The quality of life in patients after hip arthroplasty is equal to that of the reference population. Nursing after arthroplasty helps in restoring normal function of the damaged limb as well as in preventing complications. Post-arthroplasty care includes centering the damaged joint, assisting with exercise, and providing routine postoperative care. Equally important in nursing is home care teaching, as well as exercises that can last for several years, depending on the type of arthroplasty performed and the patient's condition.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81358096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a significant and often unrecognized cause of secondary arterial hypertension resulting from an increase in atrial resistance, a decrease in cardiac contractility, a decrease in glomerular filtration rate, abnormal sodium metabolism, activation of the sympathetic nervous system and endothelial dysfunction. CASE REPORT: A patient born in 1952 arrives at a family medicine clinic because of 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) indicated by a cardiologist as part of the evaluation of exacerbation of previously stable hypertension. In regular therapy, he uses: Enalapril 20 mg 1x1, Enalapril hydrochlorothiazide 10/25 mg 1x1, Indapamide 2.5 mg 1x1, Simvastatin 10 mg 1x1, Levothyroxine natrium 50 mcg 1x1 / 2. ABPM verifies elevated daily, night and 24h average outpatient blood pressure, a significant increase in blood pressure in the morning and during intense physical activity. The ultrasound examination shows a significant increase in the size of the thyroid gland compared to the earlier findings, while laboratory processing detects hypothyroidism. Patients are referred to the Department of Nuclear Medicine where total thyroidectomy is indicated. One month after surgery, the patient uses Levothyroxine natrium 100 mcg 1x1 for 6 days and 1x3 / 4 on the seventh day, while initial antihypertensive therapy is limited to Enalapril 5 mg 1x1. CONCLUSION: Early detection and adequate substitution therapy for Hashimoto's thyroiditis allows for normalization or significant reduction in the value of secondary hypertension, reducing the possibility of irreversible changes in blood vessels and coexisting essential hypertension.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78819621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

OBJECTIVES: Determine whether there are differences in attitudes and knowledge between respondents urban and rural areas regarding EC. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Preschool Teacher Training College of Applied Studies in Sabac where inclusion criteria were female students, from urban and rural areas, of any age group. Data were collected using a questionnaire constructed for the purposes of this research. Ethical approval was taken prior to data collection. RESULTS: Overall 260 participants (151 urban area and 109 rural area) participated in the study. Students from urban areas had better informed about the term EC (ch2 4,16; p=0,04) and that this type of contraception was targeted at females (ch2 3,746; p=0.05). Significantly higher numbers of female students in the urban area claimed that the indications for the uses of EC was an unprotected sexual intercourse (ch2 4,516; p=0,003) and irregular taking of hormonal contraception (ch2 4,83; p=0,02). Only one-quarter of the students knew drugs used for EC do not harm future fertility. Less than half of the respondents consider that her partner would agree to use of EC in case of unprotected sex. CONCLUSION: The results showed that the respondents of both groups do not have enough knowledge on this topic and that there is a need for a targeted health education programme.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82766056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adverse cardiovascular events include: heart failure, nonfatal reinfarction, recurrent angio pain, rehospitalization, and mortality. The SYNTAX score is an angiographic indicator that is a predictor of adverse events after AIM. The aim of this study was to determine the significance of Syntax score as a predictor of adverse outcomes in patients after acute myocardial infarction. Method: A retrospective study was conducted at the Zvezdara Clinical Hospital in Belgrade in the Department of Interventional Cardiology, by analyzing medical documentation for the period January - March 2020. 80 patients of both sexes, aged 30 to 80, were examined and hospitalized for myocardial infarction. The monitored parameters were: socioepidemiological data, SYNTAX score, adverse events (recurrent infarction, revascularization, stroke and mortality). Results: Of the 80 respondents included in the study, 32.5% were female and 67.5% male. 75% of them had STEMI and 25% NSTEMI entity. The average age of the patients was 61.7 years. Adverse events one year after hospitalization were present in 40% of patients with STEMI, namely: reinfarction in 6.7%, revascularization in 23.3%, stroke in 1.7% and lethal outcome in 8.3% of patients. SYNTAX score is low in 24 patients (40%) with STEMI myocardial infarction and high SYNTAX score in 25 subjects (41.6%). Conclusion: The SYNTAX score as a predictor of adverse outcomes is extremely important for clinical practice and follow-up of patients after acute myocardial infarction.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81650845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the introduction of nursing care and nursing into the university curricula, scientific research in this area became an inevitable part of the advancement of the profession. Nursing focuses on the care for others and deals with issues such as nutrition, security and safety, admission and care, hygiene issues and similar. Promoting the research and involvement of nurses in research teams is of great importance to the quality of nurses' work, as it encourages evidence-based and data-based work. Generally speaking, we can say that the history of nursing research begins together with modern nursing. Nurses involved in research are often faced with a lack of support from managerial nurses and misunderstanding from colleagues who believe that doing research has a negative impact on clinical practice. Such a situation suggests that research work should actually be encouraged during school. There are three major areas with regard to nursing research: nursing education, nursing practice, and nursing administration. When it comes to trends in nursing education, the emphasis is primarily put on the importance of quality research rooted in philosophy and humanism that is also able to provide practically usable results. In the field of nursing practice, the emphasis is on research that promotes health and healthy lifestyles. Finally, in the field of nursing administration, the most common is evidence-based research. The primary focus is placed on topics such as nursing, energy therapies, knowledge and attitudes, and spirituality. The relationship between care and treatment, symptoms management, quality of life and depression are the topics most commonly examined. In Serbia, nurses have only recently been given the opportunity to study at a university level. There is also an increasing number of nursing colleges. This situation speaks in favor of stimulating and fostering research work.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79409451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
