These changes may disappear once the schools resume face-to-face classes in full force. Likewise, a positive change may not be necessarily what we want in education. This may be due to the existence of digital divide among students which cannot be ignored. During the COVID-19 pandemic, OneNote Class Notebook is used as an interactive digital whiteboard and has been evident as one of the best alternatives to the traditional whiteboard in the teaching and learning process. In this study, we aim to analyze students’ perceptions of OneNote Class Notebook and the level of their continuous intention to use OneNote Class Notebook as an interactive digital whiteboard to replace the traditional whiteboard when school reopens with face-to-face lessons in the classroom in full force. The findings show that the students perceived that OneNote Class Notebook is indeed a useful tool to be used for calculus learning. But, it cannot be perceived as suitability to continue to be used during post COVID-19 period, when school reopens with physical classes in full force. In this regard, it reminds educators of the importance of rethinking education in the new normal post COVID-19 era from the perspective of curriculum studies.","PeriodicalId":332586,"journal":{"name":"2023 11th International Conference on Information and Education Technology (ICIET)","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133708963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to compare two string spelling error correction algorithms for the Indonesian language. The N-gram, Jaro-Winkler distance, and Levenshtein distance algorithms are used to determine whether they can accurately correct typological errors in the Indonesian language. Moreover, this study utilized KNIME tools to process the data from beginning to end. The data was retrieved from news in Indonesia. After the experiment on N from 1 to 12, the results obtained for the comparative analysis proved that Jaro-Winkler distance performed better than Levenshtein distance for comparing smaller strings like words and names. However, Levenshtein distance performs as well as Jaro-Winkler distance started from four strings. Finally, both Jaro-Winkler distance and Levenshtein distance algorithm got the best performance accuracy for eight strings with an accuracy of 99.52 percent. The result of this study is also presented that both algorithms can support word error correction for the Indonesian language.","PeriodicalId":332586,"journal":{"name":"2023 11th International Conference on Information and Education Technology (ICIET)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129317156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we developed a programming exercise support system that presents students’ coding status to the teachers with the aim of improving lessons. This system provides a Web-based programming environment for students. The system accumulates the exercise numbers that students work on as operation logs, as well as the operations and results of editing, building, execution, and testing programs. In addition, it presents teachers with each student’s progress, the source code creation process, and the occurrence of errors. This system consists of functions for students, instructors in charge of seminars and teaching assistants, and course chiefs. The system currently only focuses on C language. Approximately 230 students used this system for seven weeks on two subjects taught in class. The number of logs varied from day to day, thousands to over 100,000 logs were collected and accumulated per day. Based on user comments, we evaluated the system from five viewpoints of FURPS (Functionality, Usability, Reliability, Performance, Supportability). It was confirmed that the function of \"ascertaining the student's coding status,\" which is the purpose of this research, was achieved. Teachers can use the insights provided by our system to guide students in real time.","PeriodicalId":332586,"journal":{"name":"2023 11th International Conference on Information and Education Technology (ICIET)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115471713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It makes it difficult for teachers to realize if their explanations are difficult for students to understand. It is also difficult for students watching the video to realize whether they are understanding the lesson video correctly because the lesson proceeds without any questions from the instructor. In this study, three factors are used to extract \"difficult-to-understand\" video intervals from the lesson videos and generate assignments for these video intervals to support students’ understanding. Students can check their understanding and seems to develop their knowledge by studying the assignments generated using our method. There are many studies that have been conducted, didactic models have also been adapted, and there is a wide range of applications, all focusing on VR in education. Besides, there are only a few studies which explore the attitudes, requirements and wishes of teachers and students. It is important to see what lecturers want and what their ideal requirements are. Do they really want to teach in VR? What value do they see in VR? What tools are they already using and how much experience and equipment is available at universities. To answer these questions, we designed a questionnaire encompassing 3 domains with 11 subdomains and a total of 116 questions to explore the requirements, acceptance, and experiences of VR in higher education. Overall, the results (N = 170) show that 50.0% of respondents consider VR important for themselves, but 82.1% believe that VR will be important for practical use in the classroom in the future. Further key findings will be presented and discussed in the paper, and raw data will be made available to the public. In summary, it can be said that the respondents definitely see the benefit and need for VR in higher education, although lecturers and students do not always agree on certain issues.","PeriodicalId":332586,"journal":{"name":"2023 11th International Conference on Information and Education Technology (ICIET)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129567266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
