The covid-19 pandemic forced all learning to be held at a distance and fully online, which was only 20% of courses using LMS before the pandemic. Thousands of classes need to be opened in EMAS, so non-eLearning teachers face confusing situations. Several support-system efforts have been opened and revitalized, such as providing migrate-to-online learning guidelines, organizing more teacher training, upgrading the LMS, and establishing a fully online helpdesk. Moreover, the UI strategic plan year 2022 revision has mandated UI to be more implementing technology and increase the number of MOOCs opened, so more facilities development is certainly needed. This paper elaborates on UI strategies and lesson-learned in facing the situations and some effort to keep relevant.","PeriodicalId":330555,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Innovation In Open and Distance Learning","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136081804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though proponents of traditional-based education argue that students experiencing learning through ODL systems are disengaged from the learning process and that teachers are equally disconnected from the learning process, with insufficient value placed on face-face teaching, pressures to assign overinflated grades, and incentives to teach content only, and not critical thinking skills, however, technology has the potential to alleviate many of the challenges. Moreover, some of the challenges are peculiar to some of the ODL education systems, especially universities in the developing world. Emerging digital resources and technologies hold promise to enrich and revitalize ODL university systems, give students a deserved learning experience, and better prepare students and teachers to face the 21st century. Every aspect of learning, such as grading, assessment, access to reading materials, learning platforms and environments/classrooms, simulations, etc. is covered by emerging connected workplace technologies. The paper discusses the underlining determinant factors, namely institutional-management preparedness, employee attitudes, institutional research and technological innovations, stakeholder engagement, power supply, bandwidth/broadband issues, funding, digital policy frameworks, and the overall responsiveness to change that global ODL competitiveness imposes. It concludes that institutional preparedness and national priorities drive the effective direction of the change that meets the requirements of ODL learning systems.","PeriodicalId":330555,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Innovation In Open and Distance Learning","volume":"237 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132867895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Play is also inseparable in early childhood education. When playing, children can learn various skills. Early childhood education prepares students readiness to enter further education. In addition, students need learning activities that support multiple intelligences.  This paper discusses a game called Mini Gobak Sodor game. This study uses descriptive-analytic method. This game is an adaptation of traditional Gobak Sodor game with simple and available materials. The content of the game is a religious topic about Islam, including the Five Pillars of Islamic Principles. Children aged 5-6-years old can play this game. The game can be played by four players. The game consists of a drawing divided into six parts. Each part represents pillar of faith in Islamic religion. Each player runs a pawn on the drawing. The study found that the game applied the developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) concept. Therefore in children's education, DAP will allow educators to develop children skills by involving 4 basic components including knowledge, skills, dispositions, and feelings.","PeriodicalId":330555,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Innovation In Open and Distance Learning","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116450146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new normal teaching integrating digital technology have become burdensome to a few faculties, and yet to some it has become a challenge and quickly pursued training to learn things quickly. Unfortunately, many of the technologies has changed teaching and learning into a certain degree. This study focused on how the quality and character of teaching have been impacted by the integration of digital technology into Biology courses. Faculty and BSc Biology students were purposively selected and interviewed using an inclusion criteria. Audio-recorded interviews on Zoom transcribed manually were thematically analyzed. First cycle coding was done using Nvivo. Evaluation codes, were utilized during the second cycle coding using NVivo. Emerged codes from the evaluative perspective of the researchers and qualitative commentary provided a systematic collection of information of activities related to digital integration, characteristics and outcomes which provided judgment, improve effectiveness, and/or inform decisions about future development plans, programs, and policies. Codes were scored with corresponding magnitude. Positive/negative signs were further used to indicate whether a theme positively/negatively affected respondents, then tabulated and analyzed. The result showed that digital technology integration was significantly correlated with faculty and students’ attributes such as age, computer gaming experience. Biology courses need the essential alignment like the TPACK framework and advanced didactics. Digital technologies integration has been plainly limited the effects of teaching as conventional education models need to embrace changes brought about by the pandemic in the post-industrial decline","PeriodicalId":330555,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Research and Innovation In Open and Distance Learning","volume":"2010 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126368856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
