In this paper, the Akaike information criterion (AIC), which aims to solve the problem of the optimal model selection, is used to select the best fading distribution for vehicle radio channel from Rayleigh and Rician distributions in a highway environment. The measurement results show that the Rician distribution has the best fitting for the V2V radio channel in a highway communication environment. Influence from surroundings on the small scale characteristics are analyzed. The Rician K-factors are extracted and modeled based on the measurement data. It can be found that the mean value of Rician K-factor is around 4.86 dB in this scenario.","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130815399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper introduces a real-time array calibration (RAC) positioning technology, via road test comparison in different scenarios with other two terminals. Through the analysis of multiple indicators, it is found that the RAC terminal has better positioning stability than other terminals in different scenarios and can reach sub-meter accuracy. This technology can be used location based service (LBS) with sub-meter, and it will be widely applied to driver assistance system (DAS), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) navigation system and other fields.","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129196961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If the distance is short, tugs usually will be used to move FPSO. But when the distance is far, the way of the tug is expensive and has a high transport risk. So using Semi-submersible vessel to transport FPSO is a better approach. There is a tricky problem to accurately and safely loading FPSO to Semi-submersible vessel, especially in large FPSO(300,000-ton). 300,000-ton FPSO need be transported by the largest Semi-submersible vessel in the world in long distance movement. In this Paper, we studied the P67 transport case to propose and analyze the control methods in the process of loading. During the study, we analyzed environmental factors and give the suggested value. Based on the force calculated by simulating ship motion and safety evaluation got, we designed a scientific load plan to load FPSO. Through this study, a valid control solution was proposed which guide the Semi-submersible vessel to load FPSO successfully.","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125362250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first part of this research is a qualitative investigation aimed at developing marine pilot reliability indexes (MPRIs) by conducting field observation, semi-structured focus-group interviews, and accident data analysis at ports. The results from the first part aid the identification of the key players involved in pilotage operations and the main factors influencing pilot reliability. To examine the impact of the identified factors in shaping pilot reliability, the Delphi approach is used in the second part of the study. The Delphi approach allows for the development of a MPRI agreed upon by experts. In the third part, an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to rank the importance of each identified MPRI. It is followed by an empirical assessment of the reliability of a marine pilot under uncertainty using Fuzzy Evidential Reasoning (FER). Three senior marine pilots in one of the major marine ports in the Middle East region are assessed using the developed MPRI model. The results reveal the novelty of this assessment tool in offering an effective and flexible reliability assessment and diagnostic instrument for decision makers to predict the reduction of pilot reliability.","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123062672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is believed that factors affecting the occurrence and severity of traffic conflicts would also affect those of road crashes. In this study, the effects of driver age, traffic condition and driving time on the severity of rear-end conflicts on inner-city roads were examined using driving simulator approach. A total of 41 drivers completed the driving simulator experiment. Their responses to 82 challenging events were assessed. Performance indicators including braking reaction time (BRT), minimum time-to-collision (TTC min), time exposed time-to-collision (TET), time integrated time-to-collision (TIT) and the conflicting speed were considered. A TTC min of 3 seconds or less was adopted as a threshold to screen out 68 rear-end conflicts for subsequent analysis. Results indicated that low traffic flow condition contributed to the reductions in BRT, TIT and TET. Drivers tend to react faster to the challenging event under the low traffic condition. Also, the rear-end conflicts tend to be less severe under the low traffic condition. Elderly drivers were found to have a shorter duration of safety-critical situation during the rear-end conflicts. Driving time has significant influence on BRT, TIT and TET. Driver’s reaction was slower at the last five minutes of the simulated driving. This could be explained by the driver fatigue due to the prolonged driving. However, the adaptive strategy, i.e. speed reduction, in the late period of the 60-minute driving contributed to the lower severity level of conflict. This study should provide useful insights on the traffic conflict analysis, using driving simulator approach.","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"42 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125707382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a long time, global community and the International Maritime organization (IMO) have been closely working together, a list of regulations and solutions are worked out; in the meantime, many energy efficiency improvement methods are proposed. In this study, global efforts in tackling climate change are summarized using a timeline approach, which includes the important outcomes of the United Nations Climate Change Conference and the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting. Then, aiming at the energy efficiency operational indicator proposed by the IMO, the mechanism analysis method is used to summarize the influencing factors of the ship’s energy efficiency. Last, these influencing factors are analyzed from different perspectives. This study provides a basis for the requirement analysis of the ship energy efficiency monitoring system and also benefits in working out energy efficiency improvement measures for the operational ships.","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"29 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125128137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This interaction mechanism is suitable for the current era in which network and information develop rapidly. A traveler route choice model is established based on a two-way ATIS system under uncertain travel time reliability, and a renewal mechanism of route selection strategy is given. The dynamic changes of traveler route selection and the evolution of road network traffic are analyzed and deduced by analytic method. Further analyze the properties of the model, that is, the sufficient and necessary conditions for the solution of the model. An illustration is used to verify the rationality and feasibility of the model. In this paper, rollover and sideslip in road curves induced by lateral instability due to the excessive speed, are analyzed, and the dynamic model of the vehicle during its cornering is established. With the vehicle-related factors, such as load transfer and suspension deflection, taken into consideration, a curve safety speed model considering vehicle-road coupling effect is established, using the vehicle-infrastructure cooperation technology. The critical safety speed of a car and a truck in the cornering scenario is verified by conducting the vehicle dynamics simulation software CarSim and TruckSim under different traffic conditions. The critical safety speed computed by the proposed model is in the range of the results of the typical curve speed models. It is difficult to use the traditional Fault Tree Analysis method to carry out the quantitative analysis. To solve the problem, the fuzzy fault tree of ship collision from human errors was established by using fuzzy numbers to represent the occurrence probability of basic events and top event. And the grey relational analysis method was applied to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of fuzzy fault tree. The fuzzy significance set of the basic events was taken as a reference sequence, while the characteristic matrix made up of minimal cut sets was taken as a comparative sequence. The failure mode of human factor which may greatly influence the occurrence of ship collision was obtained by calculating the relational degrees between the fault mode of human factor represented by the minimal cut set and ship collision accident, which provides a reference for decision making to reduce the impact of human errors on ship collision accident..","PeriodicalId":325712,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131854227","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
