Today, thanks to modern technology and a large number of software tools, it is possible to define new geometric curves which are easily adaptable for use as transition curves when designing roads or railways. These transition curves can be formed in such a way to make them fit in with the surrounding landscape or urban environment better, which can improve the aesthetics of the transport system. Furthermore, transition curves provide a smooth and gradual change of curvature, reducing the risk of sudden curvature changes, which can cause discomfort to passengers and create an unsafe situation, such as a loss of vehicle control or a train derailment. This paper assesses an algorithm for emergency vehicles preemption, which aims to prioritize emergency vehicles through signalized intersections, while minimizing negative impacts on other vehicular traffic. The algorithm is based on the constant exchange of information, such as the expected arrival time based on accurate coordinates and speed of emergency vehicles, and the current signal status at the downstream intersection. The algorithms are created and tested in VISSIM microsimulation on a test-case network consisting of ten signalized intersections along State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. The development of technology and technique has brought many conveniences to people, but it has created and negatively affects their environment. This paper presents the impact of bridge construction on the environment. Through the literature review, certain negative effects were determined through different stages of design, from construction to rehabilitation of bridge structures. The results of applying Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in bridge design are shown on a examples. The case study shows the possibility of using integral abutment bridges on reducing the environmental pollution. In this project, which included: widening of the road from 2 to 4 lanes, reconstruction of bridges, construction of new roundabouts and installation of water drainage systems, special attention was paid to environmental protection. As the section of the road is located within a key biodiversity area, during the preparation of the project numerous biodiversity studies have been carried out, all in accordance with domestic and international standards in the field of environment. During construction, numerous environmental protection measures were implemented, and one of them is the construction of an eco-crossing for animals that will enable the safe crossing of animals from one side of the road to the other. These are alternative crossings over or under major roads, in areas of preserved nature, which aim to disrupt the way of life of wild animals as little as possible and prevent their extermination, i.e., to contribute to species conservation. In addition to this, fenced openings are left on the dividing island so that the animals have enough natural light. Monitoring and reporting on the state of the environment is a necessary condition for fulfilling legal reporting obligations in accordance with the adopted Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the section in question. Environmental monitoring based on the implementation of the adopted Environmental Management Plan for the road section. It defines the measurement program during the regular exploitation and maintenance of each environmental parameter separately, as well as the appropriate legal bases related to sampling and measurement procedures, execution methods, sampling locations, sampling time, and length. Monitoring provides insight into the state of the environment in the zone of influence of the road section in question. Monitoring enables obtaining important information for undertaking appropriate protection measures in order to prevent or reduce further environmental pollution and establish an early warning system. The strategic noise maps were methodologically and in terms of content realized in accordance with the local regulations of the Republic of Serbia that were in effect, as well as the Directive EU 2015/996 (CNOSSOS - EU:2015) and Directive 2002/49/EZ (better known as \"European Noise Directive – END\") guidelines. Road traffic was specifically analyzed due to it being the dominant noise source in the agglomeration. During the realization of the strategic noise maps a noise model for road traffic was created, with more than 3.000 road sections, where a road section is a part between two road junctions for the entire traffic infrastructure, with parameters for the acoustic model defined from point-to-point along the section. A part of the traffic data was gathered through the Traffic Study of Novi Sad 2029, which encompassed the Transportation Model of Novi Sad – NOSTRAM Model [1], the realization of which was planned as part of the development of General Plan of Novi Sad until 2029. The calculations encompassed more than 70.000 buildings with 147.618 living units and 320.346 inhabitants on a total area of 137,96 km2. High axle loads, high tyre pressures and greater dynamic loads require load-bearing and stable road pavements. Concrete road pavements are highly suitable for meeting these demands over long periods of time. Therefore, they are well suited for the new construction and renewal of motorways, federal and country roads, local bypasses, bus traffic areas, intersections and roundabouts, and cycle paths. Concrete road pavements have a long service life even under heavy use. Nevertheless, the production costs are competitive and the maintenance costs are low. Based on this, an analysis and synthesis of the speed of movement of children and the elderly when crossing the road at two signalized pedestrian crossings in Doboj was carried out. We get speed of pedestrian movement using scientific observation and measurement methods. The results are presented in tables and diagrams. Djelovanje aerozagađenja na stanovništvo može biti direktno i indirektno. Aerozagađenje direktno oštećuje i pogoršava zdravlje ljudi, dok se njegovo indirektno djelovanje ispoljava putem štetnog uticaja na domaće životinje, vegetaciju, materijalna i kulturna dobra. Saobraćaj je glavni zagađivač vazduha azotnim oksidom. Takođe, utvrđeno je da saobraćaj značajno učestvuje u zagađenju vazduha i česticama prašine PM10, sumpordioksidom SO2, kao i ugljenmonoksidom CO. Furthermore, it is used to limit the traffic demand and enable the efficient functioning of the traffic network. However, street parking regulations are uneasy to enforce. In almost all cities in Serbia, parking on the street does not work in the desired way. Many drivers park on prohibited places. Those who park on regular places where one of the restrictive regimes applies, often do so without paying and/or exceeding the prescribed time limit. Poor functioning of the enforcement system was recognized as one of the main causes for the poor parking condition. Parking enforcement represents a reaction to non-compliance with the prescribed parking regimes. For adequate reaction, it is necessary to understand the causes and patterns of such drivers behavior. Therefore, we need to investigate the connection between non-compliance with the parking regime and the control and sanctioning of violations. The analysis of the parking situation in three cities in Serbia assessed the extent and consequences of non-compliance with the parking regime on street parking places. In addition, it determined the causes of insufficient efficiency of the system for controlling and sanctioning parking violations. We proposed possible directions and measures for mitigating these problems.
