To decide whether services can be chained, semantic matching between the I/O is usually evaluated. In this paper we propose an approach considering possible adaptation of output data before it is consumed as input by other service. We also define the corresponding rules based on which it is evaluated if the chaining is possible or not. Moreover, we deal also with the affect on workflow and service description, and their execution.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123262467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With such explosive growth of the content, it is more and more difficult to locate, retrieve and manage the resulting information. This is why text mining has become a necessity. The main goal of biomedical research is to put knowledge to practical use in the form of diagnoses, prevention, and treatment. It is important to pool the resources between the different individuals researching results. The objective of this paper is to discuss the variety of issues and challenges surrounding the perspectives regarding the use of Information Retrieval and Text Mining methods in biomedicine. The article will first look at the directions in biomedical Text Mining and then describe the work done for the BIAM project, the French on-line Medical Data Base.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128351618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we explore a practical approach for domain ontology construction from texts using existing tools. We also describe a case study, which focuses on selecting a variety of papers on avian influenza virus. According to our approach, after being reduced to only key sentences, the selected texts are parsed by NLP software to identify the words and their corresponding parts of speech. The labeled sentences are then related to one another to create an ontology. In addition, the Graphviz tool is used to visualize the graphical ontology. Advantages, limitations, as well as the improvements of this approach are discussed.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114853891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the mobile-agent-based e-commerce systems are desgined and implemented, their functional correctness and completeness must be formally verified. For this purpose, this paper introduces an extension of Petri nets, mobile-agent-oriented Petri nets (MAPN), for modeling and analyzing transaction workflows in mobile-agent-based e-commerce systems. By attaching some attributes to the tokens of the classical Petri nets, every token can be regarded as an agent to roam around the places to excutive certain tasks. In order to illustrate our formal model (MAPN) is effective for mobile agents modeling in e-commerce systems, an example of product search between buyers and sellers is provided. Meanwhile, the reach ability and the cover ability of the model are analyzed as well. Compared with exsiting formal description of agent-based systems, the tokens in MAPN model can carry more information, make the model more simple and powerful.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125649114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method assumes that a multi-agent system in a domain constitutes a community and so the trust network is modelled by the means of a graph in the community. Several notations and regulations are defined in the description model of TNG. In order to sweep out redundancy information in the TNG and reduce the complexity of the trust computation, we propose the principles and the processes of simplification, the definition and the selection algorithm of Optimized Path for Recommendation Propagation (OPRP) in terms of the trust commonsense in people’s daily life. The examples in this paper show that TNG can describe the complex trust relationships in mutliagent e-commerce systems and help simplify the algorithms of the trust evaluation.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115509815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although they offer relatively good results, in some cases they are not sophisticated enough to solve real problems. We identified some problems with automatic composition. Our belief is that the natural way to improve these techniques is to include user into the process of composing services. The goal of this paper is to present a new way of combining AI approaches incorporating also user assistance to create a meaningful plan. We shall also examine benefits of proposed combination. To demonstrate advantages of our approach we designed and implemented system performing web service composition.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129133266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional deadlock verification technique does not work well in collaborative workflow environment. In this paper, we present a novel technique of Collaboration Guideline which allows partners to check whether there is deadlock in collaboration with the hosting workflow. We choose Pi calculus as the modelling language of collaborative workflows, because of its distributive and algebraic nature. We explain how deadlock can be detected with only observable behavior and additional constraints. Based on the insight of deadlock in collaborative workflows, the proposal of Collaboration Guideline is natural. The advantage of Collaboration Guideline is that it only exposes external behavior and limited information. Thus, Collaboration Guideline can be produced at the hosting company and used to verify deadlock at the partner’s site.","PeriodicalId":326450,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fifth International Conference on Next Generation Web Services Practices","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116994703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
