For the Batak people, land is an identity. Land is the ancestor and home of the Batak people, so there are often prolonged conflicts and even bloodshed triggered by land claims. This love for land is the background for the Marsipature Hutana Be development movement. For this study, an attempt is made to read social reality with a sociological and theological perspective based on empirical and historical facts. This study aims to describe and identify issues of development and social change in the Batak Land. This study used appreciative inquiry approach with participatory methods and phenomenology. The results of this study are that in order to encourage the acceleration of economic development without leaving the local identity of the community, Christian theology must cooperate ecumenically with local philosophy.Abstrak. Bagi orang Batak, tanah adalah identitas. Tanah adalah leluhur dan rumah bagi orang Batak, sehingga kerapkali terjadi konflik berkepanjangan bahkan pertumpahan darah yang dipicu oleh klaim atas tanah. Kecintaan akan tanah itu melatarbelakangi gerakan pembangunan Marsipature Hutana Be. Untuk studi ini diupayakan membaca realitas sosial dengan perspektif sosiologis dan teologis berpijak pada fakta empiris dan historis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengidentifikasi isu pembangunan dan perubahan sosial di Tanah Batak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan appreciative inquiry dengan metode partisipatif dan fenomenologi. However, education becomes the object of social change when education must submit to the development of the industrial world. The hidden curriculum is taught to prepare human resources to fulfil the market’s needs. Education is prepared to work for people who have capital as known terminology, capitalism. The growth of technology and its equipment make education a private and expensive institution economically, whereas unfortunate people cannot participate. Therefore, it creates incapable human resources to fill the free-market vacancy, and religious education is placed in the midpoint. The inequality of supply in human resource skills towards the demand for working space forms the unstable demand and supply curves. As a result, the shifting curve of the Short-Run Aggregate Supply of human capital moves toward supporting capitalism to stand still. Through the sociological approach, the perspective emic discovers the problematic fundamental for religious education is facing a social change. The dilemma of religious education leads to legitimate the path of capitalism in the education area (or market). It is so since Christian inhabitants in Indonesia are a minority while the institution run by these Christian and Theology Study Programs are abundant. It causes graduates from these institutions over the capacity for schools and churches can use. In order to increase the opportunity for taking jobs for graduates of Theological Institutions, there must be innovative ways taken. This research was conducted by qualitative method with phenomenological approach. The research’s object was students and graduates of Institut Agama Kristen Negeri (IAKN) Tarutung since 2016. The research’s result showed that Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) could be good solution for the problem. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus proclaimed that in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, one must do the will of God. This statement seems contradictory to Christian soteriology which believes that salvation is solely by grace. Thus, this paper aimed to examine this statement and its suitability with Christian soteriology. This study used a biblical diachronic-historical approach to the text of Matthew 7:21. Through this study, it was found that the statement was addressed to the Matthew community with the aim of providing a standard of living as citizens of the Kingdom of God and not a condition for obtaining salvation.Abstrak. Dalam Matius 7:21, Yesus memproklamirkan bahwa untuk dapat masuk kedalam Kerajaan Sorga, harus melakukan/poieō kehendak Tuhan. Pernyataan tersebut nampak kontradiktif dengan soteriologi Kristen yang meyakini keselamatan semata-mata oleh karena anugerah. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini bertujuan mengkaji pernyataan tersebut dan kesesuaiannya dengan soteriologi Kristen. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan diakronis-historis biblical terhadap teks Matius 7:21. Local wisdom was practiced by traditional communities to shape human morals and character. The moral values of local wisdom were fostered through formal learning and habits in various traditions. However, the repertoire of local wisdom has not been widely used as a medium of learning in modern education. This paper tries to explore a local wisdom in Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, namely proverb (go'et) that can be used in learning Catholic Religious Education in schools. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the exploration show that there are important values that are directly related to the achievement of the core competencies of Catholic Religious Education, especially the First Core Competencies (Spiritual Attitudes) and Second Core Competencies (Social Attitudes). The values of local wisdom are very relevant to the basic Christian values that are promoted in Catholic Religious Education learning.Abstrak. Kearifan lokal dipraktikan oleh masyarakat tradisional untuk membentuk moral dan karakter manusia. Nilai-nilai moral dari kearifan lokal tersebut dipupuk melalui pembelajaran formal maupun pembiasaan-pembiasaan dalam berbagai tradisi. Namun demikian, khasanah kearifan lokal belum banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai medium pembelajaran dalam pendidikan modern. Tulisan ini mencoba mengeksplorasi satu kearifan lokal dalam budaya Manggarai, Nusa Tenggara Timur, yakni ungkapan-ungkapan khas (go’et) yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik di sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil eksplorasi memperlihatkan bahwa ada nilai-nilai penting yang berhubungan secara langsung dengan pencapaian kompetensi inti Pendidikan Agama Katolik terutama Kompetensi Inti Pertama (Sikap Spiritual) dan Kompetensi Inti Kedua (Sikap Sosial). The purpose of this study is to conduct a theological study of the urgency of understanding human and non-human partnerships as an effort to restore the ecological damage that occurs today. Severe ecological damage is a logical consequence of exploitative attitudes and human greed. That reality drives the need for efforts to reformulate the model of relations between creations. This theological study used a descriptive qualitative method by exploring a model of human and non-human partnership that can be used as a reference. This partnership places an emphasis on responsibility and respect for the intrinsic values of each creation. Intrinsic value emphasizes that all creation comes from and is in God. Therefore, one must have a firm belief in God's presence in the midst of His creation and the intrinsic value embodied in it.Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan kajian teologis akan urgensi pemahaman kemitraan human dan non-human sebagai upaya pemulihan kerusakan ekologis yang terjadi dewasa ini. Kerusakan ekologis yang parah merupakan konsekuensi logis dari sikap eksploitatif dan keserakahan manusia. Realitas itu mendorong perlunya upaya merumuskan ulang model relasi antar-ciptaan. Kajian teologis ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan mengeksplorasi model kemitraan human dan non-human yang dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan. Kemitraan ini memberikan penekanan pada tanggung jawab dan penghormatan terhadap nilai-nilai intrinsik setiap ciptaan. Nilai intrinsik menekankan bahwa segala ciptaan berasal dan berada di dalam Allah. Therefore, through this paper we try to offer theology of sagu, specifically for the Christian society in Maluku. By understanding sagu theologically as a blessing from God that can provide food for society and their harmonious relationship with God, mankind, and nature, this will have implications for the empowerment carried out by The Protestant Church of Maluku on human and natural resources in Maluku. Here the theology of sagu, which is proposed, is constructed from the cosmological view of the Christian society, the biblical basis of John 6:25-59, and some contemporary ecological theological ideas. The purpose of this paper is to add The Protestant Church of Maluku's ecological theology which is being developed to respond to various ecological crises in its context, Maluku. This article aims to show the importance of Christian education in the church context which focuses on the history of faith and its relation to social discourse. In general, the practice of Christian education in the church is still indoctrinating. Highlighting this, this paper attempted to establish a dialogue between the theory of critical pedagogy (liberation) of Paulo Freire's thought and the Christian education of the church (sidi catechism). The discussion in this article shows that the application of Paulo Freire's concept of critical pedagogy can emancipate catechism learning as an experience of religious faith. The faith’s evidence is shown in the reflection of personal life and to the world around it. Transformative Christian education in the teaching of catechism is important to be carried out with critical action and reflection as an appreciation of living together for better social change.Abstrak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan pentingnya Pendidikan Kristiani dalam konteks gereja yang berfokus dari sejarah iman dan kaitannya dengan wacana sosial. Pada umumnya, praksis Pendidikan Kristiani di gereja masih bersifat indoktrinatif. Menyoroti hal itu, tulisan ini berupaya untuk mendialogkan teori pedagogi kritis (pembebasan) dari pemikiran Paulo Freire dengan Pendidikan Kristiani gereja (katekisasi sidi). Pembahasan dalam artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konsep pedagogi kritis dari Paulo Freire dapat mengemansipasi pembelajaran katekisasi sebagai pengalaman iman religius. Bukti iman diperlihatkan dalam refleksi kehidupan personal dan dunia sekitarnya.
