The motivation is creating new families of solitary waves. The system of equations has been combined in one partial differential equation (PDE) and the traveling wave variable has been applied to transform the resultant equation into an ordinary differential equation (ODE). The homogenous balance condition has been applied to determine the truncation variable of the G'/G expansion. Four cases are created according to the appropriate choice of the arbitrary constants relations. For each case, some new solitary wave solutions including solitons and kinks represented by trigonometric, hyperbolic, logarithmic, polynomial, and combinations of these functions.","PeriodicalId":335387,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Applied & Computational Mathematics","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125930308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As such, a new result, as an extension of the classical Sturm-Liouville problem to the fractional phenomenon, has been achieved. In this paper, the flow-field characteristics of polymer-laden produced water in a separator with coalescing plates are analyzed using computerized mathematical methods to investigate the effects with a water content of 55%, 70%, and 85%, flow rate of 3500 m3/d, 4800 m3/d, and 6000 m3/d, and duration time of 20 min, 40 min, and 60 min on flow-field properties and separating efficiency are studied. The results show that the separating efficiency is positively correlated with water content and duration time, and duration time has the greatest improvement to the separating efficiency, but the enhancement of flow rate may reduce the separating efficiency. It is also observed that the separation efficiency of free-water reached 70.9% and the water content at the oil outlet of the separator reached 20.4% at a duration time of 60 min, when the contained polymer concentration and water content in the oil-water mixture are 500 mg/L and 70%, respectively.","PeriodicalId":335387,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Applied & Computational Mathematics","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129064028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Estimating the signal quantities in the moving window is the most accurate way of monitoring these distortions. Such estimation is usually associated with significant computational loads, which can be reduced by utilizing the recursion and information matrix properties. Rank two update representation of the information matrix allows the derivation of a new computationally efficient recursive form of the inverse of this matrix and recursive parameter update law. Newton-Schulz and Richardson correction algorithms are introduced in this paper to prevent error propagation and for accuracy maintenance. Extensive comparative analysis is performed on real data for proposed recursive algorithms and the Richardson algorithm with an optimally chosen preconditioner. Recursive algorithms show the best results in estimation with ill-conditioned information matrices.","PeriodicalId":335387,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Applied & Computational Mathematics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131378804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the redundant factors (HML, CMA) are orthogonalized, and the regression analysis of the 5*5 portfolio of Size-B/M and Size-Inv is carried out with these two orthogonalized factors. It found that the HML and the CMA are still significant in many portfolios, indicating that they have a strong explanatory ability, which is also consistent with the results of GRS test. All these show that the five-factor model has a better ability to explain the excess return rate. Then, we analyze the possible reasons for the strong explanatory ability of the HML, CMA, and RMW from the aspects of price-to-book ratio, turnover rate, and correlation coefficient. The effects of nonlocal long-range interaction fields on the natural frequencies and vibration modes are examined. A simply supported micro-rod is taken as an example; the linear vibration responses are observed by two different methods, including the separation of variables and multiple scales analysis. The relations between the vibration mode and dimensionless coordinate and the relations between natural frequencies and nonlocal parameters are analyzed and discussed in detail. The numerical comparison shows that the theoretical results by two different approaches have a good agreement, which validates the present micro-rod model that can be used as a component of the micro-electromechanical system.","PeriodicalId":335387,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Applied & Computational Mathematics","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114847879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The SFT dynamics is evaluated in frequency domain; a new approach to cost-effectively optimizing TMD parameters for a moored system is suggested. Discrete-Module-Beam (DMB) method is used to model the Tunnel; mooring lines are included as equivalent stiffness matrix through static-offset tests by the fully coupled model. Since the frequency-domain dynamics simulation model is employed, a significant reduction in optimization time can be achieved. TMD is installed at the tunnel’s mid-length to mitigate the lateral motion of the Tunnel and coupled with the Tunnel with translational and rotational springs and dampers. The optimization process for TMD parameters is performed through the Genetic Algorithm (GA). The GA generates the TMD mass and spring and damping coefficients. The dynamics simulation is performed under wave conditions and this process is repeated until the stopping criteria is satisfied. Results demonstrate that TMD with optimized parameters significantly reduces the lateral motion, especially near the system’s lowest lateral natural frequency. This frequency-domain optimization also works as intended with significantly decreased optimization time.","PeriodicalId":335387,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advances in Applied & Computational Mathematics","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123831797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
