The quality of life during pregnancy determines pregnant women’s health. This study aims to identify the differences in the quality of life during pregnancy who participated in antenatal care (ANC) visits in primary healthcare centers in rural and urban areas. This study used a cross-sectional design and collected data through  survey. The research population was 800 pregnant women who participated in ANC in three primary healthcare centers in urban areas and three others in rural areas. The quality of life during pregnancy questionnaire was used for data collection. The analysis was done using the Chi-square test and ordinal regression. Results showed no difference in the quality of life during pregnancy between women in urban areas and those in rural areas. Some factors that affected the quality of life during pregnancy included education, fetal age, number of pregnancies, number of live children, and pregnancy plans in women living in urban areas. Meanwhile, in women living in rural areas, the quality of life during pregnancy was affected by education level, occupation, fetal age, number of pregnancies, number of live children, and pregnancy plans. There are influences of age, education level, occupation, gestational age, number of pregnancies, number of living children, and pregnancy plans on the quality of life of pregnant women in rural areas.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41577132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The more types of contraceptive methods available, the more choices of contraceptive methods available for people. Many determinant factors cause women of childbearing age to choose contraceptives that suit their needs. This study aims to determine the determinants affecting women of childbearing age using contraceptives in West Nusa Tenggara Province. The design of this study is an analytical study (descriptive analysis) with a cross-sectional approach using secondary data from the 2019 SKAP Family Planning and Family Development Population Accountability Performance Survey (KKBPK) in the Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Data were analyzed using bivariate analysis using Chi-Square and multivariate with logistic regression. The results showed that the determinants that affect women of childbearing age in using contraceptive methods include: unmet need, age, parity, previous family planning experience, decision-making, knowledge, and visits to health facilities. The results of multivariate analysis of the most dominant decision-making factors influencing the use of contraceptive methods in women of childbearing age with an OR value of 174,666. It can be interpreted that the decision-making ability of women of childbearing age is 174,666 times more influencing the use of contraceptive methods compared to other variables. This study recommends empowering women of childbearing age through increasing knowledge by maximizing the individual counseling process so that women of childbearing age can choose contraceptive methods according to their needs.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47328416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

IDHS 2017 data show that 6-23 month-old children have the highest diarrhea prevalence. The objective of this research is to analyze the association of child feeding practices (early initiation of breastfeeding, continued breastfeeding, bottle feeding, MDD, MMF, MAD); sanitation hygiene (source of drinking water, treatment of drinking water, toilet facility, handwashing facility); healthcare utilization factors (immunization status, vitamin A in the last 6 months); and socio-demographic factors (maternal age, maternal education, maternal working status, economic status, residence) with diarrhea incidence in 6-23 month-old children in Indonesia. This cross-sectional study included a total of 4,030 children aged 6-23 months from IDHS 2017. Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression were applied to analyze factors associated with diarrhea. It was found that the prevalence of diarrhea was 19.8% in 2017. Bivariate analysis shows that diarrhea was significantly associated with continued breastfeeding, bottle feeding, toilet facility, source of drinking water, maternal age, economic status, and place of residence. Furthermore, multivariate analysis results in some variables  have a statistically significant association with diarrhea, which are the use of bottle feeding, non-improved toilet facility, maternal age 15-29 years, and low maternal education. The dominant factor associated with diarrhea was toilet facility (OR=1.500, 95% CI 1.262-1.784). Healthy latrines utilization, cleaning baby bottle properly, and enhancing health education for mothers are pivotal to prevent diarrhea and maintain children’s health at 6-23 months.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44866317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is very important to know the full picture of family resilience in Indonesia, especially in the economic aspect. This study analyzes economic changes, coping strategies, and their effects on subjective family welfare at the pandemic's start. Data were collected through a Family Condition Survey, carried out specifically through online media, for 14 days in 34 provinces. The unit of analysis in this study is the family, that is married couples who have or do not have children, with a total sample of 20,680 respondents. This study conducted univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses using Cross Tabulation, Chi-Square Test and Binary Logistic Regression with Odds Ratio. The results of the study show that there are worsening economic changes, such as working conditions, finances and food adequacy. In this case, environmental factors are the family's socioeconomic and financial conditions (education, income, employment), which are still the main factors and significantly influence the subjective well-being of the family. However, the subjective welfare of families in Indonesia is still quite good; most families are still happy, remain grateful, and communicate well. Coping strategies in managing family finances, such as saving and using savings, are the most widely used. However, these efforts are constrained by low family income and increased additional needs during the pandemic. There is a need for further research that can fully describe post-pandemic family economic coping strategies in the last 12 months.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42994751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Autocorrelation is a correlation of errors between observations, the existence of an error correlation between observations will cause deviations from the actual statistical value. One of the statistical methods for overcoming autocorrelation is the Prais Winsten method. This study aims to explain the Prais Winsten method in overcoming the problem of autocorrelation on factors that affect the life expectancy of East Java Province in 2018. This research is a secondary data analysis, data obtained from the East Java Province's health profile in 2018 with the dependent variable, namely life expectancy, and independent variables, namely prevalence of diarrhea, clean and healthy living behavior, and mean years of school. The results of this research indicated the finding of autocorrelation problems in the factors that affected the life expectancy of East Java Province in 2018. Improvements with the Prais Winsten method showed that the Durbin Watson value was at the critical point limit, Mean Square Error and coefficient of determination (R2) value was decreasing. This research concludes that the Prais Winsten method can overcome autocorrelation.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47546312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, studies around family function and reproduction health of adolescents are still limited. This research analyzes the link between family function on knowledge, attitude, and healthy sexual behavior among adolescents in East Java Province. Generalized Structural Equation Modelling (GSEM) was applied to the 2019 Performance and Accountability Survey (SKAP) 2019 East Java Province which consists of 32,194 families and 5,300 adolescents aged 10-24 years old. The results show that family functions are not well established, adolescents' knowledge of reproductive health is still low, and most adolescents have a negative attitude toward various population issues. The ability of families to socialize the five family function values is related to adolescent knowledge of reproductive health, positive attitudes toward population issues, and healthy reproductive behavior. This study suggests the importance of strengthening family functions to establish healthy reproductive behavior among adolescents in East Java.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48904594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This aging condition is experienced differently between provinces. Some provinces have entered this period, while others haven't. This study aims to describe the process of population aging at the provincial level as well as examine the causes of differences in population aging periods between provinces in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics covering 33 provinces in Indonesia in 2010, 2015, and 2020. Aggregate (macro) data were analyzed descriptively using the aging degree index to describe differences in the speed of the population aging process and by statistical inference using binary logistic method and panel data regression to identify causes of variations in population aging period between provinces. Logistic regression results show that provinces with characteristics of many residents migrating out, high population density, many people who already have proper sanitation, high per capita spending, and low unemployment rates, have the opportunity to enter a period of population aging more quickly than provinces without these criteria. Panel data regression results show that the aging population in Indonesia is more dominated by socioeconomic factors than demographic, health, and environmental factors. The results confirm that a holistic development approach must be pursued by the government. More attention should be given to demographic, health, and environmental aspects. Thus, population aging occurs in a quality manner accompanied by the welfare of the elderly population.","PeriodicalId":33106,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Biometrika dan Kependudukan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46771574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
