It exerts a pervasive impact on women's reproductive well-being on a global scale. Recent years have witnessed a mounting body of evidence, drawing from investigations employing murine models and human clinical data, which elucidates the dysfunction of microRNAs (miRNAs) in various reproductive pathologies. This dysfunction, it appears, plays a pivotal role in the context of female gametogenesis and fertility. Nonetheless, the precise mechanistic links between miRNA dysfunction and the pathogenesis of these disorders remain, in many cases, inadequately understood. This comprehensive review endeavors to shed light on recent advancements in research pertaining to the regulatory functions of miRNAs in the etiology of diverse reproductive disorders that culminate in infertility. Furthermore, it addresses the potential utility of miRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for these conditions. The paper also examines the existing limitations and challenges inherent to the clinical application of miRNAs in this context.","PeriodicalId":330764,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research","volume":"21 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138979521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is characterized by the deposition of hyaline-like material within multiple organs, including the skin, oral mucosa, larynx, and brain. Clinically, the first sign is often a weak cry or hoarseness of voice due to the infiltration of the laryngeal mucosa; hoarseness remains throughout life. Cutaneous lesions occur in two stages, which may be overlapping; the first stage consists of vesicles and hemorrhagic crust on the skin of the face and extremities, which resolves with pock-like scarring. In the second stage, the skin becomes diffusely thickened and waxy yellow. The classical clinical feature is beaded papules linearly arranged over the eyelid margin, known as Moniliform blepharosis. Involvement of the tongue, oropharynx, recurrent parotitis, dental anomalies, and neurological manifestations are other findings. A pathognomonic radiographic finding is bilateral intracranial sickle-shaped calcification in the amygdala. Pink hyaline deposits are found in the dermis in skin biopsy. Lipoid proteinosis is a chronic cutaneous disease with a benign course.","PeriodicalId":330764,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research","volume":"11 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138981165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays classical and modern classifications can be performing for diagnosing various types of cancers including endometrial cancer. Based on this our Objective of study is to determine the effectiveness of immunohistochemical observation, a quick and easy method for determining MSI and/or other types of EC which based on modern classification. As molecular study takes more cost we want to compare the both methods and showing the possibility of doing IHC instead of molecular study. Methods: This study designed to establish a small gene panel of Next Generation Sequencing NGS of endometrial cancer patients targeting 12 genes; MSH6, MLH3, MSH3, CDH1, PTEN, MSH2, MLH1, PMS2, FGFR2, BRCA1, MUTYH and AREL1. By using DNBSEQ-G400 Platform, Human Core Exome kit and Python software for analysis is used. At the same time, Dako kit used to performing IHC for six primary antibodies used to detect each of MSH6, MSH2, MLH, PMS2, PTEN and CDH1. The primary antibodies were applied on 5 µm formalin- fixed paraffin- embedded (FFPE). Results; histopathological examinations showed that all patients were at stage II endometrioid endometrial carcinoma. The FIGO classification were Ia and Ib. Microsatellite instability (MSI), nuclear staining immunoreaction for PTEN antibodies and membranous E- cadherin immunoreactions observed through IHC study. The molecular studies detected several polymorphisms which have clinical significant and some of them have conflict interpretations. Conclusions; we considered that, simply immunoreaction staining procedure can be use as alternative method for MSI phenotype detection rather than any type of more expensive and complex method of NGS. Concerning PTEN and ECAD1 antibodies reactions, also could be dependable in diagnosis and treatment and performing them if molecular diagnosis not available.","PeriodicalId":330764,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114534772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Facial emotion recognition (FER) is an important part of social function, and has been found impaired in individuals with insomnia. This paper aims to explore the mechanisms of the correlation between insomnia and FER impairment, and the possible consequences of impaired FER for people with insomnia. Impaired expression expressivity and amygdala dysfunction are proposed as potential mechanisms underlying the link between insomnia and impaired FER. FER impairment in insomnia patients might lead to overlooking danger and lower levels of vigilance and arousal, which could result in disastrous outcomes. Moreover, impaired FER could lead to social function disturbance, making insomnia patients vulnerable to bullying.","PeriodicalId":330764,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122610969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials & methods: We included 12 patients with forgotten DJ stents who had their primary surgery done at our hospital between September 2019 and March 2021 and were unable to follow up due to the lockdown imposed for the COVID19 pandemic. Results: Twelve patients underwent their forgotten DJ stent removal by a combination of ESWL, cystolithotripsy, and percutaneous nephrolithotomy. All the patients achieved complete clearance of the encrustations/stone and removal of forgotten DJ stent in a single sitting. Conclusion: A forgotten DJ stent with encrustations and stone formation is a serious urological problem for the patient and the treating doctor. A stent is usually said to be forgotten if the indwelling time period is more than 3-6 months which was not intended by the treating doctor. In our series, the management and intervention depended on the patients' preop status, the severity of the encrustations, location, and the size of the stone. In patients with moderate-to-severe encrustations and stone presence, procedures such as CLT, ureteroscopy, and PCNL were performed. Forgotten/retained stents are a source of severe morbidity and additional/unnecessary hospitalization. In our series, we suggested a few protocols that could be followed in order to prevent a forgotten DJ stent.","PeriodicalId":330764,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Medicine: Current Research","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131464396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
