpful for designing of harmonic mitigation systems","PeriodicalId":335956,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Power and Advanced Computing Technologies (i-PACT)","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127487356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our modern world, more parts of our everyday lives are now dependent on electrical energy, and thus hard to find a system that is utterly independent of electricity. Extreme weather events driven by climate change are a major threat to the power systems as a majority of the grid exists above ground, hence exposed to extreme weather. Recent widespread power cuts due to severe weather have proven that power grid is vulnerable to such events. The vulnerability of power system infrastructures is generally assessed using complex network analysis, and graph theory is a prominent approach that is computationally inexpensive, however, physical characteristics of the system are disregarded. Based on the geometric configuration of power networks, various indices have been proposed to measure the importance of components with respect to their contribution to the network functionality. In this paper, we have presented a comprehensive analysis of several flow-based indices using topological and physics-based models. Numerical results are carried out on IEEE 6-bus system. The outcomes of the analysis can provide important insights to the system operators and decision-makers on enhancing power system resilience.","PeriodicalId":335956,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Power and Advanced Computing Technologies (i-PACT)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125920786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose a surgical tool segmentation and image enhancement method which can be controlled with a voice based interface. The proposed method solves problems like glare and fogging in addition to segmenting the surgical tools. A voice based interface was used so that the doctor does not have to get distracted while performing the surgery. This method can be helpful to surgeons and can also be helpful in achieving automated surgeries. For image segmentation we use Mask-RCNN and Kaldi Voice Recognition toolkit for the voice based interface. Kaldi toolkit has a great influence on the time taken by the system to understand the query.","PeriodicalId":335956,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Power and Advanced Computing Technologies (i-PACT)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123241153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The models are trained using the damped least-squares technique with reaction time, consumed/generated power, and elasticity coefficient as input variables to predict the stability as an output variable. The models' accuracy and effectiveness are compared numerically using R2 and mean square errors. For all the models, the selected activation functions at the hidden layer is tansig, and purelin at the output layer. The results demonstrated the neural network-based prediction models' adequate performance for training and testing phases. For the system under consideration, the feed-forward neural network's best performance is true in terms of least error and the highest R2 values.","PeriodicalId":335956,"journal":{"name":"2021 Innovations in Power and Advanced Computing Technologies (i-PACT)","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123520876","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of these organizations use a biometric-based attendance system to spot the attendance of employees. Few organizations use RFID cards or tags embedded in the identity card of the employee for attendance marking. Smartphone has become a handy tool for people for communication and transferring money from bank accounts and digital wallets using QR codes as a means for the transaction. However, the user, device authentication, and secure data transmission are the primary concerns in IoT networks. In recent years, blockchain arose as a decentralized data security mechanism. It has been successfully implemented as a secured mechanism for exchanging several applications, including cryptocurrencies and other areas. There are several blockchain frameworks available and discussed in the literature. The proposed work discusses the IOTDMS Blockchain framework called the Internet of Things Data Management System Chain (IOTDMS chain) built-in Python.
