During this time, the pipe organ was the primary instrument used in churches and cathedrals across Europe. Organ music of the medieval period was characterized by its solemnity, grandeur, and religious significance. This paper explores the intricate relationship between the medieval pipe organ and the development of church music during the medieval period. It examines the historical background, construction, religious significance, and evolution of the pipe organ alongside medieval church music and music education. This paper discusses the symbiotic connection between the advancement of the pipe organ and the education in medieval church music, highlighting the role of cultural, historical, and socio-political factors in shaping this relationship. Additionally, it explores the significance of the \"Codex Faenza,\" a renowned collection of medieval instrumental works, in understanding the interplay between the pipe organ and medieval religion. Overall, the abstract underscores how the pipe organ served as more than a musical instrument; it acted as a cultural symbol, facilitating identity expression, cultural exploration, religious dissemination, and the display of power in medieval Europe.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"63 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141101973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to examine how exploitation is inflicted on female idols and how it influences fashion trends and the evolution of the representation of girl groups in the K-pop industry through analyzing music videos (MVs) and the lyrics of title tracks from different K-pop girl groups from the 3rd generation to the 5th generation with postfeminist lens. The results of the study indicate that K-pop girl groups undergo three stages of transformation in media representation. First, girl groups experience hypersexualization or infantilization by wearing high heels, miniskirts, and school uniforms, in order to satisfy male gazes from male fans. Second, the popularity of girl crush makes girl groups choose boots and leather clothes to indicate girl power, which explores the female fanbase. Third, K-pop producers conceptualize girl groups to satisfy different ideologies, meaning that members of girl groups have to give up authenticity to achieve synchronization and coherence. To conclude, dominated by a patriarchal society, girl groups satisfy the male gaze while empowering sisterhood and questioning heterosexuality with the influence of feminism, which indicates a postfeminist landscape.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"74 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141101762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Utilizing the story of an attractive Chinese narrative and cultivating a positive perception of a nation's greatness can serve as a potent strategy for mitigating opposition towards Chinese culture. Nevertheless, the occurrence of \"cultural discount\" frequently arises in the context of cultural export, so significantly impacting the efficacy of cultural communication. The majority of these investigations about this phenomena mostly centre around the cross-cultural communication aspects of documentary films, with comparatively less emphasis placed on TV dramas and other forms of film and television that exhibit greater efficacy in communication. This study examines the phenomena of \"cultural discount\" and its underlying causes by taking the TV drama The Legend of Zhenhuan as an example. The Legend of Zhenhuan was popular in China but not in the United States. The research reveals that various issues, including disparities in textual comprehension, absence of translation artistic elements, and fragmented narrative structures, have an impact on the comprehension of Chinese television dramas among western viewers. Moreover, these factors contribute to the exacerbation of the phenomena known as \"cultural discount\". These variables serve as a theoretical foundation for domestic film and television productions to enhance their outreach efforts, thus facilitating the more efficient dissemination of Chinese culture and the establishment of China's image.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"4 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141100817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be said that the characteristics and functions of social media are a double-edged sword; it has a significant impact on individuals because it will subconsciously change peoples identity from active seekers of information to passive consumers. Therefore, this paper will focus on how social media decreases individuals willingness and initiative to receive information and how social media uses algorithms and big data to influence peoples perceptions and actions. For example, silently, social media algorithms create a filtering bubble so that individuals can only see posts that are similar to their viewpoints; and how social media platforms establish business profit models that change individuals traditional consumption patterns and the functioning of related business markets. As social media continues infiltrating personal lives, the authors conclude that people will lose their online identity and become more passive.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"5 39","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141100889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Understanding the direction for policy improvement requires exploring what migrant workers truly want and what concerns they have. This paper first establishes an index system based on eight dimensions including subjective attitudes, physiological motivations, and social motivations through the construction of a Random Forest model, analyzing the importance of various factors affecting the willingness of migrant workers to return home for entrepreneurship. The study found that the factor \"influence from peer groups or media reports\" has a significant impact on their willingness. Secondly, using the AMIRA model to predict the per capita disposable income of rural residents in Guangxi for the next seven years, it was found that their income is on an upward trend, which is conducive to enhancing the willingness of migrant workers to return home for entrepreneurship. Lastly, based on the research, countermeasures and suggestions are proposed from the perspectives of the government, market, and society to promote entrepreneurship among returning migrant workers.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"2 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141101083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He interconnected religion, culture, and socio-economics through rationalism, simultaneously delving into a conceptual issue, the \"transformation of ancient and modern,\" brought about by the development of rationalism. Building upon this, Weber uniquely examined how society and actions are irreversibly propelled by the force of these ideas to construct the \"iron cage\" of modernity. Therefore, placing \"Weber's proposition\" within the broader context of modern thought serves as a perspective to help us better understand and reflect on capitalism as a spirit of thought or ideology, as well as the crises hidden within the societal reality constructed upon it.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"93 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141101380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although articles play a significant part in English learning, the related researches in China are not thorough enough. By means of tests and case analysis, this study confirms the existence of the misuse of articles among third-year English major students in China and investigates the most common type of their mistakes. The result shows that the causes of students misuse of English articles can be summarized into these three categories: redundancy, numerical consistency, and confusion. Among them, redundancy is the most common mistake made by all levels of students, while numerical inconsistency is more frequently seen among students from high score group. It is also proved that there is a correlation between recognizing the right articles in tests and using articles correctly in writings, which sets higher requirements for teachers in their article-related class.","PeriodicalId":326480,"journal":{"name":"Communications in Humanities Research","volume":"7 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141101251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
