The residual stress measurement was carried out using the strain gauge rosette that was associated with the plastic deformation of material and stress concentration effect of multi-point cutting tool. The corrective formulation was developed for calculating the corrected value of residual stresses from the experimentally obtained strain value. The Strain gauge response was estimated experimentally using the tensile testing for the uniaxial loading while finite element analysis was performed for biaxial loading. Gas tungsten arc welds joint was prepared for conventional V-groove and narrow groove design.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77490211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a need - underpinned by economic considerations - to continuously improve and lead to a maximum reduction in the level of deficiencies in production processes. One of the methods that can help to improve the process is SPC (Statistical Process Control). One of the SPC tools are process capability indicators (Cp, Cpk) or performance indicators such as Pp, Ppk. In this paper, on a mass measuring station, a study was conducted on three types of products manufactured in a company, and the measurements concerned each piece of product manufactured during one work shift. The collected data were used to calculate the process capability and evaluate these processes.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"148 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80630879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this experiment a shaper machine with HSS single point V-shaped cutting tool is used at different cutting speed and depth of cut. The experimental results show that the surface roughness of the alloys decresess with cutting speed and depth of cut but it is more prominent on cutting speed. It is because of high cutting speed is more associated with the higher cutting temperatur and softening the work material leading to better surface finish. Higher Si added alloys shows the better surface finish due to formation of different intermettalics as more brittle. For brittle and higher hardness it produces the higher temperature during machining. During machining relatively curly and short chips are form by the high Si added alloy becase of its low elongation properties. Fracture surfaces of higher Si added alloy display more crack propagation obtained by the plate-like Si rich intermetallics.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78076080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The velocity distribution of the liquid and gas phases influences the formation of two-phase flow structures and, consequently, the mechanisms of energy and moment exchange in the two-phase flow. The article concerns the application of the PIV method to the assessment of hydrodynamic phenomena occurring during two-phase flow realized in pipe minichannels with an internal diameter d > 2 mm. Fluorescent marker particles with a density close to that of water were used in the research. The preliminary tests were carried out on the adiabatic water-air mixture. The research aimed to check the applicability of PIV methods also in non-adiabatic flows. As a result of preliminary studies, velocity maps of the liquid phase, histograms and velocity profiles in the vertical section of the tested minichannel were obtained.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90753273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first part presents the results enabling the correct selection of the die clearance on production lines depending on the thickness of the sheet metal. The second shows how to prepare the punch geometry in the FEM environment, taking into account the typical defects that occur as the work cycles increase. Thanks to this, it was possible to determine their influence on the state of stresses and deformations as well as the quality of the cut edge. The developed numerical applications and the obtained test results can be used to design tools and optimize the punching process.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88495224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The combustion of fossil fuels emits greenhouse gases that lead to the greenhouse effect. The main symptom of the greenhouse effect is increased earth surface temperature. Also, the resources of fossil fuels are depleting rapidly and can take thousands of years to reproduce, so the time has come to go for lesser polluting renewable fuels. In this research, Bio-CNG is considered as an alternative fuel to conventional fuel i.e. Diesel. The performance test on four-stroke IC Engines working on the Bio-CNG and Diesel fuel is conducted simultaneously. The performance parameters such as Brake Power, Indicated Power, Thermal Efficiencies, Mechanical, Volumetric efficiency for both fuels are compared. Along with the performance, the emission is also recorded and compared. The results have shown that Bio-CNG has slightly less performance ability for similar engines working on Diesel fuel. But this study also shows that Bio-CNG possesses the ability to replace the conventional fuel with some engine and exhaust system modifications. The higher calorific value (47000kJ/kg) and lower or negligible carbon emission make it the best sustainable fuel substitute to conventional fuel i.e. Diesel.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83003195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of the internal flow of the fuel injector nozzle is impeded by several factors. Cavitation is one of the factor which affects fluid flow. It is associated with local pressure distribution inside nozzle. Therefore cavitation plays major role while designing injector nozzle. In the present study, analysis of existing six hole mini-sac diesel injector nozzle is carried out using commercial CFD package. The main objective of research is to design of nozzle to avoid cavitation and to find out contribution of different parameters through parametric study. The results are predicted and compared with both test result and analytical result at steady state conditions for different needle lift., the better the results.","PeriodicalId":32811,"journal":{"name":"JEMMME Journal of Energy Mechanical Material and Manufacturing Engineering","volume":"75 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82397189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
