Glucocorticoids are the therapy of choice for the initial treatment of symptomatic disease, but their prolonged use is associated with significant toxicity. Alternative therapies that reduce glucocorticoid use are also available. Fatigue and depression are often present in patients with sarcoidosis. Their occurrence in practice is mostly underestimated, although it is related to a lower quality of life. As fatigue and depression cannot be assessed using objective measures, the use of validated questionnaires is recommended. They enable the detection and monitoring of fatigue and depression related to the underlying disease and may indicate the need for appropriate therapy.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"48 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78726937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Right heart catheterization is the gold standard for the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension. However, this is an invasive procedure, so it is reserved for patients with a high probability of the presence of pulmonary hypertension. Current guidelines for the diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension recommend transthoracic echocardiography for the screening method. Adequate treatment of underlying diseases and comorbidities is important in order to prevent disease progression, disability, and shortened patient survival. Specific therapy for SAPH is not routinely recommended.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"9 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76247322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking into account the specifics of the problem, impact on the partnership and social interactions, treatment of infertility can have significant negative impacts on the quality of life in women during the in-vitrofertilization procedure (IVF). Main goal: To determine the quality of life of women during the IVF process in relation to general life satisfaction, physical and mental health, as well as to determine the satisfaction of patients with health services during the IVF process. Material and methods: The research was conducted as a descriptive cross-sectional study lasting 4 months. The survey was conducted online, the sample consisted of 150 respondents currently in the IVF process. The Fertility quality of life tool questionnaire - FertiQol - was used as a data collection tool. Results: The largest number of respondents are in good general physical condition (61.5%) and are satisfied with the general quality of their life (67.7%). Significant statistical differences were proved between the score Core Quality of life and the score Quality of life in the treatment domain (p<0,001). These results show that the respondents' core quality of life is statistically significantly higher than the quality of life associated with in vitro fertilization. Conclusion: The research confirmed that patients entering the IVF process are satisfied with the overall quality of life, but have a lower quality of life compared to their core, which is directly related to the lack of necessary information that is not available at the optimal time and/or presented in an adequate way, as well as the level of communication with health professionals that needs to be improved.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"58 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90957453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women in Europe, North America and other Western countries, while its incidence is constantly increasing. Aim: The main aim of the study was to examine the quality of life of patients with breast cancer at the University Hospital Foča and the General Hospital Trebinje. Material and methods: The research was conducted on a sample of 120 patients in the University Hospital Foča and the General Hospital Trebinje from May to August 2019. The chosen study design is the cross-sectional study. A general questionnaire on the basic sociodemographic indicators of the respondents, a modified Short Questionnaire on Health Perception (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire), a questionnaire on the quality of life SF-36v2 (Short form SF 36 ver 2) and the Beck Depression Scale (BDI) were used in the research. Results: The average value, of the maximum possible 100 points, by which patients assessed their physical component of quality of life is 55.3 points, of which physical functioning was assessed with 52.7 points, limitation due to physical health with 60.5 points, physical pain with 45.3 points and general health with 56.8 points. Beck's depression scale found that the largest number of patients with breast cancer do not have depression, 96 of them (80%), 21 patients (17.5%) have a mild form of depression, 2 patients (1.7%) have moderate depression, while only 1 patient (0,8%) has a severe form of depression. Conclusion: Patients with breast cancer had average values in the domain of the physical and mental component of quality of life. It has been determined that the majority of patients do not have depression.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"208 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83622744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Assessment of patient status, risk factors, and adverse outcomes has a significant impact on patient care planning after AIM. The GRACE (Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events) score is of great importance in risk stratification in these patients. Objective: To determine the importance of determining the GRACE score in order to set priorities in the planning of patient care after acute myocardial infarction. Method: A retrospective study examined 50 patients, both sexes, aged 28 to 75 years, with a diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PKI), who were treated at the Zvezdara Clinical Hospital in Belgrade during the research period, from January to March 2020. Data were taken from the medical records of these patients. During the study, AIM type, comorbidities, CVD risk factors, GRACE score and frequency of complex nursing interventions in patients with low, moderate, and high-risk of adverse cardiac events were monitored. Results: Out of a total of 50 examinees with AIM treated with PKI, 74% had STEMI and 26% NSTEMI. 84% of patients had positive family history, 64% hypertension, 2% diabetes, 48% obesity, 52% were smokers and 6% of them were using alcohol. The values of the GRACE score were increased as follows: in four patients more than 140, while in one of them a moderate value was recorded, and in one low value of the GRACE score. In the course of six months, three patients, who had high GRACE scores on hospitalization, had a lethal outcome. Complex nursing interventions in the intensive care unit are more common in patients who have high GRACE score values after AIM. Conclusion: The GRACE score can be used as an important guideline in planning the health care of patients after an acute myocardial infarction.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78370261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In hypersensitive people, gluten from food triggers immune reactions and leads to irritation, inflammation and atrophy of the small intestinal mucosa with consequent malabsorption of nutrients. The only proven treatment for celiac disease is a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet. By following a diet, it is possible to effectively control the disease and preserve the quality of life. However, if the condition worsens, health professionals must ensure adequate nutrition during their stay in the hospital, and treatment in accordance with the identified needs. This paper presents the specifics of determining the need for care in patients with celiac disease (nursing history, determination of nutritional status and elimination data). Then, we considered the most common problems in the field of nursing care such as: knowledge deficit, diarrhea and vomiting, high risk of dehydration, malnutrition, risk of inadequate thermoregulation and inefficient health maintenance. Nursing interventions are also presented in order to solve these problems, during the hospital treatment of patients with celiac disease.","PeriodicalId":32587,"journal":{"name":"Sestrinska rec","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88644185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
