This work is a dual-scenario case study of four households that are participants in a DSM program on a single feeder line. In the first scenario, each of the four households has local PV generation. In the second scenario, PV generation is provided only by other non-participant households on the same feeder. Simulation results confirm that the proposed scheduling algorithm can effectively reflect and affect user’s energy consumption behavior and achieve the optimal time of electricity usage. For practical consideration, we have also taken into consideration the impact of PV generation on the total electricity cost. Analysis shows that application of higher penalty factors can significantly improve the PV utilization efficiency while reducing fluctuations in the voltage profile for the entire system. The impact of applying a DSM algorithm on the total power losses of the feeder is also studied in this paper. The proposed solution is implemented based on the Clonal Selection Algorithm (CSA).","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116649231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first part, this paper gives a comprehensive literature review on DSM’s that are related to load scheduling, Direct Load Control (DLC), and Demand Response (DR). In the second part, two algorithms are chosen to compare performance in terms of load consumption profile, Photovoltaic (PV) utilization efficiency, and power loss. These algorithms are implemented to find the optimal electric load consumption profile with presence of local PV generation. Furthermore, this paper aims to present two approaches for DSM for a residential home. These approaches can be used in response to changes in the price of electricity overtime and in the presence of PV generation to minimize the consumption cost and change the consumption pattern by shifting part of the load to off-peak hours. In addition, a case study of a single household with a single line is considered under the assumptions of its participation in a DSM program. Results show that the proposed scheduling algorithms can effectively reflect and affect user’s energy consumption behavior and achieve optimal time distribution of electricity usage. Numerical results show the impact of applying DSM algorithms on total power losses of the feeder. The proposed algorithms are implemented based on the Clonal Selection Algorithm (CSA).","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128000124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Earlier data is broadcasted on single channel but now multiple channels are introduced for data broadcasting. In this paper, we propose a hash based indexing method for multiple wireless data broadcast channels. Hashing indexing technique on multiple channels gives better result than on single channel. In this paper, we are proposing an enhanced hashing technique that improves the result of previous proposed broadcasting technique. In this paper, we are taking the advantage of the best features of hashing technique and proposing enhanced hashing technique for multiple channels. Our proposed technique also minimizes collision in hashing technique. The proposed hashing technique aims to address the problem of data broadcasting on wireless channels. The proposed algorithms broadcast the data items to significantly reduce access latency and parameter adjustment time to save time and reduce power consumption of the mobile devices.","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128582934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, we calculate the path loss between center cell to victim link receiver and all co-channel cells to victim link receiver to determine desired and undesired signals respectively. Next, AWGN and Shannon’s capacity have been used as a comparison to analyze the performance of throughputs in interference-limited cellular systems. The simulation results show that a re-use factor of N=1, directional antenna has improvement in the Shannon capacity by 242.2 % over Omnidirectional antennas whereas a frequency re-use factor of N=7 has increased to Shannon capacity by114% for N=7 over N=1.","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129562912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Auger Engineering Radio Array (AERA) focuses on the coherent radio emission, generated in the frequency range of 30 - 80 MHz. However, this range is contaminated by human-made and narrow-band radio frequency interferences (RFI). At present, AERA uses a non-adaptive IIR filter tuned to the four strongest narrow-band carriers. The efficiency of the RFI suppression is very good, but for only well-known sources. In the near future, a 200 MW solar farm with a 250 kV power line is planned to be built in the Southern part of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The non-adaptive filter will probably not suppress the much more sophisticated RFI spectrum coming from high-power low-to-high voltage converters. The development of a very efficient adaptive filter seems to be a crucial issue.The Zero Delay Least Square Filter (ZDLMS) developed recently is a very promising solution. It allows extracting real cosmic ray signals totally hidden in the background. However, its efficiency is extremely high for very strong contaminations. For lower RFI levels its efficiency drops down. The paper presents an optimization of the ZDLMS filter introducing a dynamical signal amplification for using in a maximal way the efficiency of the ZDLMS. The additional FPGA segment controls the range of the detected signals and adjusts the 14-bit filter to leave only three MSBs for a safety margin of the potential cosmic rays events","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114921671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accurate modeling and simulation of the CSTR is crucial for efficient control and safety system design. In this paper, we present a novel hybrid dynamical model for the CSTR that supports accurate model-based design for CSTR safety and security systems. We first derive the system model then show how both the safety and security systems could be formally designed from the hybrid automaton. Finally, we discuss the generalization of the approach to other cyber physical systems.","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129435887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed technique is based on the Mihailov stability criterion and it assured the stability of the reduced system, if the higher order model is stable. In this method, the denominator polynomial of the reduced model is determined by Mihailov stability criterion and the numerator polynomial is obtained by using a simple mathematical algorithm discussed in the literature. The superiority of the proposed technique is judged by comparing the time responses of original and reduced systems. The performance of the proposed method is measured in terms of various error indices such as integral square error (ISE), relative integral square error (RISE), integral absolute error (IAE) and integral time absolute error (ITAE). It is seen that the results of the standard numerical example are quite competitive as compared to the standard model order reduction methods.","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"271 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134035831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While some works investigate the method of exploring indoor floors, other works address the issues in staircase navigation. The proposed work bridges these tasks by allowing a tracked ground robot exploring a floor to find the position where it should begin its climb on the identified staircase. Ideally, such a position is before the first step on the mid line of a staircase, with sufficient space on the floor for the robot to fit in. Various geometric considerations, statistical measurements and randomized algorithms are combined to compute the start-of-stair position from point cloud data obtained from an RGBD camera. An efficient slope finding method is developed to detect the slope containing the staircase. The stair-center on the plane is then computed. The stair bottom, and eventually the start-of-stair position is computed based on the intersection of stair and ground planes. Results are presented on single RGBD frames as well as accumulated point cloud obtained from a mapping algorithm. The scope of error in the initial detection is also analyzed and sample results indicate that the point cloud processing can overcome spatial errors in the initial detection over a considerable margin.","PeriodicalId":329966,"journal":{"name":"2019 11th International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (CICN)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132660323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
