This paper studies a combined waveform called LF-PCM which adopts intra-pulse linear frequency modulation (LFM) to PCM to mitigate the impact of Doppler shift. LF-PCM is more Doppler robust than conventional PCM waveform, which makes it suitable for high speed target detection. Moreover, LF-PCM's two-dimensional Rang-Doppler resolution is finer than that of LFM waveform with equal bandwidth.","PeriodicalId":327814,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132522183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The velocity of the target induces range shift, signal-to-noise ratio loss, range profile spreading, so it should be compensated. The conventional technology requires velocity estimation. The errors of elevation angle have been calculated in conditions including evaporation duct, surface duct, and duct profiles changed with range, which demonstrate that the variation of atmospheric refraction can affect the errors of elevation angle associated with the multipath effects seriously. The proposed antenna is applied in base station communication systems with the frequency range from 300MHz to 870MHz. Compared with the traditional UHF base station antenna, the proposed antenna has a lower profile with the height of 80mm, only 0.08 λ at 300MHz. Consideration of high power, low-profile, bandwidth and radiation pattern, it's great to adopt a conical antenna with a matching network to constitute the proposed antenna. And the lumped-element inductances and capacitances are applied to constitute the broadband matching network, and the lumped-element is welded on surface of the copper plate that is 1.0mm thick. From the experimental results, the S11 of the antenna is almost less than −12dB in the frequency band, the directivity is about 4.15dBi, the elevation/depression angle is +70°/ −70° and has a great horizontal omnidirectional radiation pattern. The proposed antenna has a reference value to develop the associated UHF base station antenna.","PeriodicalId":327814,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE)","volume":"589 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134357171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Microwave radar technology offers a noncontact, quick, accurate technique and has potential for industrial applications. We studied the effect of suppression to remove the stationary background clutter, and separated the front rotor and the back one of electric fan from the overlapped echo signal using the power-spectrum density (PSD) analysis. The experimental results have shown the accuracy and robustness of our system to detect the speed of angular movement such as electric fans or other motor rotation. It has been shown that the frequency analysis will have a dominant fundamental frequency that is multiple of the rotation frequency that depends on the structure of reflectors on the target in IR-UWB radar based noncontact rotational movement measurement.","PeriodicalId":327814,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE)","volume":"73 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131627407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents the design and fabrication of a novel, miniaturized antenna that uses a fractal structure. The antenna has two resonate frequencies at 24GHz and 35GHz, respectively. Unlike a rectangular patch antenna, the patch of the proposed antenna is shaped similarly to a Peano curve and uses a Through Silicon Via-Coplanar Waveguide (TSV-CPW) as a feeder. The area of the Peano-curve patch is the smallest for a given perimeter. The simulation results describing the return loss, and the dual-band performance can be realized by loading this type of fractal structure. Meander line units are introduced to generate a strong uniform magnetic-field distribution over a large interrogation with no null zones. The antenna can be adapted to appropriate scenarios conveniently in practical application by increasing or decreasing the number of the meander line units. As an example, a 10-units meander line implemented onto a piece of FR4 printed board is designed and prototyped. The results show that the antenna achieved operating bandwidth about 14 MHz, which covered Chinese UHF RFID standard and produced uniform magnetic field distribution over an interrogation zone of 100 mm×750 mm. Both simulated and measured results are shown to illustrate the good performance of the proposed antenna.","PeriodicalId":327814,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE)","volume":"208 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115903134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
