This design uses precoding and reordering of data in multiple dimensions. Hence it produces an embedded diversity due to the linear combination of all input elements. However, because of this precoding, there is a constellation expansion that needs to be controlled. It is widely known that constellation design is a complex and systematic process. We propose two sub-optimum methods aimed at reducing the constellation expansion and the implementation burden.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"339 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124768104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an efficient LPR technique based on the RGB color extractor. The proposed method is capable of recognizing alphabets and numeric characters on the license plate in real-time. This technique has been tested with a large number of images in order to analyze its performance. The tested images are captured from the front and rear of the vehicles under different conditions, including different angles, luminance, and weather conditions. With the real-time test results shown in this paper, we obtain 98.5% accuracy for character extraction and 95.1% accuracy for character recognition using this technique.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122924692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

System instabilities can be caused by the EIT design and must be characterized before and during the clinical trials. Evaluation of the Sussex EIT system used in the clinical study can be based on a realistic electronic phantom. We designed a mesh phantom based on the electrode configuration and mesh structures of the image reconstruction. The phantom has the capability of modelling the cellular electrical properties that are operative within a circular homogeneous medium. The design is optimized to assess the planar topology of the internal impedance distribution. The system employs the information from the electrical properties of biological tissues to evaluate the Cole-Cole dispersion data. This mesh phantom is capable of producing localized conductivity perturbations between each arbitrary channel in the electrode placement planar phantom topology by measuring all 1416 combinations that are to be used in the image reconstruction. The phantom is especially designed for the Sussex EIT system to validate system performance of measurements consisting of SNR, and modelling system accuracy.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125658925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research the mathematical framework of transfer entropy was applied to explore the existence of cause and effect relationship of anterior-posterior (COPy), medio-lateral (COPx) and resultant body sway (COPr) with blood pressure waveform (BPW) and calf muscle electromyogram (EMG). Simultaneous blood pressure, calf EMG, COPx, COPy and COPr data were acquired from 5 healthy young subjects during a 5-minute sit to stand test. Data from the last 4 minutes in the stand phase was analyzed for causality between the signal pairs. A moving time window of 15 second length with a 5 second overlap between successive windows resulted in a total of 23 estimates of causality. The results indicate the existence of a causal interaction between the variables in cardio-postural interactions. The BPW showed dominant causal coupling with COPx, COPy and COPr. Additionally, EMG showed dominant causal coupling with COPy and COPr, with COPx similar amount of bidirectional causality was observed. The results strongly suggest the presence of a directional causal loop from the blood pressure control center playing a central role.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133339962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a design of distributed network coding is introduced. The proposed design are based on algebraic constructions in Finite Field using symmetric Matrices. These set of codes are an alternative to Generalized Dynamic Network Codes (GDNC). A rich feature of these codes are a high diversity and ease of scalability to larger network designs. Finite fields has a unique feature of constraining the signal energy and its performance does not deteriorate much when transmitted through fading channels. Results are compared with theoretical evaluations.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116458194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed Finite Impulse Response (FIR) compensators work at low sampling rate and use as a basic building block a very simple compensator that needs only two adders. Depending on the number of integrator-comb stages, K, they require K, K-1 or K-2 cascaded building blocks. Thus, the structure of the proposed compensators remains regular, and it is independent of the decimation factor. Compared with their linear-phase counterparts, the proposed filters achieve nearly the same magnitude response improvement with a lower computational complexity.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124490249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This project proposes an IoT-based wireless sensor network with configurable nodes with multiple sensors, also known as transducers. The nodes can collect data from the surrounding environment, and present it on the cloud for universal accessibility by the users. With this system, users can easily access and analyze various data, such as temperature, humidity, motion detection, illuminance, CO gas, air quality, etc. and take necessary actions upon that information. Despite the great potential, power supply seriously restricted the application of WSNs. Especially in the environment such as rural areas, underground and underwater structures, the electrical wire or battery increases the cost of installation and brings the unexpected inconvenience. In this paper, a radio frequency (RF) powered far-field battery-less wireless sensor network is presented to overcome such limitation of electrical wire and battery in WSNs. In addition, mesh network approach is proposed to solve the data collision issue caused by the discontinuous power supply of far-field battery-less. Several experiments have been performed to test the performance of the system in a complex indoor environment. Results obtained verify the feasibility and reliability of this WSNs.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116187712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the main goal is to evaluate the effect of large-scale utilization of electric vehicles (EV) on the total system loss. In this context, first the EVs' charging demand will be obtained using two probabilistic parameters: 1) expected driven distance, 2) expected duration of charging. The result is EV demand for 24 hours period which are added to the demand at load points. Eventually we solve the optimal power flow problem in each hour. We consider parking lots as demand aggregators to find the total charging demand at each hours based on single EV's electricity consumption. Afterwards, we investigate the effect of parking lots characteristics (charging rate, capacity in terms of number of EVs, and location in the power network) on the network's hourly loss and daily energy loss. To this end, we define four scenarios to determine the effect of charging rate and distribution of EVs over the network on the system loss. We also evaluate the effect of EV parking lot's location on the system loss.","PeriodicalId":333489,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126775217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
