La madera maciza de gomero manchado se encuentra entre tales especies en las que también se requiere conocer sus propiedades para la construcción. En el presente estudio se buscó examinar 16 propiedades físico-mecánicas de la madera del gomero manchado (Corymbia maculata) para promover su uso en la producción de construcciones bio-basadas más sostenibles. Utilizando la norma técnica brasileña NBR7190, se evaluaron dos niveles de humedad estable para averiguar el comportamiento de la madera, el primero en el punto de saturación al 30 % y el segundo en punto seco estandarizado al 12 %. 13 árboles del gomero manchado con diferentes edades fueron extraídos de diferentes bosques plantados en Brasil para obtener muestras de sus troncos. Así, se analizaron 1959 determinaciones para evaluar los resultados mediante la prueba de t con un nivel de significancia del 5 %. It was developed for using the results from the R-CRISIS software main calculations, but its principles are universal and may be adapted for any other PSHA software. The process is performed in two steps: the first is to prepare files to be used as input for the web application, and the second step consists of processing these files for new results and plots (trough the execution of programs and scripts). The work is organized in a server-client scheme, where the server side has all the required software together with the results and input files from the PSHA calculation. The software is accessed through a Web-Portal on the server side. {"title":"Seguimiento de los cambios en el uso del suelo y la cobertura del suelo utilizando tecnicas de teledeteccion y SIG en la Isla de Phu Quoc, Provincia de Kien Giang, Vietnam","authors":"Bui B. In this study, LULC changes were assessed on Phu Quoc Island, located in Kien Giang province, Vietnam, from 2001 to 2022. The study utilized remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology using Landsat images for the years 2001, 2009, and 2022. Image classification for each year was conducted through supervised classification using a maximum likelihood classifier, with the main LULC classes being forests, bare land, agricultural areas, water bodies, and built-up areas. The accuracy of the classification was evaluated using the kappa coefficient, achieving values consistently above 0.8 for all three images. Over the 20-year period (2001-2022), the area of forest, agriculture, and water bodies decreased by 14.90 km2, 30.96 km2, and 0.64 km2, respectively. Meanwhile, the areas of bare land and built-up areas increased by 22.22 km2 and 24.28 km2, respectively. Additionally, this study employed the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and the Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) to quickly assess LULC changes, obtaining results consistent with the supervised classification. Durante el estudio de las propiedades funcionales se detectó en los almidones buen contenido de amilosa, necesaria para el buen desempeño de los fluidos de perforación, pH ácido característico de los almidones naturales y buen rendimiento para la adsorción de agua. Los fluidos formulados presentaron buena reología y filtrado menor a diez para los almidones de ocumo, yuca y caña agría. Caso opuesto los almidones de mapuey y ñame congo cuyo valor fueron superiores a diez. El diseño factorial evidenció diferencias estadísticas significativas entre los almidones (bloques) con respecto al comercial, más no entre este y almidón de caña agria. Igualmente, hubo diferencias estadísticas entre las propiedades físicas de los almidones con el comercial, excepto el almidón de caña agría que solo difirió en el filtrado respecto al comercial. Guzman Ale","doi":"10.5377/nrc.v37i01.18322","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5377/nrc.v37i01.18322","url":null,"abstract":"Se ha evaluado la actividad fotocatalítica de una suspensión de dióxido de titanio comercial (FN1), depositado sobre una piedra de ignimbrita porosa, muy utilizada como material de construcción en Arequipa-Perú, con el fin de generar superficies con propiedades autolimpiantes en edificios urbanos. Se aplicó la suspensión sobre una cara del sustrato de ignimbrita por dos métodos: pulverizado y brocha. Para evaluar que su aplicación no altere el aspecto físico de la superficie del sustrato de ignimbrita, se determinó las coordenadas del color por el método CieLab, después de la aplicación del FN1 dando una variación total máxima de 2.49; mostrando una buena compatibilidad visual del revestimiento con la superficie de la ignimbrita. La actividad fotocatalítica se evaluó mediante el uso de pruebas de fotoblanqueo con los colorantes 2,6-dicloroindofenol (DCIP) y azul de metileno (AM), bajo irradiación de luz solar simulada. Therefore the strong need to have a dense enough monitoring network for this parameter. Satellite-based rainfall products have emerged in recent decades as an alternative to the more expensive gauge stations. However, a proper validation of such satellite-based products against gauge data must be performed before using their data. This study presents a validation of CHIRPS dataset against gauge data for 17 stations across Nicaragua. The performance of the product was validated at different temporal scales (daily, pentadal, monthly and annual) by different error metrics. A total of six quantitative error metrics was assessed: Bias Percentage (PBIAS), Mean Error (ME), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Pearson’s r and Nash Stucliffe Efficiency (NSE). A total three categorical indices were assessed at daily time scale: Probability of Detection (POD), False Alarm Ratio (FAR) and Critical Success Index (CSI).
